holey **** hope youre not being serious there~!
pay attention class... here is an example of some honda ricers flaming an 'uber honda ricer', both in their natural habitat... what an event!
heh...
hahahahaha
Dude,
Do you even know the purpose of a BOV? Obviously not...
If you want the sound you can buy a little box that actually makes the sound of a BOV. I forgot the brand and website but it's just for the sound that you want. Kind of rice though
KIND of rice? hahah thats the epitome of rice!
hell it goes beyond rice..
its the rice PADDY of car 'mods'
isnt the vtec the same concept as a turbo anyway.. high power output on high revs .. like when the turbo boosts, therz pressure in the pipe charge thats connected to the intake manifold through the throttle body.. hrmm i guess it is a stoopid idea.. but just a thot.. sorri .. im just learnin this shyt..
and BOVs yea i think i know what they for please correct if im wrong..
as you shift gears on a manual transmission. you close the throttle.. pressure has no where to go so it cyclates back in the turbo.. which stops compressor from surging..!
soo with the BOVs.. in the intake mainfold there is a vacum that opens the BOV releasing pressure out from the pipe so the turbo keeps, so even tho u bak the thrtlle up boost still commences,, protects turbo from wearing off everytime u shift becoz of compressor surge and rids of turbo lag!
dun worry bout it mate. there just having a shot at u.
everyone has to start somewhere :D
My appologies on behalf of the forum if you were offended in any way 8)
-rowie
haha rowie thanks mate but its aiight.. rather be corrected then have the same mistake twice..!
well i guess u get the jist of how a BOV really works... surely u can see how it really isn't going to be feasible at all on a VTEC (which is a totally different concept)? :).
yeah dood.. sorri fellas my bad..! i never did the research!..
VTEC is not the same concept as a turbo...
If you search the forum, maybe under Technical, there is a thread of what VTEC is. Find it.
But brief explanation is that it is the variable valve timing in Honda cars. Just by saying that, you can tell that it has nothing to with a turbo, and therefore nothing to do with blow-off valves.
No.Quote:

this calls for the old peanuts explanation.
think of a motor as moving peanuts between 2 bins (intake and exhaust).
to make more power, u have to move more air, or in this case its peanuts.
to do this theres 3 main ways of increasing peanuts/air movement.
get a bigger cup between the 2 bins so u can carry more peanuts between the bins this is the reason for having V8s etc etc
run between the bins faster, so that u increase the peanut movement between the bins at a faster rate. This is the VTEC analogy :)
finally, u can cram the shit out of each cup so that u get more peanuts in a cup for each run between the cylinders. Thsi is turbo/SC/N2o :)
hope that helps :P
What about the Variable Valve systems and Turbo in later model Nissan turbos?

Nissan didn't implement variable valve timing AND lift in their turbo cars.
Makes no diff, the only thing blowing off is the air-pressure cause by the turbo.Quote:

heck even your water heaters at home have one
All it does is stop the air wave hitting back onto the compressor blades of the turbo. You can fit one on your N/A civic but it will never open up.
Just when you thought the gene pool had been totally cleaned out...
hahaha love the peanut concept...
fcuk this!! if only it were so easy to get a bigger peanut cup, run faster and cram the shit out of the peanuts... we'd all have 8second beasts... from the factory.
until the engine bay gets too hot and it all turns into peanut butter.. throw in some bread and out comes peanut butter on toast!
API F20c dood is that meant to be a NA bOV?
pornstar haha that peanut theory told me alot any other peanut theories?
its a BOV noise simulator...
the speaker emits a noise of a BOV at a certain RPM..
those things are available throughout ebay...
yeah i chekd out the site, now i wish i never started this thread..!
Not to mention, it's expensive ... But hey, it's not defective.
lol AP1, what a find! :)
Vtech is NOTHING like a boosted turbocharged car. TRUST ME. The kick back of a Standard 2ltr turbo charged 180sx with a bit of extra boost. I know there is alot of power difference in the SR20DET and a B16A but the kick of a turbo is great :D
Explain to me why they don't invent a car horn that sounds like a BOV?
That will sell millions!
LOL.... ACTUALLY THEY PPL IN AMERICA HAVE SPEAKERS WIRED UP NEAR THE ENGINE AND SOMEHOW WIRED UP SO THAT WHEN THEY CHANGE GEARS U HEAR THAT SOUND... LOL.... CLOSE ENUFF..
PIN01S, is your key board stuck on CAPS LOCK or something ?
haha a turbo will always 'feel' faster than an NA equivalent i reckon... it's true that u feel a big push.
but u know why?? it's coz turbo cars lag like a bitch without the turbo working.
go from turbo to NA and feel the difference :P... NA is much nicer to drive daily.
I think PIN01S just likes shouting. Bloody attention seeker...
The Honda City turbo is typical of all turbo cars that tends to make your statement a generalisation. Small turbos don't lag ;)Quote:
