EG, CLucking noise
heres the story. (Title should read CLUNKING, mods plz fix... its 230 in the morn)
Driving to uni, noticed a tapping noise, sounded like something come loose and tapping on the fire wall. On the way home, noticed it only happened under decceleration.
Next day i noticed i can feel this tapping, through my feet when i rest them on the floor while driving, confirmed by the passanger.
On the way back home the noise became a more a clunk, sped up and slowed down depending on vehicles speed, now not only during deccelration but also during corners at speed 50+km/h.
at slow speed (5km), Went full lock left and heard a faint noise at constant intervals. Looked behing the wheels.. CV boots look like new BUT noticed the rubber boot that covers the steering rack (ON the drivers side, visible when car is turned full lock left) seems to have splits.
Thats all i can tell you for now. I will be able to get under the car tomorow, ill take pictures, maybe that will assist in diagnosis,a lso i might be able to go into the mechanics.

oh man that post was hard to understand.
but it sounds more like a suspension problem. check your front suspension for loose bolts or broken parts.

duck stuck in ur engine bay??? haha jk. something to do with the cv's id say, does it increase with engine rpm?

combination of both broken engine mount and worn wheel bearing ??

What do i check fo?
Does the gearbox sound normal?

hmm its wierd.
it could be a busted CV. it doesnt look/sounds like an engine mount to me. def something in the rotating assembly... check all ur belts and pullys.

maybe jack the car up and spin the wheel by hand.. see if you can feel a knock or hear it. that may help you pin point the problem.

cv boot.. the little condom things around it are cracked ?
and black crap is coming out? or spitting everywhere?

go to your local honda dealer and have them check the car over for you.

i reckon its ur cv joints. proly just seized up ova time. how many k 's on ur car? and according to u, the boots look new... which means they have been changed. youll proly need to get new driveshaft assembly's or get urs recon'd.

Hey mate i have just had my EG in for repair with a clunking noise, more so when i was braking, and sounded like it was coming from suspensionv found it to be control arm bushes.
