Perth Civic Owner

Hi Everyone,
Just got on my second year of P's and thought i had better get my own car, been using parents all this time. Ne way my hard earned $$$ managed to get me a 1997 GLI Civic... just clocked over 120,000Kms and it is almost in new condition :) well almost...
Currently have a custom sound system in it installed by ME! and a new rice cannon of doom... yeh i know... but i wanted the sound and couldn't afford the full system :(
Currently looking at getting somthing nicer than the stock rims.
Im at uni so dont have much money to spend but interested in the community and other pplz projects.
Props go out to all the other Honda owners in Perth Hills area.

Part way through install... Green neons behind amps, floor is also carpeted, looks sweet @ night sounds good to :)

Front in the arvo, can see the damage :( Headlights are very bright good for cruising round in the hills. must say i prefered the look of the old ones with the green parkers they looked really cool.

Yup Car was dirty and pics were taken quick but thats my first car paid for all by me with no loan :D

Yeh i wanted to get a silver or black hatch but this came along (Green sedan) and was in such good condition that i decided to get it... Pics will come but at 10:18 at night they are not going to look to good :P
So mayb tomorrow afternoon...

i got mayb 1 or 2 mm till i hit the wear marker on my current rubber so now seems to be a good time to upgrade.
I would prefer 16's over anything else... I had a quick look through the threads here and it seems that 17's somtimes rub :( is this true for stock suspension or is it only after its been lowered.
Anyone in WA know where i can get some 16's with rubber for under $1000?

Yeh seems there is alot of 4 door love out there, im liking it lol ne way those rims are now on the way, soo hopefully they will be here some time next week. Which is good i think it will really add to the look of the car :) Will post pics wen i get them on

how about two toned blue black? sacked on d2's carbon bonnet, full budy club kit with ITR conversion :) rear JDM black lites?

Yeh im a uni student so money is wayyy tight, i allocated $10,000 to spend on the car and that has all gone (most went on buying the car itself) some fairly ok sound gear in it as well so that was more money.

Any thing else that needs to be done will have to be budgeted out of my weekly income which as a student is well... not alot.

The final plan is a high gloss black respray, a fairly plain kit all round enough to be differnet but not stand out too much, the angel eyes which i picked up for $91 will be replaced or at least modified to have eyebrows in green leds, green underglows...maybe i dont know. lowered slightly over some black and crome 17's... Smoked taillights are also on the cards.

Inside in black leather with green trim (much like the fusion powerplant audio currently in the car) Custom pods on the doors, read a how to on the forums here already, Green interior lighting, Green cold cathodes under the seats and in the footwells, (these i have from computer case modding days just need to install) The entire inside i hope to have black, With green highlights and guages... Yep black and green is the theme.

Basically i want it to look sleek, stylish and almost plain untill the doors open and the stereo and lights come on... Then the show car comes out :)

As far as what is powering it goes... i dunno love the turbo sound (spoolin and wasting) but this is not my area of expertise so no plans there as of yet.
However that being said planning on taking out the resonator for the air intake this weekend and doing |N|'s getto CAI!

If anyone can think of a way to mount spotties without it looking a completely retarded please let me know as i drive alot in the hills and roos can be a problem... Mayb there is an aftermarket front bar like a lancer or a wrx that have those placements in them that someone knows of. As you can see by the pics on the first page the bumper has some damage... need of lights for roos steps in here... so the front end is probably the next place to see some attention.

As you can see the list is long and the finances are short but hey

Yeh i like the plans are good i just hope that i can acutally get the funds to pull it off. Anyone know of a well priced body kit place in WA need to look into how much it is going to cost to get the front bumper replaced so i can start saving... it really drags down the look of the car, would be nice to be able to mount some spotties on the front to for practicality purposes, if anyone can recomend somwhere then shout out.

Yeh im in a course better than engineering as well, Im doing mining engineering which means im part of WA school of mines!
First year is completely different to normal engineering!

I have noticed that mine is currently one of the longest introduction threads, mayb i should start a new one somwhere for my car build, its going to be a slow one lol but i still wanna show it off.

Couple of people told me to join WAHonda so just a heads up i have done soo, was going to put up some pics on the new wheels but got up late and have to work on mining and met assignment then go to uni will try to get them up soon.

bebeq ive seen your car in northbridge before... nice. don't see many jdm style eg sedans around :P

ah thank you (i must goto timezone too much). its really nothing special at all, and the paints gone bad so need a respray and would like to drop a new engine in later...much later :P

Someone², you have the exact same car as me! - 97' GLi sedan. Except I'm not really interested in doing it up at the moment :)

Currently dont have the money to do it up... so i guess we are sort of the same, really would like a new front bumper tho it looks soo bad. I dont know if i want an aftermarket one or mayb it will be cheaper to get my current one repaired... hrmm if anyone knows of a nice looking front bumper for a civic that i can mount some spotties in let me know. then i can put my old headlights back on and look better and still have plenty of light.

Got my camera back today,dad was borrowing so i might get some pics up tomorrow, see how we go for time hey...

Thanks diffuzn was looking at going turbo, not too sure now, might get a motorbike instead...

u'd probably enjoy the motorbike more

there are some nice sohc turbo setups but if you want power+reliability ur better off dropping in a b16/18
