Question for the experts here ...
I'm planning ot get a set of toda c cams and need to know the minimum compression required to support these cams.
How would I go about getting this required comp ratio?
The motor is currently running 11:1.

So there's no point in running C's in standard ITR motor ... ?
Hell no would need the full package, high compression + more fuel + a whole lot more.
I agree with Jim80y. What car is it for anyway? I assume dc2R. Anyway you cant just put more agresive cams and say "that will do" because you will increase engine wear. You gota get set of different Valve Springs to cope with those cams, more fuel as jim said, higher comp pistons. And with that its comon sence you have high quality headers, intake and a fully tunable ECU like HondataS200.
But if your motor is stock and your planning to just change the cams to a Toda C's, bad idea.

Just to let you know as it doesn’t seem to be common knowledge…
Spec B camshafts actually suit most B18C engine combinations better than Spec C camshafts.
This is not to say that spec C’s won’t work…
Moreover, that to out power Spec B camshafts in a B18C using spec C's...
There is much work to be done...
Remember...
The component list doesn’t make the engine powerful…
It’s the combination that matters & it’s the little things that really count…
Also… Combination is nothing without good tuning…

To clear the air abit .. I have some mods basic mods done and wonder if the Toda C's suited my application.
mods to my B18cR:
- intake / exhaust / headers
- high capacity fuel pump
- power fc (not fitted)
- toda valve springs(not fitted as waiting for cams)
Will the above items be enough for the C's? Anyone run a similar setup?
How will I go about bumping up the compression? Will CTR pistons do the trick? What's involved in getting them fitted?
Anything elase that I'm missing here? What sort of gaskets will I need to replace? Buy?

To achieve maximum performance, a form of programable engine managemet is required...

Adrian can you use the Toda 85mm B20 piston kit in a resleeved/rebored ITR block?
If so what would the C/R be?

That is, piston profile, cylinder head choice, head gasket thickness etc...
Assuming the use of the TODA pistons, a 0.6mm head gasket & B16A cylinder head… (Without change to the chambers)
Your compression ratio would be in the region of 13.2:1…
Special order 85mm pistons of the same profile would deliver 13.5:1…

Does anybody know the pros/cons of using ductile iron sleeves with a quality machined piston such as a Toda in a daily driver please?
If you're not increasing the bore size beyond 81.5mm
Re-sleaving the block isn't nessesary.

I would like some more information on what I would need to do if I wanted to go to a 2.0L for a B18C7.
Any chance of you writing up a spec/process guide assuming all Toda gear :)
PULP is no problem, assuming full programable aftermarket ECU.

Adrian or someone else. from my understanding more agrresive cams open the valves more and longer. why does your car need to run a certain CR to make them work?? how does it tie in with each other?
i know the b20 block is weak. but if you resleeve a b20 and b18, arent you on the same playing surface?( so to speak)
