hi all.
does anyone know caliper convertion from
JDM dc5r (brambo) to dc2r ???
is this possible ? anyone done yet??
possible yes, havent herd of anyone doing it yet, you would need brakets made up at minimum by a brake place
dont waste your time and money, just buy some spoon calipers that bolt straight on if your that keen for a brake upgrade, it will be a whole lot better
yeah, cause spoon is so much better :rolleyes:Quote:

spoon, will be a blot on....but there are brembo brakes, that fits bolt on as well.....brembo do make brakes for dc2,they are roughly the same price tag...but i think spoon looks better though
SPOON all DA way mate...
do the spoon calipers come in red as well?
Does the dc4 have the same caliper set up as the dc2? So could i put spoon dc2 calipers on a gsi?
no they dont.. its becase spoon is recoginse by thier color blue....but you can spray them red though......but i dont think its workth spraying them red, blue looks good...look at my avator :DQuote:

The brake pads are definately different on the dc4 compared to the dc2, so the calipers would be different, but i wouldnt think that there would be much difference in compatibility if you were to put the spoon calipers on the dc4. I think they would fit, and even if they didnt it wouldnt take much to make them fit. i suggest checking out the US forums as they have plenty of this stuff in them.Quote:

what about pads... which brand do you guys recomend?
man, so much to learn !!! ^^
i thought all type r's have brembo's stock neway.
ITRBOI
so r u saying the SPOON caliper wouldnt be obviously noticed by daily driving? only when barking at high speed? or track?
well on the straight it wont, but if you take the cornerf, yes you can feel the difference..... on mine i can feel it either way cause i have the master brake cylinder too. Overall its a much better callipers than stock. I dont know it might be just me, maybe im used to my spoon, to be able to feel any difference.Quote:

Spoon only make front callipers!!!! I used delphi for my pads, they are really good, but one thing i dont like is that they give out way to much brake dust.. you have to clean your rims every four days or so....paiin in the arse but it's worth it thoughQuote:

go spoon bro.....bembo is double the weight as the spoon.....plus the price is more dear......
there is a trader selling them here:
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30928
u can get Twin-Block or Monocoque. What is the difference??
They are so expensive!! Would u even bother doing this for a street-driven car at the price?
hmmm...not so true about double the price, but i know with brembo you can get front and back, spoon you can't all depends on what he wants. but in my opinion spoon is better thoughQuote:

The master brake cylinder is a part that comes stock in your car to apply resistence to your brake pedel. When you step on the brake pedal, a brake lever attached to that pedal pushes a piston into the brake system’s master cylinder. This cylinder is filled with brake fluid.Quote:

thanz dude
its a brake cylinder stopper!!!! if you look at the brake cylinder itself from the front of the car, in the middle there is a pin that pops out everytime you steps on the brakes. What the brake cylinder stopper does it, prevent that pin from going out too far, hence it fools the callipers to grip harder.....therefore ABS will always kicks in earlier tooQuote:

If i get a pair of monocoque calipers, do i need it? provided my car is 04 (DC5) er... also i must say ur calipers looks very hot, even nicer with the RAY TN37, wot clour is ur car? it will be super if is white or black..
cheers man..
My car is Championship White with white te37's.....Quote:

u know what would be cool.. an EG with an ITR 5-lug conversion with these calipers on it. It would be possible wouldnt it?
nothings impossible.
you dont need a 5 lug conversion. im trying to source rotors the same size as the itr rotors but in 4x100.
everything is possible!!!! wait and see....someone here has one heahehaheah
DBA makes themQuote:

when upgrading to monoblock, is it necessary to change the break fluide as well?
when swapping brakes yes its good to change fluid. (i think it will start draining when u disconnect the lines from the caliper anyways?
when ever you doing any mod with ur brake.....I mean to change the caliper you need to drain ur fluid and put new one on.....of coz you can leave ur old stuff in and top it up after...but its not the way ppl doing it....and by changing the fluid you can get the best result from the change......correct me if I am wrong......hope that help...cheers...
when changing ANY callipers, it's always BEST to change brake fluid as well....
thanz for the info guys..
wots the best break fluid u can get?
and how abt the break lines? do u need to change them?
brake fluids use genuine one....and you dont have have to change brake lines, but i got mine one change
looks like dba wont be able to supply me with itr rotors in a 4x100.
give me a pm i might able to help you out...i know someone that i can probably source one for youQuote:

funny about braking people think it is about slowing the car down at the lights LOL... dun waste your time on brakes unless u track ur car - ITR calipers are excellent for the car already and will handle track days very well with the right fluids and pads.Quote:

various traders sell spoon calipers for 1800 + not 3k. And for that cash u can get yourself a mugen intake, and suspension - much better BFYB mods for your R than bling spoon calipers. Paint your stockies blue hahaha
hehehehe thanx for the kind suggestion type ONE, i thou u should b supporting spoon cos u r typr one! hehe jk jk.
ah yeh, good point there mate, i dont think i can complain abt the stock break much at all. but er, spoon calipers is listed in the wish list for a while so... hehehe Mugen air intake is defintely a must have mod tooo when it comes to NA car like that... then the mugen exhaust too.. tein super street, takata, rays, oh... they kinda in the list tooo.. hehehe
then again, if money didnt allow, i guess i have to buy a few bottles of spray to complete the list then. hmmmmm LOL
i'd only upgrade the stock brakes if the car had alot more power or if i tracked it. you don't need spoon calipers on the street. your wasting your money buying stuff cuz it looks good, especially if it cost that much.
no i didnt change my disc...only my pads only....Quote:

I am using spoon twin-block caliper. No problem at all. Compare with stock caliper, I don't feel a lot of different on the street (50-80km/hr). When i drove on the mountain, a lot of different when i try to do a little bit late braking. Hard to say. Own it you will believe it.
i have a tein 5 stud conversion with AP 4 pots and they pull up like a mongrel.... the hardest thing is finding rotors for them they need to be machined i run 92 M3 rotors but you can never have good enough brakes i say
