Taken it to do a 1/4 mile run yet...

Someone did a 14.4 with steelies on this forum, but its turbo now!
dude, i wouldnt say fck the B18C based on your 1/4 times cos they are very average for a B18C in an EG. not only that your Hp figure is very low and your mph is also very average. if i were you i'd get your engine looked at cos its under performing considerably.Quote:

got gsr b18c in my eg and i love it, only thing is i now need a turbo! but its off the road again just got it towed home cos i busted the front ball joint :(
btw 15.56 is a very slow time for a b18 in eg...unless it had heaps and heaps of audio and rice on it...havent dragged mine but from what i have seen people have run b/w 13.8 (worked) to 14.5 (stockish)
I had a EG with JDM SiR B18C.
I know for a fact it can beat hyundai Excels.
Come Sept ill find out what itll do for me.
Ill Gtech it before then too just to get a rough idea of what to expect
me and some OH boys are going to the runs in a few weeks, so we'll see...

Whats an EG weigh,its between 1000-1100kgs isnt it?
yeahh i belive 1056 for a Hatch and 1086 for a sedan... thats a close guess sedan isnt all that much more then a hatch...

What gear box are u using??? its only 4mph more than my GSi i would think just the weight difference even if they had same power would give more mph.

Any ways ive learnt one mayor lesson from modding my GSi... no point buying this and buying that because if one of the parts doesnt work well with the others you wont be gaining anything and in some cases go back wards, not that my GSi is nearly back to stock (only mod is 2.5' exhaust) it feels just as quik as before.
So my only mods for this motor will be skunk2 intake and ITR or CTR cams then turbo.
Then il look at changing the exhaust once it starts to out flow it.
i've got a b18c2 with skunk2 manifold, b16a gearbox and hondata road tuned usin a wideband.
havent lost to a teg or prelude (vti-r's) excpet for the turbo ones.
no dyno's or 1/4mile times yet

i run 14.4 with a b16 (I/H/E) in a heavier EK, then snapped my CV. Would have done better if i had a couple of runs instead of just 2. There's too many varibles with it comes to the strip. Very hard to say, only one way to find out though, take your car out and try for yourself.

you've mistaken though, CTR box has the same ratio's as normal B16 gearboxes. Only advantage is LSD. Anyways good luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes.Quote:

Locote - have you got the swap completed yet ? am keen to see how this goes.. am running 14.6" in my JDM B16 EG5 at the motorplex - and that was before header.. so although i am NOT a fan of the 18C2, Ithink you should have a platform that will give you much more pleasure than the old girl..
where'd you get your swap done etc ? what ECU are you running ?
Swap at honbits, its nearly there i think itll be running saturday night.
ill be using a stock SiR ecu for the mean time.
Hoping to get low 14s stock.
But ill be putting a toda header in it as well as a skunk2 pro manifold, lightweight flywheel(in today) and a 2.5inch mandrill bent exhaust, and still trying to decide what ecu to tune with.

it can easily be done alex, as many have shown BUT if it is not done correctly, will not last too long... tuning ETC is VITAL
