best pads for street+track

best pads for street+track

hi guys... looking for some brake pads.. most likely to run with stock rotors... they going to be my street pads + track use... looking for something that doesnt fade much on tracak and doesnt eat my rotors for breakfast lunch dinner ....

EBC Green
EBC Red
EBC Blue
Endless NA-Y
Endless NA-R
Endless NA-M
Endless CC-X
Endless SSS
Ferodo Performance TS2000
Ferodo DS 2500
Ferodo DS 3000

anyone has any experience on good pads? or can recommand me a good set for my use? well... and last point is i m pretty tight... dun want to loose an arm and leg for it....

stay away from EBC green stuff. They will eat your rotors and they won't last too many days on the track. I'm running the Euro X from Endless and I'm more than happy with them. No fade at wakie and don't need heating up on the street. No squeeling and no problems with excessive brake dust.... but I don't really care about that. Bad point is.. they do cost and arm and a leg. IMO your better off with Ferodo Ds2500.. its a good meduim.

hm.. I forgot.. but I think my friend with a clio sport got them for about 300 for a whole set... front and back.. should be around the same price. I'll post up tomorrow when I get in touch with him.

I've been running the Ferodo DS2500s on track and street - been very happy after loosing brakes on the track with a set of Pagids... Mallala is particularly hard on brakes.

As good a cross over pad (the Ferodos) as you can expect I reckon. Where around $200-220 from memory for a front set on the CRX.

no such thing as good for street + Track.

if you want something just nice to brake on street, get temperature in between 50c - 400c.
If you want Something Hardcore on the Track, Remember, Slotted Disc, braided hose and good brake oil is a must. get 200c - 600c...this are real Race pads, and extreamly dangerous on street...

i think is best to have 2 sets of brake pads....

i had endless sss on my astina for track and its a good street and track pad.. and its not that expensive either... i got it frmo centrax in brisbane for $300

but for what you need its pretty good coz civics are light so will pull up pretty good.

i think is best to have 2 sets of brake pads....

If you have 200-600C pads on the track with stock discs, you're going to be causing warpage/cracking and eating very quickly into the discs as racing pads are usually semi-metallic.

so would u say the Ferodo DS2500s would be ok with the stock disc? i want some decent braking power without spending too much ... hopefull something thats alrite to run on street as well... i know i m askin abit too much ... but all these ll deepend on $$ ... i can always run on my bendix for st use if i have to ...

my brother runs the DS2500's on the street in his GSR, they are fine with stock disks and stop well. Havent tracked the car yet though so cant comment on that side of things (although i hear they are a excellent track pad for something is really in between street and track).

Had some endless track pads in the front before that without realising (came with some brakes with put on the front), they were dangerous on the street...the car basically didnt stop unless you had the brakes toasty hot!

Yes, DS2500 are fine with stock disc because it is not a semi metallic pad. It works not only by biting into your disc, but by adhering to the discs.

Yea, thats what i've said dude, read my post again pls...
i am comparing a 50-400c and 200c - 600c pad...

50 - 400, i said good for street
but 200-600c pads are dangerous, need to change all those slotted disc bla bla bla...cause they are mainly for tracks...hard braking..

plus also, i don't believe in pads thats said start with 0c...i think they are crap..hahaha...

hey |N|, call "V sport" and ask for John, 9679 8644 for your ferodos. They also stock endless and Hawk pads. I have read that hawk pads are well respected as well. Tell them that you found out through Circuit club.

i m using endless y-sport, they r ok for normal drive but i prefer endless ccx, very shape resposible even u hard brake a lot, still reliable :thumbsup:

i got ccx w/ my stock rotors

I am driving ek4, now with ccx on my stock rotors. they work with no problem on track (queensland raceway sprint). never overneat never lock brake. the only thing is too many brake dust on my wheels. but thats alright just clean them every week.

Even go on mt. neibo, brake pretty good w/ responsive, reliable and powerful. there ar many 20km downslope u-turn corners over there. my brakes still pretty good.

I bought ccx half a yr ago, they cost me AU$400. they ar import fr hong kong. :wave: :thumbsup:
