Whiteline Rear Sway Bar

Hello, this is actually my very first post, though I read this forum frequently and enjoy doing so a lot. I own a 2005 Black Euro Lux 6sp, great car. I have bit of a problem (I think) with my Whiteline rear sway bar. I have done a search but could not find anyone sharing the same concern.

Well, yesterday I was taking of my rims off for a thorough once over clean and noticed that the rear bar was scraping against the body of the car. At the time of installing it did concern me how close it was, actually touching. As no one else complained of this I thought it was normal. Despite all of this I can feel improvements with the bar and seems to be fine, no noises coming from the bar what so ever. I have attached some photos too, can you please let me know if this is normal or not? Could there be a difference with the later year models having the full sized spare? Perhaps share photos of you rear bar installs too. It would be greatly appreciated.

Could be upside down. Alot of bars for honda's have the sticker upside down but in yours the sticker is the right way up.

Doesn't appear to be upside down. I remember contemplating this before i installed it. It is on the correct way, there was no way it would have been able to go on upside, there simply is no room. I'll try to get a full view photo soon, i have a bit of uni work to do but hopefully should be up by this afternoon. Thanks

from what i saw this type of bar wont install the wrong-way-up.
Its the sticker i think lol.

BTW some whiteline products have been known to be alittle different from others of the same part number - id contact whiteline ASAP and refer them to this incident. It might be a once off mistake in the manufacturing process and might only require a replacement bar.

I have tried to take some better photos but is difficult to at home and that rear diffuser in the way. I have also e-mailed whiteline with some picks for their feedback too but they assured me that the sway bar should not touch any body or suspension components what so ever.

When you had it installed, did you ensure that the endlinks are balanced?

I think we should check our RSB too. We should have the same wear as he did, unless his bar was not straight in the middle part (which is meant to be straight).

Update on RSB:

Have spent this afternoon removing the sway bay and re installing it, with no affect what so ever. I noticed that when I paired it with the original it seemed to be a little shorter toward the middle (were the scraping is occurring) If anyone could post a pic of their install it would be greatly appreciated. Whiteline are getting back to me tomorrow re the issue.

have you still got the OEM RSB?If so place them next to one another and see if they look the same.If not,it looks like you'll have to take it back to where you bought it from and ask for a replacement.That RSB doesn't have the bends in the right places.:(

That's what he did......

I'll go inspect mine later and see if there are any contact with the car...

EDIT:
Just checked, mine has got clearance of at least 12mm all round.....

Whiteline got back to me today regarding this issue. After e-mailing them the pics they were aware of the problem and have already sent me a replacement free of charge. I must say they were very quick the respond and handled the problem well. Very happy now:thumbsup:
