I'm looking at getting the underdrive pulleys but i'm hearing mixed reports about them.Everything from premature wear to crank bearings due to them not having rubber mounting to not charging your battery properly/fully and so on.I'm looking for feedback(positive and negative points) from you guys that have them installed.Thanks.
Have you found an actual user reporting a problem? Euros don't use harmonic dampers in the crank pulley.Quote:

My final thing on them was basically not to do it,it's not worth the risk for the little gain but I really don't care about the gain cause I put the MSD ignition system in my car,no gain but the car is so nice and smooth to drive.So if it makes them car 'nicer' to drive it,that would be great!
Ive read the gains are basically the same as a lightened flywheel, so easier to rev, and ive also read in another post on OH that the steering feels better, because it also alters the power steering pump.Quote:

Definitely a mod I would recommend. I've had the UR pulleys on for a while now and have had no problems what so ever with them. The gain is basically in the accelaration, you definitely feel the difference mid range. You won't see a massive gain if any in kw's as you are only releasing power that car uses excessively for other things like a/c etc ... Although some may beg to differ about extra kw's as I didn't get time to put it on the dyno.
There is no problem with the battery going flat, I am using the standard OEM battery still although I do not have an upgraded sound system. You may need to upgrade your battery if you run an aftermarket sound system.
Pro's and Cons in my opinion:
Pro's
- Nice acceleration gains
- Car feels more alive mid range when accelarating
- Steering feels more responsive I found when driving
- They look good installed under the bonnet if you like that sort of thing
- Replaces some of the CAI losses down low
- No problem with battery, A/C, headlights etc ... no pressure on the battery or alternator
Con's (I'm digging deep here)
- New battery I would suggest if you are running an upgraded sound system
- New Gates Pulley belt to be imported in (This is a must ... cannot use the existing OEM belt)
- Steering is a little heavier when parking (not much though)
At first I wasn't sure whether to do this mod but bit the bullet so to speak and haven't looked back since :)

No problem. I got the pulleys from www.tsxparts.com in the US and including shipping they cost me $440AUS. With the Oz dollar so high against the US dollar now is a great time to order them in.Quote:

So all up for the pulley and belt you're looking around $486AUS, maybe cheaper now though because the Oz dollar wasn't as high against the US as it is now. The Gates Belt part number is K070683.

so all up round $310
the pulleys took under a week to recieve but i got the last one in stock (last yr thou) so may take longer if they have none in stock
