From what i was told, this is normal.Quote:

I am sure someone will give you a better explanation.
its all about the engine running rich up top with the super safe factory tune.
theres too much feul pumped through and not enough air to burn all the fuel and it goes out the exhaust
this coupled with the oil squirters working overtime some oil will be burnt and will exit through the ehaust......its totally fine coz every lude does it.
if it stops thats when u shouild be worried
ur VTEC is SMOoOoOoKIN y0!!!!
lol
sorry i duno why its doin that..
when in high cam these "oil squirters" activate, because at higher rpm you need to keep the engine lubricated very well. the conventional oil delivery probly isnt as refined for high rpm so theres oil squirters in our motors....dont ask me how the hell these work coz i wouldnt have a clue but i know theyre there.
but the moral of the story is, your car is fine. its completely normal if its just during vtec. once tuned it might not do it as bad, but as racinghonda jokingly said to me when your pulling away from someone just call out "go go gadget smoke screen"
thanks all happy to know my car isnt dying ahaha
i was also wondering u noe how u can get a vtec controller? if u change ur vtec to kick in at say 2k rpm will that increase the cars time to 100kmph?
Yeah go try it, you'll be the first person in the world to set the Vtec to engage at 2K rpm.Quote:

one of my mates had some probs wen he put in the vtec controller, and when he took it off.. vtec kept kicking in at random rpmz :S:S
yeah ah no, mine is set prett low but its all very well tuned to allow a very smooth power delivery. 4100 is as low as youll really get. in our engines vtec changes the timing at which the exhaust valves open (as at higher rpm its better to have them open earlier than at low rpm), why have a DOHC engine and only use the high cam? hehe
vtec is a very powerfull tool if in the right hands, just like a turbo if you dont tune it right youll suffer some power delivery issues. its all about sitting it on a dyno and running it over and over and over till you find a good/safe tune, in our case a flat torque curve and smooth power curve.
r u sure dude? i coulda sworn the h22a has oils squirters. like pretty certain. might do a google now.Quote:

once again im pretty sure the h22a has oil squirters, the h23 does NOT.Quote:
That statement is not the plugs but the OEM H22 oil squirters themselves?
normal for all DOHC hondas to blow some smoke as the second cam starts up!
