when you remove your throttle body is it okay to just re-use the same gasket, or do you need some kind of spray for it?
Or just take it off, put it back on, no problem ?

i took mine off without any damage and put it back on no problems...
i read that some people spray some wd40 on it when putting it back on
Thanks alot
taking it off now and wanted an answer. Trying to clean my IACV and its a pain in the ass to get to. So was going to take off TB also to clean that while im there.
Just look at the condition of the Gasket you can get away with doing it a few times
but should just replace it as its cheap to replace
thx Tu88y but iuno where to get a new one, ill just take it off now and clean it. if any issues ill get a new one
Don't put any WD40 on it. If it isn't damaged.....just put it back on.
gasket try supercheap auto? they're most likely to be able to order one in for ya if anything.
Thx guys but i took it off, and it was perfect.
After i was done, i put it back on.
I completely cleaned everything and i still have an idle problem...
buy a new car
hahahaha
you sure thats what causing your idling problem?
Nop,
But it was suggested that i remove and clean my IACV, an while i was there i removed my TB, and cleaned them both, they are pretty much spotless now. But i still have an idle problem
i had anothe thread on my idle problem, but its only when it reaches full operation temp. If its just abit under idle is okay, if its on same place on the guage it just goes up and down, and idles like crap
when was the last time you service your car?
hmmm tooo long...
I really need one, dont know why i dont take it
And yes it does neeed new oil ><
Whats involved in a service ( not a major one or anything )
Oil filter + oil change , check fluids, new fuel filter, change spark plugs an stuff like that?
Because i was holding off on the service because my car is ABOUT to be turbo'd and i was going to change oil filter + oil + spark plugs. My car isnt driven very much now, because it is almost ready for the turbo..
But another thing, it does seem to run abit hotter now, think this is related to not being serviced in a while ?
Maintenance is the most important thing for a car, gotta keep up the 5,000km service. It's cheap when yo do it every 5,000km.
Check the Tech forum sticky for info on servicing and what is required. Idle problems can also be caused by clogged vacuum lines to.
I bought my car on 218,000 now its 220,300 so its hard to say what previous owner did, but im sure it needs a service.
Thx wyn, ill check that out now
Another thing i noticed was, on my intake pipe, a TINY BIT of oil, from my vaccume line to the head...
But i think i read sometimes you get that?
The one from your rocker cover to the intake isn't a vacuum line but rather a breather. Some oil in there is normal.
Just go and turbo your car now
use some rubber gease when placing it back on if your using that same gasket.
thx fatboyz, but its too late, its already back on ....
cant turbo yet, everything isnt together yet.
I might just change oil for now, turbo would be in less then 1000KM, so ill change the oil again + filter when i turbo it.
and beeza, thats what i havent worked out yet. I cant exactly keep that hose there when i turbo it, because its meant to have a negative air pressure for it work properly isnt it?
I'm not sure about Turbo's...
