I only managed a 14.9 with a 2.1 60ft on a mild 20 something degrees day.

Pretty good to get 14.2 from VTi-R, I did 14.7 with type R (I/H/E plus coilovers), but than again my mate bought the car of me and pulled 14.3 with it, I guess he is better driver when it comes to drags hehe
My other friend has VTi-R he went once for drags and pulled 15.5 (I/H/E) and riding on 17s

You should be running mid-high 13's with those mods... you'd probably get that sort of time if you had a proper ecu + tune.

Sweet times slim.... this jsut goes to show why b18c cant get into the mid to low 14's with I/H/E + a good tune. Anything is possible ;)

i find out fridya night im on my way there! i last ran a 14.9 3 years ago with no mods except for a untuned vafc n a muffler that wouyld probably only make sound! now i have sussy, lsd, short ratio box, mugen headers, exhaust 2 1/4 inch. and intake in stock box and RE55s... we'll seee how i go, will keep you's posted! and i agreee great thread!!!!! hands down! anything lower than a 14.5 ill be happy! but just quietly confident 14.5 shouldnt be a hard task for all my mods!!

Moving along- I don't think circuit semis are necessary. I was pulling consistant 2.10-2.16 60' times on street tyres (both goodyear eagles and yoko c-drives). It's more in the way you have the shocks dialled in, and how ham fisted you are with the clutch off the line.
Fatboyz39 and benson were getting 2.0's and 1.9's with semis i believe, although they did have an LSD thrown into the mix. All else being equal, there should be little difference; soft compound with stiff sidewall vs hard compound with soft sidewall.
Drag Radial is the way to go...
but u need lil bit more power to see the full potential of the drag radial..make quite abit of diff while launch...alot of factor does come to play when u wanna drag..every lil thing that u do to your car can either gain or lost time..

dc2r ran 14.03 with I/H/E - no tune - on some family tyres
just been doing some practice launches on the factories at at night in preparation for calder tomorrow night and all i can say is they are much much much better than launching with the potenza RE001's!!! may not be as good as a drag radial but oh well. if you come down to calder dont forget to come and say hi!
launching on the street is different to launching at the actual track.
different conditions. It just takes practise. make note of what you do on each launch and try to alternate the technique between each run/launch till you find the sweet spot for your car :thumbsup:
also shifting is an important aspect in nailing a good 1/4 time.

tyres were Toyo Ra-1 and just the usual boot stuff like spare wheel etc

you need to check your stats Andy. 108mph is way off for a stock VTiR... that's k20 and 12 sec pass territory.

addition: after talking to the owner, its a f-up from the track, that 108mph was what it actually showed on the day too.
The whacked thing is, from the same day, a 12.3 on a turbo integra did 112mph, go figure.

my best 60 foot on fridayt ngiht was 2.166! my 1/4 was disappoointing, the timing was too retarded! had it adjusted the follwoing sarudya n it spun up when i slammed it from 1st to 2nd on semi slicks, maybe would of shaved off 2 tenths of a second

14.822.... wasnt the greatest. but at least i beat a S15 on that run, i beat him by .33 of a second, if i can remember correctly. was happy didnt expect to beat him

What other mods have you done to your car during that run, including tires and weight reduction?
headers, 2 1/4 inch press bent exhaust. standard cat, itr box n lsd, homemade CAI, n K&N, RE55's with abotu 18 PSI, and decent sussy, stripped out rear seats sound system etc. but liek i said wasnt running well, we changed the timing on the dizzy n it was running much much better!!! but i guess ill wait till i get more mods n head down n try n break into the 13's once i get cams n a stroker kit.. mmm i liek to think the headers helped but i dunno man! last time i went i got a 14.996 almost stock car (had vafc untuned, wasnt even stripped) but it was driven by my mate. this time he drove too n only got a 15.1,sooo it really doesnt make much sense. thats why i was hopnig to pull a mid to low 14...............
Still, very good effort man! Would love to see it hit low 14's or better
