Wait has your FD arrived yet? Is it FD1 or FD2?
noo..tis fridae...
wads the diff of fd1 and 2?
sorri ima newb...
was an impreza owner...need to buy mods asap since i miss my impreza tooooo much!
oh...so its an FD1 then
its a VTi
600 for axle back?man thats expensive..gota save up aloooooong time
lolz
why would you want to buy the mugen axle back when you could get a custom catback for cheaper or around same price?
wat r u doing guys in middle of the night ?
what were u doing in the middle of the night as well DMX?hahahahha
nah coz i miss the exhaust noise, i know that i wont get the boxer rumble noise..but hey, its guna be summin than quite
oops...didnt c the tym
hehehe
I've installed a Skunk2 Universal Muffler on my FD1. Sounds good, around 5% torque gain combine with my Fujita CAI. Cost me $500 for the CAI and $350 for the Muffler including installation fee.
yeah?pics and sound clip if possible?
was it just an axle back?
I will be getting an exhaust in a months time so i also would like to get some ideas of what is going around (installed by users). So far im looking at Magnaflow or Remus
anybody want MUGEN (FD) tip ? yes, just the tip.
how much?and picture?
anyone installed remus or magnaflow here?
i might get a custom hi tech catback system from hi tech mufflers in sydney i dont know how it will sound tho
If you are going to install a cannon on your fd's make sure its got a silencer. my mate's friend has a fd with a huge cannon w/o silencer. i gotta say its very loud and very annoying. the sound at the back digs into your ears. just a pointer. cheers
^ fd1 or 2?
FD1 VTI-L(no difference?)
why no diff? engine is different
nah, i dun want loud...had enough of loudness in my impreza especially in a loooooong drive and very droopy...thats y i was i was looking at the twin loop.
Bahahahahhahah
JaCe, what I think bodaas trying to say is that its like you have Windows 2000. and then you want to install it to your P1 PC. So its really doesnt make P1 PC faster or slower. It just "new stuff that you install on your current system". ^_^
Correct me if I'm wrong Bodaas..
but the problems is now windows 2000 not available anymore. only xp or vista.
P1 only available in recycle bins.
and i still don't get confused :confused::confused::confused:LOL
mmmmmmmmm but its just a exhaust tho...isnt it trivial to upgrade your ecu? would it even make much of a difference to reflash ecu?
the guy just ask whether improve performance or not
if you said that " just a exhaust", lol yeah thats rite
i didnt say it necessary to reflash. well your ecu already program to run the oem exhaust not aftermarket exhaust
so whats the big "D" to your car performance
i love D
ups sorry, short typed
i mean d for "D*ck"
hahah lol,just kidding
i didnt mean to hurt him
we used to be friends :( lol
Where u getting ur Mugen Exhaust? Its cat-back? Tried looking for something like that in brisbane but its really hard to find.
Noob question: In general, if i keep my pipe size (1.75" i think) and install a universal muffler with same pipe size, will there be low end loss? This is for auto FD2. Or is there a general rule for avoiding low end loss when installing universal mufflers?
I'm going to revive this. As over half a year has gone past.
Who now has a exhaust system on their FDs?
I still haven't found a full system for the FD1... and I've looked heaps. One place is telling me there's a "Shark" branded full FD1 system... but it sounds like a cheap crappy brand that no one has ever heard of it.
Anyone care to share their setup?
even if you get a catback with bigger piping you will still lose power low end
soo what exhaust systems are people using? branded or custom?
i just want a simple (and cheap) looking tip. nothing big like a canon.. i think they dont look that great on FDs.
so maybe something like this universal muffler from xforce?
http://xforce.com.au/img/universal_items/u3_02.jpg
looks a bit like the remus tips but cheaper... lol
anybody live in brisbane and know where i can buy some good and inexpensive mufflers and tips?
im in bris but if i was gonna get an exhaust i'd look at whole thing and not just muffler.. hmm not sure where exactly to get muffler but try 999? and those top fuel 1000 brand ones
also been hanging out for a cat/axleback LOL..
i think one or two of the traders is offering a catback system.
but would also like to know if anyone has a remus installed.. if so dont be shy in sharing your knowledge :)
Shimian has remus... but I don't just want a muffler.
A couple of traders have cat-back/axle-back systems for the FD2, but not for the FD1.
Might have to get researching and have a system made up with components of my choice if nothing comes to market... either way i'm not paying a muffler shop to make one with parts/diameter of their choosing.
are there a lot of options out there for headers on fd1 r18? .. probs hav to get the headers put on, get cat installed + custom exhaust made up all in one go - you planning on something like that mark?

LOL ouch
Well the first one is for FD2.
And all the rest are only mufflers... which are more or less universal anyway.

anybody tried this one?
ive got a kakimoto catback coming in a couple weeks time...so hopefully i'll have it in soon and i'll take some pics...
i saw the BC cat back exhaust on this forum
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98005
Must be muffler only? Or he is incorrectly stating it's for both FD1 and FD2... as (correct me if I'm wrong) they have very different floor plans. Maybe (just maybe) a axle-back for FD2 might fit FD1? I'd doubt it though.
how does a muffler cause loss of power low-end though? or a full catback for that matter =/...
are you looking to get full zorst mark?
Yeah full or nothing...
If thats the case then alright I'll bite. I'll add it on to my list of things to read up on.
Thanks for the heads up.
planning to get a new muffler.. what do you guys think about this
im heading towards a buddyclub specIV (a silencer muffler as i dont wanna alot of sound coming out)... coz its more of a universal muffler, i would need to take it into a muffler mechanic (tuffy mufflers) who would make the specific brackets and prob chop the end alittle to fit the FD
currently looking into a new muffler since the FD2R rear bumper is hitting the OEM muffler, and risk of the paint on the bumper melting
r u going just muffler or full system?
and can someone tell me how just a muffler loses u low end power as compared to a stock muffler?
just muffler... should i get a full system??
buddyclub dont offer catbacks & headers for FD (tat i know of)
oh, i dunno. cos after reading some posts everyone says u lose power low end, but i dunno how much power and how bad.. and why lol..
a full system would cost quite a bit though. im also thinking of just muffler.
what muffler u plannin to get black8th?
planning on an xforce muffler. twin tip one. pretty good price i reckon and seems like a popular and good brand. how much is the buddyclub one ur looking at?
buddyclub spec IV muffler quoted for 500.. which xforce muffler ur looking into? price?
oh, hmm. uhm xforce MP01 (part number). its a twin tip oval barrel muffler. 200 dollars.
