waste as in having a car way more powerful than pretty much n/a tuned b18 out there?
waste as in making the vehicle drive in such a way that every time you get in it, you can't keep your foot off the gas?
waste as in making the car actually not slow?
waste as in seeing what happens when you actually have some torque?
lol your mad if you dont do it!
you will have roundabouts doubled your power!
It IS a waste of money...
Modding cars are a waste of money!
Cars a depreciating objects in our lives, we'll never get the money back...or if you do, its quite rare.
It all depends on how much YOU want it.
I did it, not VTEC but ey, results = AWESOME :)
you dont have to spend the money Q did to get the results
If you're going to keep the car.Quote:

Sure, why not.
Just be sure to shop around & be very cautious. Don't rush in to get it done.
Use the best components you can afford & make the job as comprehensive as possible.
That is, cover all bases. 1st base is thermal management if you want the thing to last.
Once it's completed, the tuning will make or break it.
They can be the most hilariously fast things imaginable or an absolute pile of crap. Shop wisely & good luck. :)
yeah.. ill be keeping the car for a while and im sick of my dull vtec sound. i used to have a type r and a vtir is much slower.. compared to my modded old dc2r. so i need power.. if i get 180kw atw ill be happy there.
mate if you dont reach 180kw on a turbo setup give yourself an uppercut for the parts you selected! lol
my advice eith go with a set up that you know will make power.... and get as much professional advice as possible such as above ..... whist sticking to a budget.
ONce your on boost.........It will put a big smile on your face...
if you like the idea of having ur 180wheel kw dc2 beaten by another dc2 with 135whkw NA power on street tyres at the drags, then go for it...
lol maybe if the 135kw driver is an awesome driver....i suspect you are talking about blackdc2....jason, who has a mad ass sussy set up and really wide front wheels .......lol beleive me xtercii i have race high money high power N/A cars and lol they dont have a chance
nah wasn't refering to blackdc2, his time of 12.7 was achieved on slicks anyway. Just from all the time slips I see around ppl, you rarely see good times achieved on turbo fwd cars on full street tyres, at least their times don’t justify the amount of power they have.
And to be fair, I don't doubt that these turbos would beat na on rolling starts or in gear take overs...
^Reason for that is that most FWD excercising that sort of power, have issues putting it to the ground...tyres, suspension etc.
Wheel spin galore in the lower gears make for an average 60ft time, all ive seen is roughly the 2.0 second mark.
FWD are known to have relatively ghey traction in comparison to other type of cars.
turbo it dude
just for the sheer pleasure of the blow off sound haha
if ur going for 1/4 mile times it will probably be not what your expecting as people have said, puttin the power to the ground is hard.
it all comes down to driver ..... as q ball said having a good susy set up help. You cant launch them like an N/A car....you have to ease it on... if the tyres start making more then just a chirping noise you know then that you have stuffed the pass cause you'll be wheel spining up the strip! and that doesnt make for good times you right.... all it comes down to is driving
correct ive seen ppl with 200kw and run a 14sec passQuote:

One thing a few people overlook is traction. Anything above 160 at the wheels and you can kiss good bye to be able to having your foot flat on the floor in 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
Other than that though, it's awesome. The sound of the spool and VTEC is crazy. As Adrian said, you just have to do it properly.
I've got a 1994 Honda Integra VTI-R that's turbocharged. The car is prepped by Croydon Racing Developments, so no bodgy backyard jobs/tin shed mechanics here.
The car made 144 kilowatts @ the wheels, and ran a best so far of 13.5 @ 103 m.p.h, at W.S.I.D.
Quick enough to keep up with a few lightweights. ;)
Hows the turbo FWD compare on track against cars like 180sx and Skylines ??
I know its about right suspension and setup but equivalent setups how did the turbo teg compete ? For the price range itll probably be cheaper to go for a 180sx if your looking at boost. Not having anything against Honda at all, just my thoughts.
boost it YO!
How much boost r u running??Quote:

Anymore boost than that wouldn't be safe, even though the combination is also running some mild fuel set up modifications. ;)
im guessing you have an avo kit?Quote:

meh suspension cost me $100 for king spring superlows
Put it this way, I love driving my integra turbo and love having that power.
Its different and people buzz out and appreciate your car more than these skyline drivers. My 148kw is more than enuf power to make me happy and beat a fair few cars, Eg. stock r32gtr, beat it by 2 carlengths. My only concern is your thinking of boosting a vtec, only reason why i didnt buy a vtec 2 boost was because engine replacements were 2 expensive. If i blow a GSI it'll only cost me say $695 for a new engine quoted by hondworld in melb. So if u decide to go turbo, do internals if u wanna keep it but dont say i didnt tell u so when 1 year down the track your cars up 4 sale because small things start to break because your car wasnt setup for this much power. Just remember be sceptical when getting advice from ppl that have businesses turboing cars on ere because they will always say go 4 it, but your wallet will be sorry if you do it all the way they say, even if its supposed 2 be indestructable. Remember the engine might be indestructable for about 10k that u spend on it but the rest of the cars not.
Hope ive helped u, lol i might hav confused the hell out of ya
cheers
Pat
There's more to suspension then just springs;)Quote:
