FIGHTEX - Best on the market
I agree with Adrian..
I had a set of Fightex Dual adjust on my EG6 and that car handled like it was on rails.. didn't even need skill to drive the car anymore..
had freak show grip...
Will be getting a set of Dual adjust for my AP1 too mate... i reckon u should give em a try..
how much you willing to spend man?
heaps of traders from here can get u most coilovers from japan.
id recommend Tein flex, buddyclub or bilstein PSS9. All around 1.5-2k mark
chop your stock springs
according to another source on s2ki, doesn't the stock suspenion have external reserviors? so wouldn't you want something that would be premium product that would facilitate for everything including that?
i'd say if you afford yourself the pocket money to buy an s2k, then you afford yourself the premium mods.
Tein RS or Spoon SHOWA coilovers have these external tanks.
Also the bilsteins i mentioned earlier as well.
depends what your using the car for...
show or for the track? I reckon you'll find the stock suspension adequate for track work...
cool guys thanx for the advise.....just gotta do my research i guess
G4 racing coilovers from JUSTJAP sydney
$1300
If u got the cash id recomend Zeal or bilstien. Tien are pretty much in the middle of the market for a good quality steet coilover,i love my set. In the end its up to ure budget just stay away from shit made in taiwan really.
Hi everyone, I am new to the forum...
Can anyone help me find a place that can get a quote on (+ order) these suspensions?
I'd like to compare the prices... and anyone has any recommendations?
Bilstein Pss9
Aragosta
Amuse Hi-tech
Spring rates... looking at a relatively softer F8 R10.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Where are u located?
Anyone rate Buddyclub N+?
i agree with you there. Zeal or Bilstein ftw.
As far as bilstein go i think the PSS9 are the best which offers damper adjustments. There is a cheaper version the BSS? which has the reservoirs but dont have damper adjustments
But in the end if its just for STREET use then no need to splurge so much on these brands unless you got some spare cash or deep pockets. Taiwanese brand coilovers such as D2's will do the job for street driving. I had D2's on my previous s2k and they were pretty good for street and the occasional trackday. But then again i only paid 750-800 for them :p
Fly how did the D2 ride? was it bumpy at all?
imo especially for s2k, if u dont need major dumpage or tracking purpose. aftermarket springs shud b good enuf.
hey FLY how come u got the D2s so cheap? were they used?
you could try hsd coil overs they have 3 types start from 1300.
if you want teh best .. it's TEIN monoflex
Thx WhiteAp1.
Anyone tried the JIC suspension?
Anyone splashed their money on aragosta?
what spring rates r u guys using?
Look up Quantum coilovers....
Any Idea good coilover for $2000 aud?
You guys mention about billstein or zeal, where can you get them for that price?
Zeal is about 2,500 for Function X.
JIC is about 2,000
Tein flex about 1,700
I have been trying to look for the bilstein PSS9....
can't seem to find it anywhere... can anyone give a pointer?
How much they are... and where to get them.....
i've come across a deal on JICs
~1700 for the 10 adjustment std model
~2100 for the 15 adjustment top model
Anyone interested? Perhaps we can have a group buy and get more discounts.
The price is attractive, but I haven't heard much feedbacks on how they are... and with the S2ki forum bagging it.... I am hesitant to try them....
Aragosta seems like the go.... but... so bloody expensive.... cannot really justify the cost.... and worried that the 13/12.3 spring rate being too stiff to live with on a daily basis....
I am just really puzzled as to what to get.....!!!
HELP!!!!!!
If you're referring to the Oz S2kI section forget it. Most don't have the intention of modifying their car at all.
If you want real information, frequent the rest of the forum.
I've read the JIC's are VERY good esp for track work, but like you, I'm after a set of PSS9's. There's a set of PSS for sale in the traders section from Yanaka or whatever his name is, but he is so overpriced its not even worth buying. He had them listed at $1500, and when I enquired, they miraculously jumped to $1800 + postage...... and then the thread was deleted with the $1500 price tag. fkn dodgy.
15 step adjustment is like 2000
Anyone with JICs on the car care to shed the light on the ride quality?
And aragosta?
yourfather, any experience with the JICs? or any recommendations?
Help!!
Thxxx
nah man, no experience.
im just a small time dude
I'm holding out for electro-magnetic dampers.
if u can get a set of Zeal's that cheap i'll take 10 thanx, and seeing teins are going so damn cheap, ill take five.
These prices are for s2000 right? New/used???
Teamkiller being in Melb im limited to distributors in vic, again try these guys
G.T. Suspension Pty Ltd
137 Mt Alexander Rd
Flemington 3031
Phone: (03) 9376 0777
....Fax: (03) 9376 4158
http://www.gtsuspension.com.au/css/index.php\
Maybe they can put u on to someone in Syd, drop em an email.
Electro magnetic dampers, arent ferrari using those on the 599?
The rest of the forum does have quite alot of useful info, but i wouldnt write off the entire AU section all together. Ive learnt more from 2 or 3 members in the S2ki AU section, than anyone or thing in this forum. I do admit there are a few that consider clear indicators and an OEM front lip as significant modification, but that doesnt mean you can find help there.
Thx whiteap1.
What product do u sell in vic?
Im not a retailer of any sort. Hunting around for certain parts has made me familiar with their distributors, thats all.
It seems ure having trouble finding/deciding on coilovers. My teins were in the right price range and they perform beyond any of my original expectations. Their adjustable, dampner and height, so if its too stiff u can simply change it, whilst driving if u opt for the EDFC. The type flex have provided me with hours of fun on the road, in the mountains and on the track. Prefect for a daily driver if u ask me. I admit billstein is a better quality product, but the teins more than do the job. Just my 2c...
I can get zeal function xs for 2k delivered.
yeah man thats new price...
Those prices are crazy, when i was looking for coilovers the cheapest i found flex's were $2500, and the highest was $3k. Everyone i spoke to about Zeals wanted $3k and up.
Teamkiller i strongly recommend u make the most of those Zeals, especially for that price.
Eriktufa
is Zeal Function xs the 6 step adjustable suspension?
x is the 30 step right?
what spring rates is on them?
and.... $2000 delivered to sydney?
To everyone
is bilstein PSS9 about 2400?
Yeah I tried to get yourfather some Teins from Fulcrum which are the Oz distributor but prices here are so inflated, I think it was like nearly an extra $800 here over ex Japan
You are better off getting them ex USA or Japan
I just got quoted almost 4k for the pss9...
if thats the price... i think i will toss between that and aragosta...
on the other hand...
JIC TAR 15 adj ~2100
Zeal function x 6 adj ~ 2000
half the price... but are they half the product?!
anymore comments guys?
i'm leaning towards JIC at the moment.... as ppl often say the zeal is squeaky and noisy....
JIC are very good.
Hey guys i eventually ended up with buddyclub racing spec and they are great!!! i ordered them online for $2k delivered to my door str8 from japan in two weeks...but yeh great suspension..much better than teins (my opinion)....i actually bumped into someone who workd with buddyclub oz at parramatta autojoy and he had told me that i had the jap spec ones....i had no clue there were jap spec or oz spec for that matter ...dunno wat the diff is but i saved around $1000 ordering them online rather than a licenced supplier
I"Ve also heard that JICs are more popular in japan than tiens.
which JIC model is good?
there are some on yahoo japan for about 90000-105000 yen....
go for Tein's... they'll never let you down, unless you wanna go LOW??? :)
I have a set of bilstein adjustable coilovers that i might part from my s2k as i am selling. only 15,000klm. Prob let go of them for $1200
so anyone have experience with buddy clubs ? racing specs? and compare with N+?
I just got racing spec buddyclubs fitted. Havent done any real driving on them yet.
But they are nice so far.
I thought it would be unbearable stiffness. They are on five clicks and its firmer than stock, and a lot lower. Got to get an alignment, and tune them to suit.
Thats me! Nice NSX.
You can buy Bilsein PSS for $3012 from any Supercheap Auto new.... or if you know someone there, you can get them for $2260 new.
Staff get a 25% discount, but I still think it may be overpriced?
nice s2k too  at first when I got there I thought is my friend coz he got the same colour and with black OEM wheels too but then I realise your muffler still stock, I heard there is a bit of problem to install it ? thats strange isn't it ? lucky Top One finally find the way to install it :D
Yeah, I dont know what the problem was, maybe thats why the buddyclub guys where there to assist.
has anyone heard anything about these "megan coilovers" think they are 1000aud delivered from the states.
Megan = ebay brand =D
they get some good feedback from the rsx boys but.
I've been doing some research into suspension has well. I was 100% on JIC FLT-FAS but wanted to find out more info on the sort of suspension to get to suit what I wanted to do especially since it's a pretty decent investment. I came across this which pointed me in the right direction
Daily driver, occasional spirited driving, non-competition
Cusco Zero1
Tein Basics
Tein Comfort Sport
Spirited driving, occasional autocross and/or track day
Cusco Zero2
JIC FLT-FAS
Tein Flex
Spirited driving, canyon carving, mountain runs, drift days
Tein Super Drift
Avid autocrosser and track junkie
JIC FLT-TAR
Tein Monoflex
Competition-level racing
JIC FLT-RS Custom Setup
Tein Super Racing
Seems the JIC FLT-FAS is the way to go for me
some of the boys in the states who use the JIC coilovers complain the shocks blow easily...
Tein Super Drift?
Tein Monoflex is basically same thing as Tein Flex.
Flex is discontinued and now its called "monoflex"
For Competition level racing, one of the names that popup often is Moton.
And also in your research you seem to only have, cusco tein and jic.
Looked into Buddyclub? They always have good reviews, what about some Blisten? Kw var2 if your after a more street application?
I came across that info on another forum, so I can't comment on those other brands and liked how they broke it down into the different categories. Maybe we should build a chart like that with approximate prices for people to have a look at??
Thoughts?
ohlins and quantum. personally if i had the money id be aiming at the ones with the external reservoirs....
Yeap, I know, would still call it the "new" flex lol. Monoflex looks better anyway, has a better green colour too it lol.
External resevoirs ftw! However it's a bit of a pain to get to the tanks to adjust them, I have to get on the fly and try squeeze half my body under my car, looking like an idiot lol.
What about HSD for the S2000? They have good reviews from the driftboys, wonder how they would do for the s2000. Talking about the HT series of corse :P The spring rates are 10k 10k.
I think the Ohlins only have the reseviors at the rear yes? Not sure on that one.
that's old ohlins...PCV
the new one is monotube...DFV...im using it...
NICE! ^^ how do you find it???
japan...u want a set? aud is good now...prolly ard 3k landed...
At the end, I got a set of JICs FLT-FAS for 1700.
At the moment... its alot stiffer, but mostly comfortable... but i guess... its also because I've put on all the strut bars, under bars and thicker antiroll bars...
Turn in is sharper now and the tail more controllable... don't snap away as much now.
I will be taking it down to wakefield in early april to have a run.
If anyone interested, when I know the exact day, u r welcome to join!
Still regretting abit not buying the aragosta... (had to pay some other expenses and dried up my wallet....)
Currently looking at getting an LSD and final gear.
Abit off topic... but anyone tried the carbonetic LSD?
and... whiteAP1... can u tell me more about the Kia Final gear - where to get (at kia parts?) - any other parts needed to fit?
Cheers every1!
I know from our STi R that the bilstein PSS9s are an extremely good unit, hopefully I'll be able to give you guys some feedback from the s2000 with them soon.
Shiraz
My friend ordered a set of JICs from the nissan forum, and I placed an order together.
The spring rate I have is F8 R10.
It only comes with non-adjustable top mount... (for the same price the S15's unit comes with fully adjustable top mount... wtf!)
