Though it can offer datalogging, boost control etc... It comes at a price.
Plus the need for additional parts.
Crossover loom, OBD1 or 2 Dissy, OBD1 ECU, Hondata unit + a bit of wiring & a tune.
 
The Microtech can be arguably had for less.
It should only be fitted as a piggyback on the factory ECU,
No wiring under the hood should be altered. All wiring should be at the ECU.
This will make it much nicer, particularly with cold start & idle.

He may still have a 2nd hand unit to sell from his old set-up.
 
Also be aware that the microtech datalogging isn't anything to write a book about, boost control isn't there & even narrow band lambda doesn't work.
Bang for bucks, it is capable of good power output & quite acceptable drivability when installed as a piggyback.
