DA9 doors
so i need a pair of splits up the front of my car
ive always been adiment that ide get a pair of precision response kevlar splits, as they r fantastic value for money.
my problem however, is that after measuring the space from the glass (rolled down) to the mounting bracket... it looks like i wont b able to use them as they have a massive magnet, and i plan on keeping the stock cover, which means no thicker mounting brackets.
so for all u da9 owners, wat splits have u used that actually fit, and how have u found them in regards to performance, and installation ease.
cheers.

I have those splits in my da9 in the stock holes. A spacer cut out of 16mm mdf gives them just enough clearance.
-
Hahaha.. quickly answered..
Spacers work.
Fit my focal splits.
-
do the spacers allow u 2 keep the stock speaker covers?
-
you will prolly have to make some custome spacers
-
I have RF 8's in my da9 doors, mounted to 18mm mdf, fits with the window re-spaced back.
-
mine are just jammed in the door...not even scrfewed in...i should get to fixing that...o well :S
-
i have alpine tyre R splits in my doors, with i think 20mm or 22mm spacers they fit inside the stock covers no probs (altho i have since modified them slightly) and they clear the window
-
awesome
looks like ill b makin sum spacers... just wanted 2 make sure that the spacers wouldnt affect the covers.
cheers

i got boston accoustics splits no spacers needed, and kenwood tweeters plus another corssover for the fonts.
-
speaking of which... where did u ppl put the cross overs?
-
Mine are inside the arm rest held on with stickaflex.
-
i got 2, ones in the plastic thingo thats on the door, when u take off the door trim and the bigger crossover is at the arm rest with blu tak:P
-
yea my crossover is in the arm rest... but i actually screwed it into the metal, my tweeters are mounted in the black plastic triangle where the mirror is
-
mine is placed inside the door panel wrapped in plastic bag for water proofing hehehe. further up close to the door hinge inside the panel. just be carefull with the placement and fitment coz if you don't it will be squashed with your window down.... ( this is if you dont want to show off your expensive pairs of splits with a hi-tech cross over) I've got boston Acoustics pro.
