Got my Civic Type R yesterday
-
Nice, but what made you change your mind from an S2000 to a CTR?
-
nice ride man, congrats
btw - where do you work???
CTR + 'P's = nice job
-
lol i'm 21 turning, just got my green p's late cause i was lazy, would of been on full by now.
I had heaps of jobs, lol too many to name. Even had 2 jobs before doing hectic shifts. Now i only have one, working @ telstra.
i wanted the s2000 from day one, but in the end i think a new car would be better in the long run.
-
Well done:thumbsup:
Go to love that interior:thumbsup:
-
lol congrats mate. Welcome to the FN2R family :D
-
good work mate
But I would rather a S2K over the new CTR to much of the euro styling. Don't get me wrong both cars are nice but I prefer the s2k
-
-
very nice
got my civic from collins rockdale too :P
-
darkshines haha, really? where abouts do you live, and if you don't mind me asking how much did you get your one for =)
-

i live around earlwood, i did not buy the civic type R tho just a normal vti-L i wish i did :P i got that for around 29,000 all up with most of the options ctp and everything. How much did you get your type R for?
-
very nice indeed. Good choice, id love the s2k too but for around 40k they have had a good flogging and have done a head of kms, out of warranty and a at least 3 years old!
prob heaps more insurance too!
-
Sweet ride!
Pity we didn't get the sedan CTR here. I think it looks much better.
And SUS2K, I think you made the right choice. I too prefer a new car to a second hand one.
-
lol, that was the exact same dilemma I had.. was considering either a second hand s2000 or a brand new CTR... in the end I realised you just can't find any exceptional examples of s2000 (championship white)..so went with the CTR :P LOL.. although I think I get a lot more stares than any s2000..which is mostly a bad thing IMO..especially when parked in the city at night... had a bunch of 10 or so teenagers giving me the look just the other day :P
-
hahaha really? you bought the red one Reothe? I was going to consider red. Yeah 10 guys looking @ your car is a no no, but a different story when there's 10 girls =) an't that right? lol.
Yeah! if it came in sedan, i will get that without a second though. Because i'm not a fan with that back of the CTR's back. We should go for a cruise sometimes.
-
surely nice... s2000 or ctr both looks good :D
-
If i was a chick! :)
i'd prefer the top down over a space ship anyday...
-
you suppose to get the red one dude. i have been to 2 dealership, they tried to sell me either black or silver.
One of dealer was saying red color is bit rare, since currenty out of stock. LOL i dont know why or either is true or not. I reckon blacks looks kewll thouggh
so i have been waiting since last week, this my 2nd week waiting still cant get the car and i already signed the contract and deposit before australian day. DAmn
-
lol yes it is true about the reds being highly sought after and practically out of stock. It's extremely hard for any dealership to get hold of any red ones now that the initial shipment has been fully allocated and they're not sure whether any more shipments will occur. I bought the last red my dealership had off their showroom floor last year. The black is easier to get hold of..and looks alright if you want an understated look that won't shout in your face..but the silver is a big NO NO... looks like a toyota camry with a pot belly and a fat ass :D LOL
lol..sorry just realized ur in nsw :P anyway.. took a look at your tyres..seems like there's a lot of sidewall wear already (cornering too fast already? lol) .. by the way, you better check your tyre pressure..the dealership that sold me my FN2R forgot to adjust my tyre pressures and all 4 were pumped up to 46 PSI..which is why I had a sore bum from an insanely stiff and jolty ride on the first few days.
HEEHEE< SPACE SHIP FTW ANYDAY!!! u have no idea how much of a chick magnet this fat pompous slow arse space ship is out in town until you own one :D Have fun with your CTR..just be cautious of teenagers getting too close with their grubby hands.. lol
Oh btw, here are some pics...shame we're in different states..so hard getting FN2Rs for a photoshoot together :(

My milano red ctr (bought in september last year) ended up costing me $45,200 driveaway with typeR mats, footwell accent lighting, and custom plates. I've heard they've come down in price recently due to slow sales and the black and silver ctrs are being sold at around $42.5k driveaway but the reds are running very low on stock and due to the slow sales they're not sure whether anymore shipments will be made. Hence, the premiums charged on milano red and also the hype surrounding the possibility of the FD2R being shipped over to increase sales.
-
i reckon you made a bad choice...should have went for the s2k instead.

hahaha maybe not true... i asked this question to my gf, she prefer the FN2R and then I asked to her girl friends and most of them like the FN2R...
maybe its not a chick magnet... maybe its a CHICK CAR??? oh nooooooo...
-
LOL NOOOOO IT'S A CHICK MAGNET!!! :P:P:P I doubt many chicks drive manual cars that rev to around 8000 rpm :D
-
Nice car man, i was thinking about a Type R or a Rx8, but if it was a s2k or a type r i would go for the Type R only because its a newly released car and the s2k is getting a tad old
-
p platers reppp.. nice car ayee... i shudda got one.. ahh.. too bad i have settled with a 05'type S oo the leatherrrrrrr :P

i saw one. some blonde chick in a black fn2 on springvale rd.

-
lol, screw that.. i'll just borrow your ek4r :D heehee.. and cut the roof off for a convertible (weight saving just the way u like it geo) ;) LOL..actually.. i'll wait for ur rebirth first :D

wow i got much better deal than that (floor mat+window tint+$50 street directory+custom plate) it depend on how you dealing with the dealership. Prolly because this dealership was pushing me, since i was thingking to buy new subaru but ended up with type r (cheaper petrol).
if my bro the one who buy the car, prolly he will end up with silver because he cant wait to take the car. most of dealer they have silver in the showroom, i dont mind silver as well but they (2 dealers) already said red is rare
so i wont buy the car if they dont give me the red one XD
Hopefully, by this friday i get the car
wow is the car the "chiqs magnet"?? have you tried pick up girls on the street in city??
also i saw red one around the paramatta, could it be your car aye?? :honda:
-
-
lol yeah it's a chick magnet. Most of my girl friends hate s2k for some reason, but i still like it. But i am loving the CTR.
I think Reother lives in melbourne and not sydney lol. What was your deal bodass? i paid 41k drive away. i wanted 40,500 but somehow those cheeky dealers made me paid another 500$, added that new datadot on my car lol.
-
guys, off topic: can sum1 actually fit on the back of the FN2R? :p
on topic: sum1 in eastlakes has one, I saw it everyday... MAKE ME JEALOUS!!!! :p
btw, SUS2K... is this the datadot thingy? http://www.ddcm.com.au/page.php?id=12 :p

hey philip, what abt the driver? :p just curious coz Im around 6 as well, but when I'm driving on my FD2 (not FN2R unfortunately T-T), ppl in the back of me complains about theres no enough leg space... and she's way shorter than me... :S
-
lol, yeahthats the data dot! Like i said on the other topic, they back may look small, but it is very spacious! i though it'll be crampped as hell. The driver seats has alot of room aswell.
-
i got price ***** drive away as in the contract, new car but 97 compliance, red
not demo :o. (floor mat, custom plate, window tint, $50 worth of street directory is their last offer because i was so fussy i kept asking for extra otherwis i didnt sign the deal) :o
-
err you mean 07 compliance?!
38990 is a good price!!
-
wtf u serious? i just talked to the dealer the other day at eastern honda and they're still selling them for $42.5k drive away on the black one they had on the showroom floor. lol, maybe sydney got more batches of the ctrs than was allocated to melbourne since they're not in a hurry to offload them and the reds are running out of stock.
-
@Philip Lee
sorry lol i still feel living in 97's
@Reothe
yes i am serious, actually i didnt want to buy the car my bro asked me to go for test drive type r that day because it was long weekend (aus day), but we ended up buying it lol. Prolly the dealer saw my face i didnt look serious to buy.
So this dealership said to me if you take this deal today, otherwise tomorrow you wont get this price anymore. they tested my seriousness
My brother pushed me as well, he said he saw from carsales, people still sell 40k private, but we get new car
so yeah i went ahead with the deal but still i didnt look happy that day.
BTW hahaha yeah why the heck red is so rare,
to be honest i was asking yellow or white, thats the true color of type R, i dont understand why they make silver black red only, what a holden colour XD
:honda:
-
lol, only championship white is the true type R colour theme.. anyway.. so you ended up getting a silver? lol.. when i was buying my car i considered a silver demo cuz it was only $39k drive away last year. But it looked so bad.. much worse than red or black. I think if you don't care much about colour you could easily get a cheap silver CTR since dealers find them extremely hard to sell.
-
i havent got the car yet , i still on waiting list for red
prolly they dropped the price because they tried to get rid of 07 compliance
yeah its true the basic price around 42+ up from other dealer i first visited
couldnt go lower than that
-

Well i can't afford a brand new s2000, i atleast want a 2006 model. But yeah i will get it in the future, maybe do a trade in, when i get more cash. Cause i still have my eyes on one =)
-
lol, maybe wait for the next s2k if they ever make one.. after all the current one is a decade old already :P the audi tt roadster is a much better option IMO if you're in the market for a brand new s2k :P
-
nice ride! i know ur enjoying it.. space ship ftw! hehe
-
lol, did anyone watch top gear just then? they sooo should have used the FN2R for their spaceship..haha..but then it would've been too much of a waste :D

-
****ing hot. I LOVE the new CTR.
Congrats and have fun with it!!!
-
with 40+k to spend, i rather get an evo9
-
Fit, the thing is you dont have 40k so envy the ones who bought their cars and congrats them. Just curious, have any of you hit the redline and how fast is it really? Is it or does it feel faster than the Integra type R?

It does feel more torquier than the Integra Type R.
Redline at end of 1st is 62km/h and at end of 2nd is just shy of 100km/h.
I've recorded a 0-100km/h time of 6.7s so Honda's official time isn't a lie despite all the "unachievable criticisms" out there.
I'm seriously considering reflashing the ECU for an instant 20kw gain and an earlier VTEC crossover.

ppl say, choose the color (of whatever) which on the ads.
internal company already did research and carefully choose
means, best AUDM CTR = RED !!!:thumbsup:

lol i didnt know that, all i know i have been to 2 honda dealership i was searching who can get the red one faster (both are out of stock)
so i have been waiting for 4 weeks to get red one. finally, got it (november 97 built) maybe the last end of the year just built before chrismast holiday lol
i am guessing prolly more colour in coming year, since i saw from youtube fn2 type s in uk has more colour
-
CTR power and handling are both good. I tried them on the corner. But I really really dont like the price :D
