i got the spoon form filter with spoon style kelvar snorkel
just get the k&n... ur on a budget anyways mick!
i agree, the k&N would do the job of making some noise, might not perform the best but the noise is worth it.
went from k&n panel to CF JS Intake...
Noticable differences in noise and performance!
haha oops, didnt realize this poll was for an s2k :(
Its still a paper element and thats what matters.
I purchased myself an AEM V2! Really happy with it. I did quite a lot of research on different CAI kits, and from what i read the AEM V2 was the best value for money out there. Most other kits for similar $$ don't even make an increase in power. AEM claims the V2 makes between 8-10hp increase over stock. The sound is awesome too, it makes a deeper throatier sound below v-tech, but when the 6k rpm hits, it sounds like a Formula 1 car! I love it, wouldn't trade it for anything different.
has that power increase been proven yet?
E.G Dynoed or sumthing
iv proven you loose power with the stock cover off, sounds awsome though :)
i agree...
has anyone here got dyno figures for before n after?
6kw loss on a stock setup with the cover off
Here are 2 graphs, one is Hp increase for the AEM V2, other is torque increase. these were supplied by AEM so i dont know if they had fudged the graphs at all, but looks ok to me!
got injen be4 then change to js racing
injen go hard and loud on vtec range
js racing looks nice and very smooth
didnt go dyno with those so dont really know the power difference feeling wise injen gives more power
and i think injen and aem are the same ~~~~~ they both got the same design
so currently INJEN is the way to go!
the AEMV2 actually loses torque between 2500-3250 rpm, which obviously what you'd normally be using for day-to-day stuff...If I were you, I would just get the Spoon snorkel or a copy of it and keep the stock air box, the air filter is already massive, maybe get a K&N...that way you won't bog down when it's really hot!
this ones pretty cheap.
