FN2 CTR Light bulb type ?

What sort of lights do they have?

Eg. H1, H4, H7, 9005(HB3), 9006(HB4) etc.

Edit: Found answer, H7's!
I was looking around google and stuff, no help. Found the manual and looked there... got the answer....

if you are going to change the bulb you need a small hand to change the right light since it is a very tight squeeze to get into the light. Otherwise if you have big hands you have to move the battery

Plan on getting HID's.
But what do i do for hi beams? Hi's are a H1 bulb, but i dont have to get 2 kits do i? Ive never heard of people getting 2 sets of HID's....

I could just use the MTEC 4xxxK H1 halogens aye? Because no way in hell am i spending the money on 2 sets of HID's if thats the case.... (they dont even come in highbeam do they lol? apart from H4)

How much are you paying for HID's and where from? Also how long would it take to install them..because I know it took sitta quite a bit of time to put them in.

I'd leave the highbeams alone since you don't use them often. If you use highbeams only for flashing, then the HID's life will be decreased as they don't like to be turned on and off for short durations.

mine was just under $200. took me about 2 hours to do it because of the tight space on the right

$260+$20 postage from BT-Revolution (forum trader) Or atleast plan on buying that kit for now. Dunno how long install wud take, would have to see :p BT-Revolution takes a while to reply, and 1.5weeks delivery time. So im going to have to wait atleast 2 weeks... =\

And Aaronng, i didnt know that turning them on and off (flashing) was bad. But ive decided to just leave the hi beams, or maybe change to MTEC 4xxxK halogens or something. Probably just leave them how they are. :thumbsup:

I personally wouldn't have clue about changing lights on my car..so would probably have to take it somewhere to get it done. But the CTR has H7 type lights, dont they? and you would recommend buying them from BT-Revolution?

Yea H7's, but iuno about buying from BT-Revolution. He is taking a while to reply....and his delivery time is 1.5 weeks so im going to have to wait AGES and i dont think i can ? Might look else where for good kits :p

They come with instruction manuals, so im sure you would be able to work it out. But taking it to someone who knows what they doing is always good :thumbsup:

its very easy, just plug and it goes. You only have to drill a hole on the cover to get the ballast out and get a place to stick the ballast. ill put more pics if u want

this is the left hand side light. I mounted the ballast in the small corner. This area doesnt have a flat spot to stick the ballast properly so i put some 3m tape on the bottom of the ballast and drill 2 holes on the plastic wall and zip tie the ballast there.

These are the problematic right hand side. As you can see there are not much room at all to manouver your hand in there. You dont use your eyes when installing the bulb, you use your sense of touch since you can not see anything. i mply stick the ballast on the side wall of the light housing with 3m tape. Although this can also be done on the left hand side but it is very close to the drive belt.

Looks hectic..im definately get them..when i do we all gotta meet up and go for a cruise. I'll try talk to some other CTR owners and organise one for a couple of months, when uni exams are over and everything. Any ideas on other companies for HID's boys, in sydney?

ebay? i got it off ebay for $160 included delivery but my friend got it at some place in kingsford for $300 installed, same installation as mine, they also drilled the hole in the cover and place the ballast in the engine bay. They are also the cheap chinese HID but hey they do their job so im happy with them. The HID bulb might be chinese brand but the ballast is osram which is quite good

What does any of that have to do with anything?I dont care if you've been here for 2 years and know more people ???

I thought we were talking about personal opinions here, or are you talking about using HID's in non-HID projectors and oncoming cars with HID's without the projectors shitting you etc ?

it gives you shitter light output than regular halogen projectors dude. sure there's light everywhere, but its not where you need it to be. you can see shit 400 metres ahead, but the road in front of you isn't quite so bright

How am i meant to know this if i havent had HID's or w/e ?

Is that due to no reflector in the bottom of the light so the light reflects upwards, or something like that (read it in another post like 20 minutes ago) ?
