F1 losers so far 2007

Isn't F1 exciting this year as who would have thought the much hyped about drivers of 2006 or before, namely Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, have both been underperforming their team mates for the last 2 or 3 races? It wasn't even a small gap either, if you check the fastest lap times and practice times pre-qualifying!

Remember how last year, Schumacher, Alonso and Kimi were known to be the best 3 drivers on the grid. Yet this year look where they are at the moment.

Even I thought Kimi would kick Massa's butt earlier this year. Hmmm.

Now Alonso and Raikky are under enormous psychological pressure... if they l can't beat their team mates in Monaco, I think they might not have the mental strength to become on top ... hmmm :cool:

its good competition this year! it makes it more interesting cuz it isnt predictable.. so close between the 4 drivers.. and overall the other teams are competing well against each other! and hopefully Honda can start to show some more improvement!

Would have been soooo good if Shumacher was racing this year. :(

Well in a way I agree. But then again, Schuey's never say die attitude made it more interesting.

Also, Schuey did admit that if he could choose again, he might not have done something the way he did in the past. But think about it. If you were competing in the middle of the competition too, and you've been racing 16-20 races all year long, and then the championship goes down to the last race...

Think about how that could affect one's judgment I mean, people race and have been waiting to win for the whole year. You just don't want to give up and you end up trying to bully someone else.

Senna was much worst than Schumacher anyway, don't know why ppl adore him so much. Going straight to run Prost off the road, without thinking about the danger. At least Schuey only tried to bump someone on the side. Senna sucks in my honest opinion... He was the best driver though, no doubts. :zip:

Michael Schumacher is unquestionably the best driver ever, he's broken every record!
Ok he's had a few indiscretions (as did Senna) but that comes from having a highly competitive nature.
The races where he started at the back of the grid and finished on the podium is some of the best driving you could wish to see.
He may appear arrogant but he is full of confidence and self belief and that is what made him the best driver ever!

In motorsport, there is no respect. There are only penalties that they should avoid and winning. If there wasn't any penalties for damaging opponent's cars, they would probably be ramming their nosecones into the rear suspension of the car in front.

How would that help one win a race?!?!? Either you'd retire with damage or have to come in for a new nose.

Well if you're leading the championship table and there are only 1 or 2 races to go, of course ramming it into another car could help you win it!

The biggest looser so far i think is Kimi... 40 or so Million a year and he's getting beaten by a 6 million dollar a year protégé of Mr. Todt jr. (And reportedly Schumi himself....)

I think Kimi has been left in the cold by Ferrari this year... (What a mistake it was to leave Macca ehy? Maybe he is suffereing from JV syndrome... Wrong teams at the wrong time...)

^^ Yeah, not McLaren's fault. Kimi doesn't know how to conserve his engine like how Schumacher and Alonso do.

Well Montoya had his fair share of engine problems too or suspension failures.
So it was a bit of a McLaren problem but the team did say they've finally fixed it.

I actually think Kimi is getting there. The times are closer and closer to Massa (sometimes faster). I think he's just a lazy guy relying too much on his 'instinctive' ability rather than using his head or working around the solution using any brain power at all. So he was a bit complacent with the older driving style and tyres. When he learns the car right, one would hope he'll become better again.

Yeah. Back during 2005 when he was in close contention for the championship, you could tell that he gave away quite a few points from pushing his car too hard (due to his instinct of wanting to win). He's different from Hamilton, who knows when to cool it and when you turn the heat up.

Wonder when the RBR cars will start being a bit more reliable and get Mark up into the points and even maybe a podium... Next year perhaps?

I think that says a lot. You could say Rosberg was a rookie last year (but previous GP2 champion just like Hamilton) but he was comprehensively beaten by Webber. If Hamilton can beat Alonso then Rosberg could have been slightly closer to Mark I think.

The way Mark dominates David Coulthard now is actually a bigger difference between when Kimi was teamed with Coulthard, especially in terms of qualifying difference!

Its funny how people always complain Mark falls back during the race. Think about it. He qualifies right up there with cars that are a hell of a lot faster. Of course, his car is going to drop back, esp when the fuel flaps cant close or the seamless gear box becomes a gearless shit box. :(

webbers aiight but cant compare coulthard from like 2000 to 2007 his time has gone long ago

Most drivers are like atheletes, they have times which they peak. Eg, Hakkinen, he peaked at a later age. Before Jerez 97 he wasn't all that flash and DC was quicker. His first win at Jerez and he's world champ the year after. Schuey though is like Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods, freak of nature and consistantly a winner.

IMO, DC peaked way back in the 90's when he was racing at williams and his first season at Mclaren. Ever since 1998 and that first corner saga in Melbourne he's gone down hill.

Kimi doesn't conserve his car. Let alone, he should swallow his pride and learn a thing or two from that old bloke who's in his garage and a 7 time world champion. Massa's listening to that Schuey bloke and it seems to have worked miracles for his performance. The highest paid driver currently and he's turning into Ralf Schumacher Jr. Too much money for too little performance.

Nick Heidfeld 2005 = 3 podium finishes

Actually statistics is BS if you even watched the races. If you want to use Stats, I could equally say 2005 Heinfeld = 28 points, 2005 Webber = 36 points.


The podium finishes is also unfair comparison due to following -

1) Malaysia 2005 = 'Third place was taken by Nick Heidfeld in the Williams. He had been trailing Alonso's team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella, and his own teammate Mark Webber who collided at the end of lap 35. Fisichella was clowing with worn tyres. Having been passed by the Australian (Webber), Fisichella attempted to retake the position on the inside heading into the final corner, but lost control on his worn tyres and spun into Webber's car.'

Result = Fisichella reprimanded. Unlucky Webber loses podium to Heinfeld.

2) Monaco 2005 - 'The following race in Monaco saw Webber take the first podium finish of his career, with third. On the rostrum however, Webber looked noticeably disappointed with the result after losing second to teammate Heidfeld due to the Williams team pitting Heidfeld before Webber, which caused Webber to lose time behind the slow Alonso. Webber had run ahead of Heidfeld all race long and would have been second had the team pitted them in regular sequence...'

3) European GP 2005 - Heidfeld qualified on pole yes but unlucky Webber had contact with Montoya. Besides, most of 2005 Webber outqualified Heidfeld anyway.

Heidfeld did not beat Webber, as they were almost equaly with Webber will having the slight edge. And we all know how fast Quick Nick is anyway, so thats a very good comparison of Webber's skills. :wave:

Geez mate....Weber is the biggest non-achiever in F1. Never has, or will, win a GP....DC has 13 gp wins....he has 4 pts this year..Weber 2...Who's dominating who? Have you ever wondered why Weber has a notoriuos non-finishing record? Or, is it just bad luck and continual mechanical failure. You know....rough driving in F1 induces failure....Why did Williams so willingly let him go?
