how much would you pay??

i am looking to upgrade to a ITR. and i have found one that catches my eye. and im not to good with integra pricing so i need a little help. the car is modified heavily. its has jun 3 cams, full jun valve train, jun pistons, spoon headgasket, AEM ecu,close ratio gear box, HKS sussy, HKS extractors, N1 exhaust and jdm 16" white ITR rims, a spoon racing seat and full alpine, MB quart sound system.

its a 2000 model with 40,000 kms... good condition

how much would u pay?? (just ball park figure will do, nothing to fancy)

make sure he has receipts for those engine parts.. i mean, how would you know the engine has all that stuff by looking at the engine when you lift the bonnet?

its got the lot for you, you dont need to spend anything else.. unless thats not enough.. i'd say with all those mods i wouldn't pay over 30k..

i wouldnt pay no more than 26k

resale value of the dc2r type R at the moment a lot of you may know is decreasing, so i wouldnt spend more than 26k, ask around for insurance how much they are willing to insure your car for as an agreed value...

40000kms is very low, check log books to make sure its genuine, receipts for engine parts would be good. Also modified cars, dont sell for much more if not less than an original immaculate stock vehicle.

Try finding let alone pricing a dc2r with 40,000kms on the market first guys. My guess would be 28k-30k. Have a browse on carsales or drive.

And that car sounds like quite a beast!

agree at least 30K for that car, its not worth sellin if he cant get that much, the parts you listed would add probably 10 - 15K if you were to put em on yourself.

If the car is in good condition its a solid buy

any where between 25 and 30K
40000 on the clock for a 2000 model is good for a 6yr old car,
plus all the mods too :)

When i bought my DC2R about 6 months ago, I found a stock one in black with 38,000kms and they would not go below $30,500. I thought it was in good condition but just didn't wanta black car. I ended up buying my car for $25,000.

The problem with DC2R's is this.

It is very hard to find a low mileage car in good condition.

When I was searching for mine I found half had blown and replaced motors, and 1/4 were just in shit condition. The other 14 were good but priced highly.

The DC2R is also a relatively rare car, and has a loyal group of followers who will keep resale high.

The original DC2R willl be a big piece of Honda's history.

Like it or not, modified cars don't hold value better then of a original car. That is why modifing a car is costly....

I could have bought a ITR with 4,000kms on the clock for 27,000. I would have been the first owner.

28K ish, but with 40000k looks abit less for me, the clock wound back?? any problem with the car??

Yeah, I would be thinking around the same price.

Without wanting to bag the seller you would be taking above average risk on this car. You don't go changing pistons and cams etc without some serious end use in mind - i.e. the 40000km could be involve a fair proportion of track time. 40 K on the track is significantly different than 40 K on the road. EVen if it is mainly road use I tend to think modded motors have a bit of a question mark in terms of durability and ease of servicing.

I agree with the future collectability of the Type R, but something I have found from my 260Z experience is that collectors place higher value on a stock examples. Not that you sound like you are buying the car for a collection, but it is worth noting anyway.

My two cents worth - Look around for a clean stock one, or maybe put in a lowish offer (<$28K) and try your luck on this one.

I checked redbook recently (carsguide.com) and it said round 20k. though ive never seen any at that price

redbook is a "guide" and a hopeless one at that.

Agree on a price...minus the costs of having the car checked out to confirm that it has all those bits. Either he has the reciepts or he doesnt but either way...dont take things at face value.

28k is the most i would pay for it. Also very importantly make sure it has log books or some kind of service history. Theres only one reason why a person mods a dc2r to this extent and that is to track it.....dont believe otherwise.

Also ask yourself......are you ready to live with an angry beast of a car like this? I have something similar and it shits me to be honest...but then i miss it and it repeats all over again...lol

cheers for all the advice. now i know where to start. test drove it yesterday and it goes like a bat out of hell, apartly it has 200hp atw. much different feel to the civic :P. i have found out the tuner he used so i will contact him for authenticity of parts, service hostory etc etc.

JUN stage 3s not spec Cs :p

also keep in mind you'll have to do the timing belt which then leads to the "you might as well do the water pump while you're there", add that to the price of the car and figure out how much you wanna spend...

Depending on how well everything was done (modified), if it was all done well then I'd pay around 26-27K... Check on how reputable his mechanic is :)

26k to 28k is reasonable

i wont even consider it if it is heavily modified
i sold my ITR with 30k for 28k 2 yrs ago
for now, i wont pay more than $26k for a good condition one
