Urgent: Car wont Start :(

Wasnt sure where this should go but hopefully i get the help i need.

ill get straight to the point.
Just wired up my car for a 4 channel cadnance amp i purchased and now my car wont start.

Firstly my car was already wired up for a 2 channel amp, but i replace the RCA's with some stinger wiring as well as the REM wire as they were cheap shit. Then when i played music it all worked fine but when i tured it up over about 30 on the HU (pioneer deh-p 7750) it just turned off and back on.

Then i tryed to turn the car on as i have to work tomorrow morning at 7 and i wouldnt do shit. the interior light and that still comes on so im unsure to wether its the battery or not.

I also disconnected the ground and power from the amp, but it still doesnt do shit.


hope someone can help me before i have to work tomorrow...........

does it turn over ??? but not fire,

does nothing happen when you turn the key ect


make sure you plugged in the factory immo control unit if you removed the drivers lower dash cover.

make sure you havnt bumped the starter signal wire off the stater motor.

try jump start your car? did u play your music without the engine on? maybe because of that your new amp killed your battery, same thing happend to me when i put a system in my car...

my euro died on me as wely today but i didnt get any new system installed though

bro had the stereo running for about 15 minutes and i move the car once or twice

how long can u safely run the stereo without running it flat?

any suggestions for a new car battery?

that all depends on the age and condition of the battery

powerful amp + engine off = flat battery

Now if you didnt run the battery flat whilst running the amp when the engine is off, then you may have connected the Remote-In wire to a constant 12v source instead of using a 12v ignition source that turns off when the ignition is off. Which means that even if the engine is off and the keys are out, the Amp will be running idle and sucking 12v from the battery.

In other words, make sure you have connected the Amp's remote-in wire to the head units remote wire, or an ignition source (such as the ciggy lighter) that only powers on when the keys are in and the ignition is on.

you should have a remote output form your headunit. if u havent already, that should be connect to the amp, following on from what EuroDude.

and about you Headunit turning off once in a while, im thinking itz a grounding problem. same thing happened when i frist installed a HU into a friend's camry. didnt ground it properly so wen i turned up the HU to a point it would just turn off till the HU is started up again. so what you should hav is an independant think ass mother wire that connects straight to the closest point on the chasis's naked metal

and since you were pumping your system without the car on, id say ur bat is dead. If you can hear your car turning over, then its sometihn else.

i have a bone stock stereo in my euro at the moment...

i have the AUX mod in my headunit and my bro was listening to his mp3 player for ten minutes and it was flat.... aint no good news

i just got myself a new battery from trivett honda for a reasonable price

apparently there was another folk in front of me who wasnt happy over the fact that not many places stock batteries that fit his hrv

apparently his battery fits in the euro cause the sales dude was like "i think he just walked off with the last battery that fits your car"

thankfully he managed to find another one :thumbsup:

make sure you're batteries are less than 6 months old when you buy em, the fresher they are, the better

when you buy batteries from a honda dealer, thier usually quite fresh.
as they're a fast moving item, that they sell alot of, becuase of the pre-delieveries.

check all the above,

mayb try check your fuses in the engine bay - possibly shorted something out, if it doesnt kick over or even crank, then possibly dead battery or blown enigne fuse. (alternator or main fuse)

if stereo goes on and all the other interior stuff, then it means u didnt blow any incabin fuse, just check your fuse box in the engine bay and start from there.

make sure u disconnect your amp cables and battery terminals, to avoid any fire issues.

For your Euro, the stock battery with the stock system will last only about 30 minutes, without any starting of the car in between.

Thanks for all the input, turns out it was a dead battery. Its ok tho, i got half the day off work to go get a new one ;)

jump it even and let the car run ( go for a drive ) and see if it retains charge

batteries last a good few years n more

Once it is discharged flat, it will never be the same even if you use a dedicated charger to recharge it back up all the way.
