Dont think theres any K&N cold air intakes out, just the AEM SRI (short ram intake) fitted in a CTR FN2 according to the following forum

Any ideas where i can pick one up from
i dont know about you but i wouldnt do it since the type r is fast enough for normal roads. I own a type r as well and im very very happy with the performance, any mods will be exterior mods if they have carbon fibre bonett and lips i would certainly get it. I had a bad experience with a ram intake since they ****ed up my air flow sensor in my previous car and since it was bmw the part costed me $800 :( really bad experience
Im not doing it for performance just sound.............
u have to be careful with air flow sensor, im sure it will be ok, ive had plenty of air filters on my previous hondas.
nothing gives me more of a rush than the sound of the vtec at night screaming through the streets!
try the gruppe-M they have one for the ep3 not sure if itll fit the fd2 but its an idea since they both share the same engine

thats a bit odd its facing in instead of out. =9
It's a great sound. A drug almost. I got a CAI on my DC5 last week. Don't forget that SRIs and CAIs more than likely make your car defect worthy. The noise levels far outweigh the exhaust. My Fujitsubo Power Getter is 99db @ 5000rpms. The CAI is 102db @ 5000rpm. I couldn't test the CAI in VTEC obviously because the car needs to be moving, but it gets louder than what I was getting below 5,900rpm.
Looks really good...if you actually want to hear what they sound like here's a link to a swedish site..click under the picture of the AEM intake picture 'Ultan and Med' and watch the video's..

i am looking at buying an FD2 awesome car no many cars on the road look so unusual so that is why i love it, LOL..
anyways yeah i would love to get this intake if i get the car, do you reckon if i bought it and got honda to fit it before i got the car it would be ok.... sound wise bloody awesome who needs stupid turbo chargers and Blow of vavles LOL
Not a chance. Dealers won't fit non genuine parts before delivery. You're better off getting it fitted at a performance shop after delivery. There are always warranty implications if faults can be directly attributed to the parts fitted though. The car also would breach noise restriction laws from the RTA. No dealer can provide a car that could be defected hence why "darkest legal" window tint is all that they will provide.
Yeah well i could only hope HAHAHA...
im going for a test drive on saturday so i dont really know what it sounds like yet.... i guess maybe it will sound awesome without the intake, or maybe i can muster something up from home who knows haha..
Sure as hell though rip the whole intake out then go for a test drive huh and see how the VTEC sounds :)
sounds like a race car after 5000 rpm. There is a video on youtube of a ctr with aem intake and militek exhaust. Any mod i will do to my car will most likely to be the exhaust. the current exhaust is just too quite

Well any Honda with VTEC to me sounds awesome, my current ride a J30A Accord has a CAI and shit this car sounds meaty esp when higher up in the rev range...
really likeing the new CTR guess got to wait till saturday n see how much they want for trade in, AEM intake diffinante if i get the car though
Know any dealers i could get it from???
ive been searching everywhere and still cannot find anyone that sells them, i made a enquiry to KN filters in america they still havent released it yet,
with regards to the AEM SRi, i enquired on the uk website, problem is i think its too expesive its $175 pounds, when u do the conversion plus delivery im looking at $500 plus
well there goes that idea for now anyways..... i mean if you wana spend that much...
maybe we can look at doing a custom job on the SRI and use a KnN pod filter... that is if your really doing the intake for the sound only.. Like me!!
What for? Just wait buddy for one in Australia to be released...no point spending money if all you get is a sound improvement..wait a couple of months and I'm sure a performance shop will be able to supply the AEM intake system and you will get sound and performance improvements out of it.
is this AEM intake, cai or sri?
well that true too i guess i am impatient LOL...
Just would love the sound my aim isnt to get a supa fast as car, and i dun really care if my car gets to 100km's in 7 sec instead of 6sec i just want it to look awesome and sound even awesomer.... LOL :)
true.. that LOL..
just really excited i get like that sometimes i sya things that i wana do but dont really do them LOL.... i prob wait for the AEM intake seems gr8...
any reviews on it from other users or fom other forums??

that looks like the standard intake tube with a Pod filter(KnN, Simota) attached at the end of it.... doesnt look that bad prob a really DIY job at home..... do you think the power and sound would be as good as the specifically designed AEM intake.. i wonder??
But otherwise it looks like he has done a really clean and great install...
That's exactly what it looks like. You can see the fabricated pod bracket and the intake piping is the OEM pipe stretched higher towards the firewall. Would there really be much of a gain using this setup? It'd be breathing warm air whereas the standard box at least has an intake coming from in front of the box taking in cooler air. This mod would be for sound more than anything else I would've thought.
Better off just waiting for the AEM intake better than this OEM intake..looks alright though...no real performance gain.
I think maybe the guy who did it was probly not worried about the power increases maybe he did it more for the sounds which makes such a difference with the DOHC VTEC Hondas anyways.... like the sounds goes from awesome without the POD to Insane with the POD..
So yeah maybe the guy wasnt worried about power more sound, then anything else
Well with the POD in the sound is insane...with the AEM intake apparently pumps out about 99db's so thats pretty loud pretty much instant defect if cop catchs ya but if you do it properly and get a box-casing put around the POD be better aswell because the POD is going to be right at the back so won't be really sucking alot of cold air more hot air from the engine and also if cop looks in engine they can't defect you because you have box around the pod unless they do a decabel test..but meh
