DC5 Type R Questions

I'm currently looking at some DC5 Type Rs for sale. I looked at a 2004 model built in July '04, so it was close to probably one of the last ones made for Australia. I know that only the 2 front seats are Recaros, but I noticed that the back seats were a standard black colour with some colour stripes in them. I don't remember seeing that in other Type Rs. Is that common to the 2004 models, or do all Australian DC5 Type Rs have the back seats with that pattern as it seems a bit odd and not in sync with the rest of the car.

Can anyone with a DC5 Type R reply and let me know, and give me any other tips or other things to look out for apart from the usual common sense things.

The dealer wants $37,000 drive away for the 2004 DC5 Type R with 25,000kms because of the rarity. I personally think it's a bit high, and insurance companies are only willing to cover the car for around $32,000 which is their market value.

Well mine 2002 one doesnt have red stripes/stitching on it.

No patterns or flecks.

Has mesh bit in the middle.

not meant to be like that

mine are black with red stitching and mesh in the middle.

ask the dealer where the originals are.

check all the panels and under carriage of it as could have been repaired

mine is the late 04 model er.... i jz had a look for u man, the back seat is jz black.
and i think the back seat accross all DC5R are black.

mine are same as the front seats. but red stiching is black. same material is used on the same sections

that pic shows a base integra's rear seats...
don't buy that car.

$37 000 is abit exxy, trying to bargain it down to around $35 000. Tell the dealer you can buy a Second hand DC5S with low KM for the same price. Need to bargain it more man.

P.S Mine does not have red stitching.

theres one one sale on another forum. Lower kms and cheaper than the dealer (comes with alot of goodies).

What state you live in?

What colour is the Type R your looking at?

just had a look at photos of my 04 DC5R and seats are plain black

those rear seats are off a BASE model Integra

lol rare dc5 hey....theres some sharks in them waters.

umm.. there is some cases of purchasees requesting different things from the stock standard car... i was once afta this 2002 model celica that had white rear seats instead of the usual black ones... no biggy.. consider it rare, not much dc5R have red stitchin in their rear seats

must be a joke.....all AUDM DC5R rear seats are black only......As tofu said thats a base model rear.....must be some problem of it.....go around and find sth better......seems a bit doggie.....btw....which state you located bro....

DC2R's have read stitched rear seats :D
You ccan always get them stitched anyways.

it is true you can special order seats, but why would you want to do that for rear seats and why from the factory...just get them customly done later on, you're paying extra for it anyway...

i do have a friend who bought a DC5R with leather seats rather than Recaros tho...cuz he said he feels more comfortable in the leather seats...LOL what a waste of a DC5R

I'm located in NSW. The car is in good condition except for the rear seats that seem to have been changed for some reason. Maybe the car was stolen and interior stripped and they couldn't get original DC5R rear seats. Who knows? Seems very lazy to me and dishonest to advertise and pass the car off as an original DC5 Type R in "immaculate condition".

Anyway, I've been looking for the last year for a clean and original DC5 Type R and everyone I see has problems. I have professional inspections done and there is always some crap or problem that gets in the way of me buying it. There must one out there :wave:

looks like a decent car, pretty nice mod list. just remember that will thos mods you might have a bit of trouble trying to claim on the warranty, depends on what breaks tho i spose.

Good price with those mods! Should check out the engine condition first before you buy.

and heaps of power wont b disappointed for sure

The Car is in top condition,
extremely low Km's and they are the last of the last DC5Rs.
Engine is still in top notch.
I can vouch for this car :D :thumbsup:
