good to have one....
it can reduce the excessive vibrations from the engine......
increase the engine responces .
CL7 or CL9 just the matter of the bracket only...
i dont think it will fit due to they have different engines, but im not to sure
I think it's to reduce engine movement and vibration during hard/fast launches from standstill. From what i've read theyr'e a worthwhile install.:pQuote:

From pics of the J's racing one, the power steering pump line will be in the way of the CL7 torque damper. Not sure about spoon's.
where i can find the pix's of j's one?
the spoon will most likely have the same fitment issues as the j's racing one.Quote:

The J's racing one will fit CL9 actually, I have made enquiry via BT rev and he got the confirmation of the fitment from J's racing but not sure about the spoon though.Quote:

It depends on the amount of damping that the damper provides. What brand did you using for the ITR?Quote:

Confirmed from Spoon that it will fit CL9 as well
Anyone has a pic of the Spoon one fitted to a CL7?
How much is the Spoon damper?
330 shipped as per TypeG. He is getting one and should be here next week
good news that they fit... i really thought they didn't judging the pictures i had previously seen... i think I'll have to invest in one of these at some stage.
If it fits, we should give some guiney pig award to TypeG :p
First person in the world to fit '03-'05 Mugen kit to his '06 and this CL7 engine damper on CL9. Unless there is someone else has done it but is not a member of cl9 forums lol
if anything we should give the guinea pig award to PEEKAY34
thats just my opinion though, if this hondatech thing comes thru with the goods
No need for awards... :D
Let's keep to the ETD... I'm excited to see how it fits.. I want one too, it's a goodie investment to have....
Would you notice any diff.in day to day driving with the damper fitted or is it just for fast/hard launches???
I will see how's it go;)Quote:

a spoon etd fitted to a DC5 (rsx) i have a feeling clearance with the PS hose may be similar for the CL9

Thanks for the pics Chris!
The spoon engine mount bracket looks similar to the J's Racing one and if you can't reverse it and use a longer damper, then it won't clear the PS hose.
^ i was under the impression that was the case aswell... I'm really interested to see how TypeG and any others going ahead with these ETD's go about fitting them... who knows it might just (only just) fit?
by comparing the pix with the pix of my engine bar, it looks like it will JUST fit but we can always bend the PS hose. I bend a bit of the PS hose while fitting my cusco strut too.
hmm bending the PS hose may be risky, you don't wanna inhibit the flow of PS fluid... typeg when does your spoon etd come in?
not bending it in angle but just prevent it touching it
when... it will be shipped tomolo hopefully
Why did you need to bend the hose when installing the Cusco strut bar? Mine didn't go anywhere near the strut bar.Quote:

one of the members here also do this in one of his thread.
Well, pushing or not, make sure the PS hose doesn't touch the damper, or at least wrap it up with some material, otherwise the vibration will wear out the PS hose where it touches the damper.
that's for sure man
but as SPoon said it does fit so i hope it fit .. without touching
lol
I'm eagerly waiting for pics. Hehe
^ me too! really interested to see if it fits
so the people say spoon's fit onto the k24? does the j's fit k24??
or just the spoon? how much are the damper?
not sure
my supplier called Spoon and ask
so i hope both parties know the sh1t
$3XX
^ yea - hopefully they haven't forgotten about the location of the PS pump
shipped today with my new toy
hopefully will come on Friday or Monday =)
thing finally arrived today but my car is in the panel shop fitting parking snesor.......
will let you guys know very soon

Nice, can't wait. *crosses fingers*
That diagnostic information unit, how much was it?
hopefully it fits :P
I'd be int.to see how it performs once u get it installed.
have try to prefit it as I dun have the tools to hold the engine mount while removing the engine mount screw, I can say it will fit. It do touch a bit but should be easily fit the problem
saw it today and i want one!! hey Gas(TypeG), since the engine mount has 2 bolts right, you think we can unbolt one at a time and fit the damper mount one side at a time too? if you get what i mean.. in this way I think we dont have to jack up the engine? correct me if im wrong
good news... i think kitbkk made a good suggestion too - i wonder if it's possible to fit it like that?
Hmm, does the engine move when you remove the 2 bolts from the side engine mount?
Thats what we think??
we couldnt take the plastic cover under the engine out (his car got strap belts tied it to other parts as he scraped his car a lot lol) to put a jack underneath it to support. So we didnt installed it today. We actually fitted the bracket(the above one) and it looks like it fits just fine. The clearance between the PS hose and the bracket is around 1-2mm. Then we trial fit the damper and it looks like it will fit too. Wait for typeG to come answer it. He is having a party lol.
We just too scare to do that as while we jacket up the car to replace the header, our jack was bended already and doesnt want anything go wrong before the party so I may wait till we are free to meet up again and do it
but from that we can see, the bracket will fit into our car
will fit hey :P so how much did you get it for?
so the bracket will fit... but what about the damper..
MUST fit as there is nth between the brackets
the damper will slightly touch the rubber hose but it should be fine
nth between the brackets?
It's hard for me to picture the fitment in my head - make sure you post pics when you get it on
so this can gain performance wise?
It just reduces wheelhop. It doesn't increase power.Quote:

Hi guys,
Just been reading this thread and found it very interesting in regards to what you all think in regard to the engine damper.
So I'll put my 2cents worth in. As I have installed the engine damper on my DC5 type S the results are.
1) Defiantly less engine movement
2) More in car noise/vibration/steering feel not wheel yes feel as the damper is mounted on top of the standard strut brace.
3) There is also defiantly better acceleration response in any gear any rpm.
4) As for wheel hopping/axel tramp there seems to be less of.
I hope this helps some of you guys I'll put pics and install under Integra next week.
WIth an auto, which doesn't experience wheel hop at all becaause of the torque convertor, then this might not be a useful mod.
can be for a rice factor :pQuote:

lol just thinking about it.... i still got 3 defi gauges in mind. so quite poor for damper lol. but it looks sexy :pQuote:

aww damnit... get it done sooner :(
it fits with some tricky method.
but at the end of the day, it fits in.
WIll took some pictures on HOW to get away from the PS hose
After install it, i feel a bit shock inside while accelarating from 0. Everytime i change the gear, it feels a bit shock (when not letting th clutch slowly). Thank to Promax to install it for me and my new clutch next week in a good price.

damn that really is a tight squeeze.... The damper is on an awkard angle which might not be the best for the damper itself and the brackets trying to hold it in place. The nut being right next to the powersteering hose is a bit of a worry too ...
if you get a chance some more pictures from differnet angles and some more driving impressions would be great - good on ya for giving it a go too
Is it meant to be bolted to the engine mount bracket side at an angle like that? Or was it so you could clear the PS hose?
Could you put the bolts on in a different way so that the bolt/nut with the rounded end is up against the PS hose??
I think engine mounts would be the go here instead.
judging from the pictures on the CL7 it's meant to be straight... It seems to be a better option to get the Jtso designed brackets made up instead.
Currently no engine mount replacements or inserts for the euro which kinda sucks
no that's the power steering hose..
I think it may be possible to reroute the line. I was speaking to Trav (egSi) a while ago about getting a custom made braided line to replace the oem rubber one and he seemed to think it could work - I'll look into that aswell.
overall fitment is just too off for me
