AutoBarn, Internet... Performance Stores are the best places to start...
Yeah I was thinking just a KN filter in the normal box might help a bit over stock and I dont have to install the icebox etc. I wonder if it makes any diff though. I had one in the magna and pacemaker headsers and it seemed to give me for mid end torque. who knows.
theres a trader here on ozhonda sellin a k&n panelfilter. check it
Just get the Icebox - by the time you buy the K&N and stuff around with the piping you may as well have purchased the Comptech. You will also get better gains.Quote:

I agree with yfin ...
I have panel filter in my car from k&n i think egsi helped me out with that...
I also have an icebox coming....
There is very minor difference between k&n and the stock filter...would probobly be barely noticable unless you dynoed even then maybe not noticable..my bum dyno says a little more torquey but it could be my mind playing tricks on me :) ...i liked the idea of being able to recharge/clean the filter rather than buy new all the time...but like i say ive the ice box coming too.
Good luck with your decision..
I 2nd everyone else...save the money for an icebox or other pod filters. Currently have the K&N filter and there is little if any difference.....maybe in the long run it's good cos you can wash and reuse it. For performance, look elsewhere.
Yeap.. Panel filters only give ease of maintenance where u can wash it and reoil it urself.. Performance wise they don't give much performance over stock...
I agree with others since u want it to look stock get Comptech Icebox... Its subtle... Unlike Injen's or K&N's CAI....
But since he wants to know where to get K&N Panel Filter try our ozhonda traders... Should get u a good deal.. As Adammet04 said PM egsi...
just ordered one through a local mechanic....(he does mods and dynos on honda vtec, skylines ,wrxs, gsrs and stuff) $130......
k&n filter will give you a more deeper sound when accelerating and will help with air flow..it doesnt increase performance...nothing you will notice
$130 just for the panel filter?
well,,, no offence at all but...Quote:

my 2c
Says there "Will NOT ship international"
It's just more expensive to get here because of additonal postage and taxes. I got mine through my friend in Singapore. Not cheap though at AU$83
well. i got my air filter, ATF, brake pads from one of the ebay seller says only ship to US too...
but you can ask the seller if they are willing to post overseas... most of time they will... plus i didn't get charged for any tax nor GST for those things...
they are sitting in my room and ready to serve my MDX :D
knocked down 150 coz i prepared them by myself!
well no offence either but it states he doesnt send international.Quote:

I'm not sure which shop he got it from. I think he asked his friend to get it for him, because he was only there for a few days on the way to a conference in the states.Quote:

hahah....omg life saver........thanx euro77........i see....thought it was actually his user id called escondido but its actually an official acura/honda seller store IN escondido......cheers....
Tiago u wont regret it
any one of these 3 aftermarket intakes will give u max. satisfaction. i guarantee it
1) injen cold air intake
2) K&N Typhoon cold air intake
3) Comptech Icebox
I second stephen8512's guarantee... Intake mod is the first thing you should do to a car :D
I Third that opinion... All my cars that i ever had my first mod was always the intake...Quote:

true true u have a good point there............but most of us arnt track racers anyways...........and the stock brakes are good enough for day to day driving and that extra fun..........but good point...........
just one more thing has anyone got hit hard with customs when they purchased their comptech ice box? or CAI anything in that area from USA?
Australia now has a free trade agreement with the US -- shouldn't be any duty at all.
thnx tobster.....
