Can anyone tell me if there is a huge difference between the EK4 and DC2R braking in terms of stopping power.
I'm finding the EK4 brakes are so weak compared to the DC2R? Or am I just expecting too much from the EK?

Yeah at least the caliper and rotors are more bigger than ek4, and ITR got strong brake booster too. Can't expect too much for an ek4 if comparing to ITR, you may consider upgrading it to ITR brake system but you will need to change the front lower control arm i think and actually ITR caliper is quite heavy...
What's the current setup and what tyres are you running with the current setup?

i think ur expecting too much from the ek4
the level of braking from the ek4 is like the dc2 non type R
therefore its like comparing dc2 vti-r brakes with type R
afaik, the rear brakes of the ek4 are same as gli, so only the fronts are slighly bigger than normal civics

Are the front calipers and rotors in the EK4 larger than the GLi/CXi's at least?

if its all oem and nothings been changed then THAT brake setup that was put there by HONDA is sufficient.
ek4 or whatever.
once you increase your power/motor on that vehicle then do you need to worry about ur braking power.

Re trackday, i will need to fix these brakes beforehand as im not too confident with this brake setup. Hence the reason for all these questions.

Better pads and slotted rotors in the EK4 will make braking power comparable to the standard DC2R setup. The heavier unsprung weight of DC2R calipers, rotors and pads is a disadvantage to be considered here too.

the only reason why i woud upgrade ek4 brakes to itr is cause its cheap. 150-300
I found that 3-4 consistent hard laps of Wakefield and the brakes start getting very sloppy.
Keep in mind the rear calipers are tiny!
Im going to upgrade to Motul RBF 600 and Ferodo DS2500 if all goes well for next CC day.

What brake setup are u running? oem?
Try upgrading... i can break into 1:16 and constant 1:17 with better brakes (pads and fluids) and jsut ITR springs, kopnis, street tyres
They proabably feel soggy cause you over cooked your fluid. (passed boiling temp).. If you upgrade the fluid and pads it would be good.
The caliper does the job... ITR would def have a better brake feel and less warming up- instant bite.... but ek4 brakes can brake pretty well if you upgrade the fluid and pads

Remember that the lighter your car, is the better and longer your brakes will perform...
In DC2R or CTR, Their brakes are definately bigger than Ek4 but how ever EK4 can also improve their braking distance by just changing braided lines, Sloted disc, Pads, brake oil. Or, take out ABS and put in brake stopper as well. Anyway, Rotor alone can improve quite abit.

ek4 's roters and caliper much smaller even the brake pads' surface area ar much smaller. however after i put the endless ccx (50-750 heat range) brake pad and cusco brake stopper. my brake goes better and more responsive.

For those using their car for mostly street/light track application, what pads do you recommend? I only want to spend $150-200 for the fronts.

It's all depends how hard you push the car and how hard you step on the brakes, if you are looking for good lap times, you definitely need more better rotors, pads, ss brake line, fluid, caliper and etc. Oh one more thing, if you are driving ek4 and you wanna upgrade to ITR brake system, it's better to get ITR MC and booster as well, it will give you more stronger brake power.
