im currently running a pioneer 400w 4ch gm-x374 to power
pioneer 6' ts-d160r 225w
6x9 tsd690r 250w
w/ us audio dual coil berzerk 600w sub.
- crazy atm i know since its only a 4ch but my mate wired it to run the whole thing. lol
want to get a new 4ch for the speakers and monoblock or 2ch for the sub.
what amp do u guys recommend, thats reasonably priced?
How mich are you willing to spend on a new amp
not sure yet.. if its worth it i'll get it bascially.

the pioneer mono block ive heard is pretty good, though its 500 bucks and 1000w so a bit of overkill, unless youre thinkin of getting a new sub later. I know im saving up for this one. Whatever you do, DONT GO FOR THE CHEAPEST OPTION. I did when i got mine put in, the amp was poo.
Well. Many would not usually amp their rear as you sit in the front, and ears face forwards, so front stage is the priority.
Why not keep your current 4ch and;
a- bridge it to run your front components
b- run front and rear components off each channel
then buy a big ass monoblock to run your sub
If money is no objective, splash out on some new gear (refer fhrx's list :thumbsup: ) .
2ch/4ch -> front (and rears)
mono -> your doof doof
Have a look at jaycar's Response range of amps. They're incredible value for the price (try $399 for a well spec'd D class 800wrms monoblock amp or $299 for a 4 x 100wrms amp)

all the reviews I've read have said that they're great for moderate SPL applications but not as good on the high SQ front (for purists anyway) but they would probably do for what you want.. don't be a slave to brand names, often the stuff inside their poverty spec models is a load of shite.
If you just want to buy ONE amp first, definitely go a 4 Channel so you can power your sub and fronts or rears.
If you buy a monoblock first then you'll only power the sub which, IMO, is pointless. The 4 Channel will be the
better option.

I have a MTX monoblock 800 wrms amp for the subs its fkn tops man no probs, dosnt over heat or anything and runs the subs at full blast with no problems, CRAZY amp IMO :thumbsup:
Have not owned or used the current model Response monoblock but I've used Response multi-channel amps in the past. They've never had any problems whatsoever (provided they are installed properly), they have good thermal protection circuits so they won't cook themselves to death and they give very good sound (check out the review of the 2 x 150w model from this range in the current Autosalon mag, they couldn't find fault with it at all).
When you work out that they only cost 50cents per watt, that's amazing value compared to anything else out there. And they're actually a pretty good looking piece of kit IMO. Keep you're current 4 channel (for your full range speakers) and just add the monoblock for you're sub, it will thump pretty hard if thats what you're after.

don't see why you can't go for the jaycar stuff.
i've heard reviews that thier not too bad, but, never heard or played with em myself.
but i guess, for that price, i don't really think you can go wrong.

I'm really not a fan of wankers who diss stuff based on the brand name or the country of origin. For the money, you couldn't get anything from anywhere else with a spec sheet that comes within shouting distance of Response gear. About the only thing someone really "serious" about car audio can find fault with about these products is the fact that they don't have speaker level line in (like Coustic or MTX) and their noise floor is not up to the standards of serious Audiophile grade amps. As an SPL amp, the Response monoblock is better value than anything else out there. Go and ask a salesperson if they can give you a brand name monoblock with 800wrms that can drive at 1ohm loads for $400 and they'll laugh at you.
