Has anyone used this on the new civics? Planning to buy a set.
Do the beams project onto the road with cut off points or do they beam unevenly and blind on coming traffic?

I've used one and the cut off points is nice, it gives much improvement over the stock bulb.
I've also turned my headlight adjuster down just a bit so it won't blind incoming traffic
read in other forums that the civics with OEM HID have different reflectors(understandably).
US Civic owners have upgraded theirs with simple plug ins with no problems.
Not ADR compliant here I gather.
there's no problem with the cut off. i got one on mine. it's pretty good for reflector headlights.
just wondering, isnt hid ilegal? do police care about it? im scared to get one
so far the police never done anything about it in my personal exp.
i've been using in my 2 previous cars.
NZ 06/07 sports Civic comes with OEM HID headlights standard. Because they get the "Made in Japan" cars.
I would think that so long as Honda has OEM HID lights for these civic's I think it would be perfectly legal. Not sure about whether it would pass ADR here but bottom line is it is OEM and I personally think it would pass ADR anyway because it has the 'left' reflector design, suited for left hand drive.
If anyone wants these (OEM HID headlights) I can organise a set shipped here from NZ. Just PM me. :)
nah.. it won't be legal.. as HID will need jet washer.. auto-level..
but... who cares?? as long as you set the lights not to be too high..
got HID on my previous car and everytime I got pulled over for RBT or other problems, they never ask about my HID...
Police here are a lot nicer than the one we have in Indo, they will try to find anything to get money out of us (HID, rides height, tint, etc)
^_^
Generally, HID's are illegal if the car didnt come with HID's from the factory. Even if you add levelers and washers.
If you use projectors with your aftermarket HID's then you may get away with it since the cut-off would be similar to Halogens. But if you use non-projector headlight assemblies, the HID light is going to glare out at all angles and blind others, including cop cars opposite you - and you dont want that to happen.
Plus if you have an accident and the other party blames your headlights, your insurance company wont cover your car, since:
1) You didnt specify the modification to your insurance company.
2) You have an illegal modification.
been running HID's (4300k's) in my sport for a year now.
Recently had a P plater hit me and damage the headlight housing and HID light and Ballast. This was all replaced under insurance without a blink.
Check other posts ive put up pics of the Civic with HID's and the cutoff is good with NO glare.
Are we still talking about 2006/2007 Honda civic ? I looked at the head light assembly and its looks like its projector or I could be wrong. As for previous models not really interested.
Has anyone with the latest shape civic put one on?
^ Yeh the new 06/07 Civics have projectors so its all good, but previous models glare really badly.

S2000 projectors with Philips 85122 burners, this is the definition of "no glare".
It doesn't matter what temp your bulbs are, 3000K or a million K, if the headlight housing was not designed for xenon bulbs then it shouldn't be there.
That is correct. Check out this infor from Wikipedia about HID/Xenons
Despite marketing claims to the contrary, HID headlamps' light output is not similar to daylight. The spectral power distribution (SPD) of an automotive HID headlamp is discontinuous, while the SPD of a filament lamp, like that of the sun, is a continuous curve.
The arc within an HID headlamp bulb generates considerable short-wave ultraviolet (UV) light, but none of it escapes the bulb. A UV-absorbing hard glass shield is incorporated around the bulb's arc tube. This is important to prevent degradation of UV-sensitive components and materials in headlamps, such as polycarbonate lenses and reflector hardcoats. The lamps do emit considerable near-UV light.
European vehicles equipped with HID headlamps are required by ECE regulation 48 also to be equipped with headlamp lens cleaning systems and automatic beam levelling control. Both of these measures are intended to reduce the tendency for high-output headlamps to cause high levels of glare to other road users.
HID headlamp bulb types D1R, D1S, D2R, D2S and 9500 contain the toxic heavy metal mercury. The disposal of mercury-containing vehicle parts is increasingly regulated throughout the world, for example under US EPA regulations. Newer HID bulb designs D3R, D3S, D4R, and D4S contain no mercury, but are not electrically or physically compatible with headlamps designed for previous bulb types.
The arc light source in an HID headlamp is fundamentally different from the filament light source used in tungsten/halogen headlamps. For that reason, HID-specific optics are used to collect and distribute the light. Installing HID bulbs in headlamps designed to take filament bulbs results in improperly-focused beam patterns and excessive glare, and is therefore illegal in almost all countries.
Its likely to be a dangerous excersise doing xenon conversions. Just stick to what you have.

I also worry in the future water will leaks in.
why not get this

won't have blinding or cut-off problems :D
its the entire headlight replacement... I'm trying to see if I can get one here in AUS... this is the only reason why I'm holding back from buying the Angel eyes.
hey Andy, where did you find that pic? or the origin of the manufacture? I'm sure if enough people r interested in this, we can get a batch in.
yeh,looks better than angel eye kits,but that is costly,(HID lense+ angel ring+HID bulb+conversion=$$$)

I've managed to find the Factory in china, but they only take bulk orders and are not replying my emails... however, after some pm's on other forums... I've found a seller in taiwan (i'm still trying to get the price from him but he will ship to AUS... his headlights have had good reviews and the cutoff is perfect, fully adjustable (right, left, up and down)
if the price quiet reasonable, it's ok.if a bit expensive and from china/taiwan, may be have to think twice, not because the money (sometimes we had to sacrifice a bit):honda: :honda: :honda: , but because the risk, i worry, within 2years times, the glass will be blur, or bla bla bla.:( :( :( If from japan, if expensive, maybe worth it.
