The last couple of times I've gone to the petrol station either one or both of the trip computers have resetted automatically. This happens on the first start of filling up, anybody else had this problem?

this is a feature that you can enable/disable. check the owners manual on the actual steps (can't remember, sorry). affects Trip A only though.
Yes only Trip A resets when you fill up.
As mentioned, this is setup through the dash computer.
To access it, turn the car to ON (dont start the engine), and hold down the info button on the steering wheel for about 3 seconds. You should see the trip computer display change to a menu. Use the info button and trip sel button to cycle through the options and select the settings.
I dont remember the exact location of the option, but cycle through them and you'll find it quickly enough, there arent many options. :)
thanks! I swear it cleared both one time though!
maybe you accidently held onto the select button. that resets it also while driving.
just noticed this recently happening to my car.
trip A was on like 900km or whatever, and trip B was on 800 or so. I went to reset B by holding down the select button for 3 seconds, that worked just as I wanted. Then later that day, when B got to about 50km travelled, I was flicking through when I noticed that A had travelled 10km. I did not refuel during this time, or go into the settings.
So just wondering, how could this have happened? How does the auto reset on refuel mechanism work, I guess when the fueltank is opened (just wondering since maybe something else I'm doing is triggering it to think i'm refuelling)?
I've gone into the menu and set all options to default, hopefully it wont happen again, but anybody got any ideas?
when it goes over 999km, it resets back to 0.
That's prob what happened lol
yeah, i think the fuel usage will continue calculating e.g _._L/100km but the distance traveled will reset every 1000km.
hmm, but then when you see the distance is like 10km its still got the fuel economy stored as something else (that doesn't correspond to 10km). Bloody confusing.
Interested to know how you found the reset after 1000km out, I couldn't find it in the manual
I knew it reset at 1000km because i tried it cause i was curious too, i havent reset my distance travelled for like 6 months, it just keeps going round and round. And i don't have it on the setting to reset when i fuel up.
Yeah i think the fuel economy is stored as something else, but it doesn't display that. Maybe it doesn't fit on the display? so instead it just resets and remembers? I still have the same reading of 9.1L/100km, it just went down recently actually lol was on 9.2L/100km for about 5 months+ =p
I have a CL9, and i'm pretty certain it resets every 1k lol
I can confirm that "Trip B" does in fact reset to 0 at 10,000km, however the average displayed does not reset. (Trip A resets automatically every 1000km if you don't have it set to reset every time you add fuel)
In reality this is a great way to check the accuracy of the trip computer if you also run a spreadsheet on fuel consumption. My findings are as follows & I suspect all CU2 trip computers would be similar.
Trip B was reset to 0 at 10980km & automatically reset to 0 at 20980 with a displayed average of 6.6L/100km. Trip B is now reading 193km & the average is still the same.
So if we break down the figures over that period the total distance was 10173km with the display reading 6.6, Actual fuel used over that period was 710.6 litres which therefore gives a true figure of 6.985L/100km.
As an average we need to add 0.4L/100km to the figure displayed, but that figure does vary slightly from 1 tank to the next.
Whatever way you look at it that is an excellent result for a CU2 Auto, far better than I expected.
can confirm the trip A resets on every refill, and trip B resets every 1k.
great fuel consumption gents, i manage 12.6, but i like driving!
lol 12.6 dam how hard do you drive it lol
