ermms.. turbosmart BOV? duno exactly which 1 to suggest but i heard ther ok.
try the HKS SS
or Greddy Type S
HKS one is quite pricey isnt it for a BOV
turbosmart, HKS, APEXI, Greddy...... turbosmart is CHEAP and NASTY ehahehaeha, but the Apexi gives really good sound, used to have one in my corolla 20V
u forgot to mention blitz joe, they do BOV too correct?
yeah they do....sorry anna...heaheaheh your my fairy godmother or something HAHAHA
but i think blitz are series from the HKS range
oops okies dokies well id idnt know that..
I wonder how many people in this thread actually know what they are talking about?
thanks for your help guys but i need more information, i hear alot of things too but it would be nice to have someone already heard it or have it themselves i'll keep the APexi one in mine ITRboi.
go the hks ssqv
sounds niceeeeee
The HKS Sequential is a fluttering sound (older model) you probably wont be able to find one brand new so pointless here...
The HKS Super sequential is sharp sounding if you know what i mean... (like an abrupt "chiiiiiiiiink" I had one and it broke in 2 months and it took them 6 months to give me my money back. I'm sure it was a one off faulty item but I liked to change BOVs often so wasn't interested in a replacement I had my fun with it :p
My favourite blow off valve was the ARC one I had if I remember it's about $700 (this was a year or 2 ago) worked well and the quality was beautiful would get one for my next turbo car. This would be my personal recommendation.
turbosmart is not a brand I even looked at or thought about never used their stuff but I've heard "things"
If you go for a reputable brand you should be right just choose what sound you prefer...
but PLEASE don't turn your car into a mini-bus, you know the sound I'm talking about...
I can supply BOVs so if you're interested don't be afraid to PM for more details :)
I'll try get more info and choices for you in the morning.
Depending on your budget and application some of the BOV's from the GFB range are descent. A friend of mine is using one on his Astra Turbo and he hasn't had any trouble with that.
I looked at their site once. They've got good flow properties and for the price you pay they're good bang for your buck.
I'd still reccomend something like HKS, or something else like that just because they're popular and they're proven.
Hope this helps.
Jason
the greddy type-S is a nice one, sounds very similar to the HKS super sequential.
i use a GFB stealth FX, which can run as plumb-back, atmo or any combination between...quality bit of gear
I have this BOV sound file and its the perfect sound i want, Koncept if you agree i can send the file through to your email and you can help me find out what it is. Anyone wants the file give me your email.
Hey there
I've got GFB red one that goes vroooom and a sharp PSHHH...
Asking $150 only. Good condition, PM if your interested.
Depends on what kind of sound u want as well
If u want a lound one "Blitz"
but i dont prefer it cos cop will after u easy..
HKS is good but expensive..!
greddy type s..
greddy type r..
blitzz (loud pshhh mother)
hks ssqv (if u like it obvious with high pitch ping)
fcuken word!!Quote:

In terms of quality.. get a Sard, Tial or Turbosmart
i reccomend HKS SSQ BOV .. the best sounding BOV IMO
not ssqv thats the replicaQuote:

Plumb it back !
even if u plumb back most bov's they will still be audible..
but yeah i am running a GFB plumback.. solid and simple design.. reliable.. would recommend it seeming though i got it for 180 new
this is a shit topic anyway.. it has no reference application etc etc
yawn
Shouldn't be loud at all if you have an enclosed air filter.Quote:

i dont see how an air filter would affect a bov at all..Quote:

my GFB plumbback (designed for plumbback use) is still quit audible eventhough it is plumbacked.. it is all on the outlet design really.. ofcourse it is much more quieter then an atmospheric bov..
also if u have a pod u will most likely have some flutter in the 3k rpm area on slight removal of throttle even if ur BOV setting is completely loose..
anyway i am blabbing, in the end most people dont know shit when it comes to bov's.. and i still say this thread is crap
hey, i have a blitz BOV with streamer pipe if anyone wants it... it was on my alfa and was pretty loud! i changed from the turbosmart stage 2 BOV, to the blitz because it was louder, and you can adjust the pressure realese sound!
tru det!Quote:
