DC5 all the way !!!

DC2R in Aus rocks. Aus DC5R is too detuned IMO.
*Oh no -I'm gonna get flames BAD*
DC2R is the genuine thing - sequels are never as good :)
Except for the Godfather Part II.
terminator 2 was definitely better than the first one. same goes with aliens over alien. :p
the sequals are never the same as the orignial
DC2R
DC5R mos def
Sequel’s are where the improvements made usually :D
yes true but the dc5r has a new 2ltr motor where as with the b18 it has been advanced over the years and have been tuned to perform at its best. whereas the dc5 will still need a bit of time till they recognise its full potential.
thats what i think anyway
i find DC5R's faster than the DC2's
its been proven, and I'm sure James will add something that the DC5's hold a lot more potential... although the DC2 is the quicker car stock.
If your putting money into it, go for the DC5... I mean James got 21kwts at the wheels with a chip!!!
eheh not a chip.. eheh a fully programble Hondata [acronym:0ff81389c2="Engine Control Unit"]ECU[/acronym:0ff81389c2] ;)
but yeah aust stock dc2 vs aust stock dc5... i would go the aust dc2
[acronym:0ff81389c2="Japanese Domestic Market"]JDM[/acronym:0ff81389c2] dc2 vs [acronym:0ff81389c2="Japanese Domestic Market"]JDM[/acronym:0ff81389c2] dc5 i would go the [acronym:0ff81389c2="Japanese Domestic Market"]JDM[/acronym:0ff81389c2] dc5
modifed DC2 vs Modifed dc5 hands down without a doubt DC5 !!
Regards James
Alot of ppl don't like the DC5 (I have no idea why!?) I had a friend called a family car?! DANG! I guess the DC2 is much lower than the DC5?
DC 5 looks so much better, the rear lights of the DC2 don't look nice at all but the front is nice.
I would agree with everything that BLKCRX said. Right on yo! :D
DC2R is hands down the winner as it is much quoted that the LEV on the DC5R stands for "Low End Vtec"........ enough said.
In stock form the [acronym:2e6b45ad0a="Australian Domestic Market"]AUDM[/acronym:2e6b45ad0a] DC2.R but if i we are talking [acronym:2e6b45ad0a="Japanese Domestic Market"]JDM[/acronym:2e6b45ad0a] then definelty the DC5.R.....I much prefer the Recaros in the DC5 also.
did someone just say that the LEV sands for "low end vtec"?
it even says "low emissions vehicle" on the damn car! take a closer look next time mate
... and about the dc5 vs. dc2.....
there's a '01 ITR in adelaide at Nordic Honda for sale... its a DC2R with 300km's on the clock...
its $40,000....
so tell me, this is one of the only DC2R's in australia that hasnt been totally thrashed
vs.
a brand new DC5R (i think i got one of the last ones :D ) with a 3 year warenty for a few thousand more?
BUT... if you could buy the DC2R's brand new, i think i would be the proud owner of one of them, rather than my DC5R
He was kidding....notice the  at the end of his post?Quote:

grab urselves a copy of the BMI Vol. 2
off the top of my head,
The DC2R wasnt developed frm scratch. It was rather refined from the Integra SiR. Whereas the DC5R was basically developed from scratch.
Motoharu "GanSan" Kurosawa interviewed the designer (i think that's his title) of the DC5R and he reckons that in a way, the DC5R is the real Type R as it was developed pretty much from scratch. {You bois decide}
The overall dimensions between the two are not far off under the microscope.
The heavier DC5R is made up with a larger sized engine. {Unfortunately they did not do a 1/4 mile comparing the two, so can't prove this point}
Gan San then proceded to take the DC5R on the Honda test track and (again, off the top of my head) he reckons the DC5R has an improved overall balance and stiffer chasis, however, the suspension was a little soft for an R, better brakes and is fast.
Note
I'm not saying that BMI vids are the bible, but look at it rather as a reference guide.
Both DC2R and DC5R mentioned in this post are JDM, so for the comment of the "fast" and "better brakes", can be irrelevant for AUDM DCs.
amen brother....
BMI vids are the shiznit
but then again, i've heard an argument (from SPOON CEO i think)where the DC5 chasis is based on the stream chasis which is a station wagon or something ??
how much is it for the hondata on a DC5R????
havent seen/heard any comments from Ichishima-san as yet [zeth], so until I do, i'm sticking with wat i've seen/heard. :P
im a race entuisiest so the d2r gets my vote.
dc2r is more raw.. dc5r is more refined and newer..
it comes down to personal opinion.. if you spend a reasonably time in both then you can make a propper decision..
I have and prefer my dc2r for its rawness.. but the dc5r for its 6spd gearbox.. but i think my gearbox is better than the new one.. it just needs more slots :)
He does say all that  but he's driving a JDM DC5RQuote:

ur kidding me aint u? u like the jdm dc2 head? i hate the look of it i reakon aus one looks betta. Also at the same time i reakon my dc2r rawness is more to my personal taste...once again personal opionon...if ur a racey and sporty type of person i believe u would enjoy the dc2r.....
~(,") My 5cent of the day (",)~
i rekon the DC5 is a better everyday car + sports car....
and the DC2R is better for track....
anyways..i rekon DC5R will go harder....hehe
the only dc5r you should even talk about is the JDM version..that is the pure Type R...the one in australia is a joke..toned down version of the Acura junk in america...just re-badged...
The dc2r that was sold in australia will be the only raw genuine type R to hit our shores which you could purchase from the dealer..i have a few friends who have personally imported the JDM DC5R 2002/03 model..and damn the difference in power is amazing...it keeps up with a s2k no problems...we took it to track at phillip island :) (pending the driver as well)
Yes, twin round headlamps are the DC2 Integra's trade mark. :thumbsup:Quote:

JDM headlamps looks very much like a carry over from the superceded model.:thumbdwn:
Driven both, the DC2R and the DC5R in one day, before buying the DC2R.
The DC2R steers so much better than the DC5R, thanks to its far superior front end suspension and a less weight over the front wheels.
The DC5R with the DC2R's front suspension package?????????????????????.
I think, I would have been today driving IT instead of the DC2R. ;)
dc5r is is newer and cost more and it also looks better.
my personal opinion!
Aliens and Terminator are part of trilogys.
dc2 yo
My god, not again!!!! How can you compare the two cars really....
It's like saying "Which is better, a GTR R33 or a GTR R34"
When will people learn that you can only compare apples with apples....
The real question is which one can you afford..
I drive a DC5r so i am bias anyways :p
The DC5R looks good from some angles.Quote:

My opinion is to get the DC5R if you have the cash!
Its a every day car that you can keep for a long time
DC2R is more like a track car, more stiff in suspension (pretty rough on NSW road) :thumbdwn:
Not a fan of DC5Rs, too fat and doesnt feel like a Type R compared to Dc2r.
Plus dc2r looks better imho.
WOW!!!!!!!!!! This debate was very very old. It was like when i started on ozhonda. Who brought it back up? LOL
BTW EVO III ALL THE WAY:D
Compare Aus dc2R and Aus dc5R, dc2R should be better.
Compare mods dc2R and mods dc5R, never have ans.
lets agree to disagree
DC5R:!: all da way:!:
Talk about digging up pointless past threads:thumbdwn:
BAH! AWD
MY04 wrx sti all the way:thumbsup:
I think (and hope) you are missing the V.... should be Evo VIII :DQuote:

Ok I drive a Prelude so my answer wont be biased.
Exterior looks, I like the DC2 better, looks smaller, sleek, sportier. The DC5 looks a bit bubbly and fat.
Interior looks would go with DC5 much more comfy seats, better design.
speak to the drivers who have driven both... like me... and a few other members on this board... no comparison dc2r for looks, styling, comfort, and handling. To clarify my point on comfort, to get the aus delivered dc5r running as nicely as the dc2r stock for stock u might need to sacrifice some comfort... which is what Honda Australia chose not to do...
k20a vs b18c then technology goes to k20a but props goes to b18c...
Dc2 for me
well dc2r are faster than dc5r cause its lighter and if u tune it porperly it will go harder, BUT the dc2r is older which means parts will be harder to find and cost more so its up to you
Thanks for bring a topic that is almost 3 years old back to life.
There is already about 2 DC2R vs DC5R threads going at the moment
But since its been brought back to life...
One of the finer things in life... a DC2r. (my vote)
DC5S all the way, can anyone say "torque steer"
Theres another thread on this topic which is more "current".
