omg... evo of course
Agreed.
Haha.
ebo ftw
as if this is noob, i need integra specific people to answer, not young noob holigans.
type s with the type r lsd (its possible isnt it)
suprizing more people picked evo the dc5 on a honda forum...ahah
ohh evo ftw fo sure
noob hooligans? the evo is a better car, it's quite simple.
evo is the better car all 'round.
have u driven either?
i've driven plenty of dc5's and an evo5 and evo3, it'd even choose the evo3 over the dc5 anyday
lol traitors. i thought this was a forum of honda enthusiasts as opposed to p platers who wish they could get better.
Evo if you want to be a rally boy and like hairdryers. DC5R if you are a true Honda enthusiast and appreicate quailty and the best N/A engines available. I'm not saying Mitsubushi EVO's are not a quality piece machineary but a the end of the day its your friends decision and he's personal taste of vechile. Personally I would buy a DC5R!
evoftwps
EVO! man awd ftw!
if he was a true racer he'd get a DC2R
I know most of our member will vote EVO....but its all really depends on the purpose.....I think if ur friend have plenty of experience on both road and track...pick the EVO.....but if he is still new and wanna to learn to be a better driver...Take the DC5S.....if he decide to go on track as well as it love motor sport....DC5R as beginner and EVO as expert......dun think about FWD and AWD and also power output.....you drive a 1000 HP car doesn't mean you are a good driver.....in the same time...you drive a 200hp DC5R doesn't mean you will to slower then a 280hp EVO.....I mean on track....its all depends on need and experience....
dummass question
heres wat u do..
# dont ask for ppls opinions.. cos ur friend wont give a sh*t .. hes a big boy and make his own decisions..
# DRIVE THE DAMN CARS ! if he still cant decide obviously doesnt know wat he wants still
and IMO id take the EVO 7 .. evo < dc2r < dc5r/s
DC5r over a Evo 7.
if it was a 1-6 or 9 i would go the Evo... but the 7 and 8 are the worst two ever made.
what makes you say that?
Evo mate.
DC5 can't be compared to that.
why is everyone saying saying that dc2r's are better than dc5r's??
i struggle to see how asking people with first hand experience on one, two or all three of the cars named
would be a dumb ass question, or dummass as you so eloquently put it.
The assumtion you made about my friend who so kindly asked me to get some feed back on his choices is nearly as perplexing as your assertion on my intelligence.
Please explain to me why my friend would be so ignorant and naive not to listen to honda enthusiasts
and hopefully owners of dc5r/s thoughts?
Last time i checked ozhonda was a community for owners / enthusiasts of honda cars as well as potential honda owners.
Somewhere were questions relating to honda's could/would be answered and advice of a helpful nature could be sort.
Taking a glance at your post history it becomes evident that you indeed understand the above relating to ozhonda and on numerous occasions
through questions have sort such advice.
Although asking for member's opinions i would prefer it if i wasn't chastised and give such gratuitous advice on; what i should
and shouldn't be posting on ozhonda and how and why my friend would be so conceited as to ignore what has mostly
been some very sage advice.
btw i'm no mathetmatical genius but a < x indicates that x is larger then a, or in other words a is less than x.
Unless you purposely contradicted yourself, i would say you ment evo > dc2r > dc5r/s.Quote:
.. evo < dc2r < dc5r/s
Which by your token would mean that what you have just typed is a pointless post. Thanks :thumbdwn:
having never driven any of the aformentioned... i'd say evo
btw: this thread sux! -and not because of the thread starter!
Well being a DC5d owner with access to a EVO 7 i have say its not a easy answer, what do you want? If you want to Blow everything at the lights choose the EVO. If you value your internal organs go for the DC05s ...
The EVO is raw Sports experience, the DC05s is a tamed sports experience. Have you considered a second hand NSW?
if anyone chooses anything but the evo ur biased...
y not an sti?? equal performance, more luxury features.
Why is it i cant read a thread anymore without someone briging up a DC2R... ok yes, its a honda forum, but in every thread!!
Whether its about "prelude vtir vs integra vtir , or im lookin for an auto, what can i buy? " someone always needs to put there 2cents, --- get a dc2R.
Same in this thread... im not going to say names, but where the F*CK in the Poll Choice , does it say DC2R... leave it out,
and STI... c'mon brother, he obviously ruled out the suburu range, ?... why say that for.
EVO's are nice cars. DC5R handles pretty well. Gotta remember that just because you have AWD, it doesn't make you invincible on the road.
Firstly, u are right in askin for first hand experience on a honda forum. but majority of THIS forum cannot give you much in terms of useful information as the percentage of dc5r/s drivers are small compared to others . u will probably have better luck on the clubitr forum http://www.clubitr.com.au as this forum is specfically aimed at owners of type r - integra & civic and even a few evo owners linger around aswell. so my advice would be to head over there and shoot em this question and see what they say
I have driven ALL 3 (and owned dc2r & evo amongst others) of the cars and i always compare them to the dc2r because thats the car i have had a the longest (up until this date) and many people can relate to this as there are larger amounts of people driving these
My advice and insight may have been very narrow on this occassion however it really depends on what your friend wants out of the car, they can be 2 very different vehicles in terms of costs, maintenance, performance, reliability etc.. i myself am lookin for an evo now.. but only because the issue of money is not so big anymore.. i choose the dc2r over the evo due to the cost of maintenance etc was beyond wat i expected .. one benefit to your friend is that he has narrowed it down to 3 cars.. (2 pretty similar) ... so hes on the right track
oh and btw.. im not a mathematical genius either.. i didnt even do maths at school.. but i work in the property and finance field.. go figure hahaha
Dc5r.
I just think all you people on OZHONDA should relax a little...
Thats just my opinion...
I heard the type s is being discontinued
Evo 6.5----->evo 7!
is this a joke...
pm me if ur friend is interested inbuyin an evo7
hmm.. in all honesty... i think the evo 6.5 tommi makinen special edition is the bad ass out of all the evos!! why!? i guess im just being biased atm... i own a dc5r, yeah it handles ok... yeah, its on par with most turbo cars, yeah it also looks badass... but i guess in the end, its human nature to want what we cant have?? ive never driven a turbo car b4, i guess thats another reason  if ur friend is after outright power, go evo 7, it has soo much more potential for big figures.. alot of wanabe honda enthausists turn to the type R for answers, but they end up getting dissapointed when they realise that its by far no dyno pony...
i see mabe 2-3 evo's a day and i think to my self there is another guy on a 60K loan BANKS ARE LOVING LIFE...
dont realy like evo's and there everywere now but a dc5r is sort of the same except has no were near the power everybody is differant its just what u want in a car
evo. as simple as that
I own a TypeS.
If I was to buy a car again and had the DC5R, DC5S and Evo7 to choose from, I would "personally" still choose the TypeS.
It all depends on what he are after as simple as that.
What other people recommend doesn't mean anything at all unless you go see and drive it for yourself.
I wouldn't buy Mitsubishi, but that's just me.
Where as my best friend would do anything for an EVO9, I do appreciate EVOs, but it's just not for me.
get what u want, not what forumers suggests u to buy. if u feel right in a particular car, then go for it
Evo. I would rather a DC2R over a DC5R
type s
if it was an evo 9
id go for the evo
All though i love DC5R, with that choice i would go for evo ...
but the down fall with evo, so many lancer wanna be EVO every where with the body kit.. which makes me ill fated by looking at it.
