you will probably need to rebuy all the parts you sold...
but maybe try bbk to start
The DC2R chassis is much better if your talking about driving at limits.
Why would you part out if you were gonna buy the same car again. Dumb move.
This is where Honda/most manufactures are failing, all the newer cars they are making turning out to be POS compared to their older counterparts.
How long is one gonna be a driving a car made in the 90's.
Aren't they already nearly same same 0-100KM?
Better driver will win.
Stock vs Stock.
If your chasing power from your K20, cheapest option that will net the acceleration best gains K24 bottom.
remove weight from car
start with full interior strip
Bro they are same in a straight line.
I just googled to confirm they are coming back around the same same times 0-100 on nearly every forum and site.
I have driven both, they have same same straight line guts. Infact dc2r, dc5r, dc5s, fn2r will be very similar to each other in straight line. I think slightly faster is EP3R and S2k.
Maybe if you learn to shift faster or launch just outside vtec range you can beat him. Or the other option is buy a falcon/commodore if your after straightline speed.
I have a dirty shift secret for 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.
Dont let go of the accelerator.
Did I offend you? oO
No offense intended mate. Just being honest. Even the Honda record times for dc2r and fn2r for 0-100KM is at a point where the better driver is gonna win.
Sure the dc2r has a greater power to weight ratio. but at that 0-100KM its not enfu to matter soo much. Its the 100-200 where the dc2r is gonna pull away. You doing 200KM on public road?
Like lilthug said loose weight. About 250KG is what you need to shed.
Or more power, K24 bottom.
I personally thing why ur losing is cos you have a 6 speed and he has a 5 speed. You have to shift one extra time than he does.
Btw I have only never lost to one DC2R in the subbie.
I was close to stock too. He had a turbo.
Okay dont break your car.
This just came to me....
The cost of doing IHE + tune. Brand name parts that at new cost.
You could slap on a k24 bottom + tune. Stock noise level but pull soo much harder. He wont even know.
Spec's don't convey everything.
The times from manufacturers and forums are the 'best' times achieved ie 1 luck run.
I think what OP is saying is how to consistently do it. DC2R can achieve the recorded time most of the time unless driver error. FN2R however the recorded time is much much harder.
OP apart from driver skills, you need to see what modifications to make it easier + consistent to drive.
As lilthug said, one way is the weight disparity, lighter the car is, easier not to bog down, easier to accelerate, etc etc. Lightened Flywheel, etc.
A stock FN2 gets high 15's-16 down the quarter. a DC2R gets high 15's, and I think this is mostly due to the dig
What really matters is their trap speed, if you have this data then you can compare properly
Isn't it true though? Nobody pushes 100% on the street so it's more a comparison of recklessness.
Op if i had a fn2r and wanted to go fast in a straight line, i would install a rotrex or turbo. it's too heavy to stay NA
fn2r straight line is no where near dc2r.
dc2r can do high 14sec at the drag and fn2r mid 15sec.
Meh on normal roads i dont usually exceed 100KM.
0-100KM dc2r vs FN2R. FN2r has a chance.
I Vtec + extra torque from 2.0L bottom. Its the past 100KM where the DC2R will shine over the FN2R.
I just think if he can shift faster cos he has one extra shift to make he can always not let the dc2r pull away.
IMO - Stock They all have similar straight line guts which isnt much at all. Honda earns its sporty name in corners, not on straights.
And lol @ Mr Abos comment its too heavy.....1300KG anit heavy in today's standard.... maybe once upon a time....
You need to be a better driver, between the two cars that's going to be the biggest diffrence.
I think the avg weight of a mordern day compact car is 1300KG+. Given that... I think would be fair to call it light.
Inb4 forever driving around a tin can.
Put Z4 into DC2
All your problems are solved.
I have an idea,
Maybe just.......... buy a dc2r, then it will be as fast as a dc2r
shiii car then

kunts i just got fukd buy a stage 1 mk6 gti. this is embarassing.
Get a wrx m8
Honestly OP if your obsessed with straight line speed.
Honda's isn't the greatest base to start with. There are too many disadvantages on the new ones.
Unless your willing to strip everything out, K24 or even maybe a turbo.
Pointless chasing straight line speed. Maybe start with a better chassis like an EG or a DC2R.
Wouldn't recommend taking advice from Subaru owners club here^^ but as we know b series is an unstoppable beast, sorry OP u fuked.
Thx 4 all the advice FAM. I'll be buying a gc8 soon because it's fast and it's turbo and not heavy.
just turbo the kunt and call it a day
Yeah, I reckon a turbo fn2 would be a nice car to drive, still a modern car with all the luxuries/ modern interior, decent handling, bigger tire/space for more rubber, has bit of extra weight so it wont just spin every time you hit boost. Maybe a lower final drive and aftermarket lsd (if non lsd) to go with it and you'd have a nice sporty fwd that can do it all. Still look a bit homo though but what can you do, its and fn2
Regards,
Sean
Wtb: bbk gc8 with stock turbo must be 400kw don't want molested car cheers.
Nh 400kw no good m8 will be 1000000nm
u only need header in fn2r.
that's all u need
fuk boyz the group n map is terrible
Use custom map
Pm me I'll send you map for stock car np
???????????
Gc8 good car just ugly and shit interior and annoying to work on
Lol all the bagging out of Subaru. Must make you feel better bagging out a higher class vehicle when u drive a tin can of a dc2.
GC8 interior can easily be compared to the shitty DC2 interior.
Even if you were to compare two thoroughbreds from both companies like say 22B VS DC2R.
The 22B wins in all aspects of what makes a car great. Not saying DC2R isnt great, just 22B is better.
I own both brands, work on both so my opinion is not biased.
Both are just as annoying as each other to work on, both have limited space in certain area's that make some tasks PITA.
Its like saying DC2R one day is gonna be a collectors items etc etc..... wake up the 22B has already achieved that status. (many years ago) Where as the DC2R is still a Kids Toy.
hahahahahahaha
Or even the GC8 Coupe if you wanna compare Aussie models. Same thing goes.
Honda once did make a good range of cars at a fair price. In the recent years they are still making fun cars comparative to current market but have lost their pricing point.
Of what a brand new fun Honda costs there are soo many other cars in the market you could look from the european to Jap market.
Its true mate. Not here to bag out one from other. I like both.
Lets just be honest for a second. Subaru is a higher class than a Honda. From performance, luxury and pricing. Subaru has it all in the current market.
What does Honda have in the current market........ people talking about cars they made in the 90's. Even the new one was a let down.
hahahahahahaha
Wow amant got sore bum
Meh you will understand when you try WOT from stand still in your car.
Wherease no matter the weather I can WOT in nearly any given situation.
Hahaha
"let the hurt flow"
dat is true currently since engine is out.
2 weeks more I should be done. Today I was happy with the bottom end, finally the specs came out to my liking. PITA putting it together and dissembling it to measure specs.
nice u doin pistons and rods or what
How can I b hurt, when I like both the DC2R and GC8. infact I would choose the DC2R over a normal GC8 myself.
Im just not biased like you guys are is all.
I would love a gc8, best subaru ever made
What!! Mums part time job racing is bankrupt?
Na mate, im too busy getting fake quotes on 3k engine rebuilds.
Drive in drive out.
Sound like you just can't budget, better luck next time.
