hey man,
had mine dynoed twice... first time at powertune and got 126fwkw. second time was somewhere near penrith and got 106fwkw.

this may be a bit off topic... when on the dyno, would the speed limiter still kick in?
Each dyno reads differently.
Is your ECU a JDM ecu? If it is, then it should cut at 180km/h.
Thats not a bad figure, ditch the auto you will get somewhere in the 120kw area. Not only do those auto boxes slow you down but they are pretty heavy!Quote:

I dunno if it cut out or not when it was being dynoed... but what i do know is i have the speed limiter. I cant get past 180km/hr.
Could the dyno be dodgy? 106fwkw and a graph that shows 196km/hr.
Maybe the rolling diameter of your tyres is larger than stock, giving it a higher top speed eventhough the VSS sees only 180km/h.
I can guarantee you the dyno isn't dodgy. And the power figures are correct. :)Quote:

What was the tyre size on your stockies?
They have never had any problems with any other cars and there are cars on there all the time. The dyno shows true power figures, not some of the happy figures that show up on other dynos. Apart from that the ET's and MPH that the drag car runs proves the dyno figures.
And just to prove it another way 2 VL Commodores with exactly the same setup made the same power and run the same times, 1 from Hi-Comp, the other from another workshop. 2 different dynos out exactly the same amount, I don't think so.
I'm not saying your making it up, I'm just saying the dyno isn't out.

Grumpy Rooster what mods have you done to get 130kw?
It has a standard H22A with a ported and shaved head (comp around 10.5:1). Everything else is standard including the headers and inlet manifold. The only other mods are a cold are feed with bellmouth from the front of the car and a 2.5" exhaust with no cat and 1 muffler. It is run by an EMS computer and datalogger.
Other little things are machining down the balance shafts, and locking them up, no ancillary drives like air, steer, alternator.
In the near future it will be getting some 50mm TWM throttle bodies and new headers.
a typical stock manual H22 is about 105kw give or take a few. Auto version usually have a bit less power.
These are stock figures variance +/-5kw. This is with everything stock
I dynoed mine, JDM prelude ecu, stock engine with CAI , 2.25" catback and got 113kw atw.
mr h22a, you have an accord jdm ecu yeah? as you got an accord front cut is this right? JDM accord engine & ecu combo is 190hp vs prelude 200hp version.
I have seen my speedo go to 190 kph before cut out too.
No. I never bought a half cut. It's a JDM Prelude Engine and a JDM Prelude P13 ECU (200hp). I've never been able to go faster than 180km/hr.Quote:

Yeah its just the stock vti accord box.
I just checked the dyno sheet again... looks like it cut out at 194km/h. It just doesnt seem right. Might just have to dyno it again one day.
My stock H22 (auto) was run up on a Dyno Dynamics (Shootout Mode) and ran 102kW.
First run was with stock d16a exhaust

So on a Dyno Dynamics dyno it would be about 170kw. Thats not bad.
Surely the bottom end is not standard? And what compression ratio? It must be fairly high....

I've been trying to reconcile the power figure and the mods and I just can't see how it can make that much power with such simple mods. By those figures it is making more power than the Alcorns K20 with similar mods. As much as I love the H22 I can't see that being correct.
The only way I can see it making the power is with some huge cams and big compression. Modproject's H22 in their EG isn't even making that power with a fully built engine and decent JUN cams.
Is there any chance that it was 200hp at the wheels? That would make sense.

I have talked to kane a little more about the setup and it is stage 3 crower cams not stage 2 as I listed earlier. The head has had some work done on it to fit everything in and would more than likely (not saying I know for sure or anything) have been planed before fitting
And it has an Import Builder intake manifold, SMSP headers. And a good S300 hondata tune.
Have to remember that it is mated to a B series gear box which will make a difference getting the power onto the dyno compared to a K.
I am trying to get a complete list of mods from kane but have not been too successful as yet.
Here is a little more about the car if you want to take a look. (btw it munched the valves last friday going to the track when the auto tensioner failed and the cam belt came loose, RIP H22. New engine build has already started)

some guys with built bottom ends don't get 200kw (260 hp).
There is a car with more power, but that car had a heavily modified bottom end and the angles of the sleeves were changed to get this power.

A logical explanation is that the power was really hp at the wheels which would calculate to be ~150kw at the wheels. That is the sort of figure that makes more sense.
Then the fresh rebuild with decent bottom end I'd expect in the region of ~165kw+ dependant upon bore, compression etc.

also another thing would be to see what SAE correction they used.. which is not stated on the dyno sheet
i think it'd be impossible for a 4cylinder to get 1300nm of torgue! not even 6litre v8s crack 1000 and they have a shit load more gruntQuote:
