Any last gen owners of a silver prelude here raced a Euro over the weekend?
Nick - there is a story behind this that you now need to tell ;)
yes.. please, what was the outcome.
He took off the line first before I caught back up... that's about it.. Had a talk before the race and a honk and a flash after to acknoledge... and I forgot to switch traction control and aircon off :( Dammit...
Euros need the high RPM band and speed to catch up... It worked against the Rexes and the Rs.... P.S This doesn't apply V8s aka new BA Falcons V8s and VY Commodore V8s... They got twice as much torque and from a lower RPM... :(
Didnt know euro can do dat, arnt thy jus 4 cylinder.... im pretty sure i race a euro b4.. thy dont go as hard, all i can say is i can see it on my rear mirror.
How much power is under ur bonnet?
Euro has 140kw but is underrated. Euro does 0-100 in around 7.6 seconds.Quote:

OoOO 7 Seconds =P
exellent time for an accord i'd say! =)
how heavy is the euro ??
Depends on model - ie lux or standard. Standard 6mt is around 1390kg
7.6?? Shit, VTiR Preludes must do it in less than that.... which is bullshit, because VTiRs do 0-100 in 8.1 at best, and Euros are easily choppable.
I smoke the same 6sp Euro everyday at Mascot on General Holmes drive....
Just because you beat the same Euro every day doesn't mean the 7.6 time is crap. Honda itself quotes 7.9. Others - including people on this site - have achieved less than 7.9 measured with RSM and G Sensor.Quote:

NRMA specs on auto euro
9.7 sec 0 to 100 km/h
any major diff to manual?
http://www.mynrma.com.au/motoring/ca.../hondaacc_euro.
Yeah - differences are manual 6 speed box, closer ratios, almost 100kg more weight in Auto lux, the ability to break traction on launch. I think these are major enough differences.Quote:

gimme your car n i'll crunch it =p
hahaahha
My best time for 0-100 is 7.2 seconds launched at about 3500 rpms with the spare removed and nearly empty on the fuel guage. I was also quite slim about 55 kg's. This was about 8 months ago.
I tried about 2 monthes ago, not launching at all, and I got 8.2 seconds.
All this is going by the speedo, so I don't know how accurate it would be.
I had a Lancer MR manual before I bought the euro manual and I beat the latest prelude auto VTIR....I clocked a time of 7.3 sec 0-100 in the euro, 8.2 sec in my lancer mr. The prelude manual is not as quick as the euroQuote:

Dude anyone and I mean anyone, knows that Preludes are faster than Euros (both manual and stockish).Quote:

A short while back I had a Euro try me but he wasn't even close.
I timed my car 0-100 with 3/4 tank of fuel, passenger, ONLY mods were Type S intake and K&N Panel Filter... I got 0-100 in 8.2 ;) :confused:Quote:

I didn't take it into the red between shifts tho, so if I did that/stayed on VTEC a bit more, didn't have the passenger, and had less fuel, I think I could get it down a bit :)
a slightly modded euro standard 6mt and sliughtly modded vti-r atts (at least)
are quite comparable
Um no. Any manual Vtir lude will beat a manual Euro(stockish for both)same driver skills.Quote:

if you don't believe me ask vtc, he owns a vti-R 5th gen with atts, and he can attest to the fact that a euro and his car are close acceleration wise.
also, the k24 has more potential to gain power with simple boltons then does the h22a - the 6 speed transmission helps a bit aswell.
I'm not tryin to start an argument or dismiss your opinion.. this is just my experience and what i've come to believe :thumbsup:
Atts are actually slower in acceleration than a Vtir due to the weight of the Atts unit. Im not saying that theres a huge difference, but a Prelude would be still faster, even if its a little. It would be like comparing a Vtir Lude to a DC2R in terms of acceleration.
yea not denying that what you say is true... from the start i have made clear it is a model with atts. A standard 6mt euro vs atts lude = quite compareable, my case ends there and i think you can agree with that?
so far this discussion has been about real world acceleration and engine power (i think)... lets not go into street racing wiht this thread, street racing = lock.
lets just take this to the track to find out. you have a few hidden mods that help you pick up chris. :)
but at the moment in stock form the prelude will lose against any slightly modded car because it chokes up high..
yea true ;)
i still think it's fair to say that the euro's potential is a bit underrated.
When you get your exhaust and new intake on (if you are still getin a new intake?) we'll have to hit the strip and get a time slip or two.
5th gen with hurricane headers and CAI here
14.9! 0-100 7.1 with passenger and stop watch
any euro can do that? .
good stuff!
no euro on this forum has a time slip to prove a sub 15 time yet.
Impressive times for only two powermods - I guess yours is the lighter non-atts model?
Due to changes in the Regulations in this Forum..
There will be no more further discussion in this old but dug up again topic..
 up to whoever bothered to do a search on this old thread :)
SEE how a search can do wonders!!!! :D
This will be CLOSED NOW.... :)
