hey all i was wondering if i should supercharge my 1991 honda integra ls??
its got a cat-back exhaust and a ram pod and cold air intake ... its not much but yeah ... i think that it can go alot more and i wanna push it to its edges ...(without blowing it) so im thinking supercharge .. what do u guys think ??
why supercharger? something different from the crowd?
supercharging your engine wont get as much power as turbo charging ...
depends on wat u want...if u want more low end power then go supercharge...but if u want more topend power go for turbo
i would turbo the car instead..
I like superchargers for the reason that the torque curve is more linear. Balls from the get-go :)
check www.capa.com.au for jackson racing superchargers and vortec superchargers. They have hks kits too.
Not bad, but turbo better value for money and heaps more power.
I'd go turbo charging, but upgrade the reliability of the engine while your at it. So it doesn't blow..
You should be able to pick up a turbo kit for cheap $$ when compared to a supercharger which would be somewhat of a custom job.
As for reliability, theres no need to go into engine internals if your only looking for a power upgrade. A nice fmic, bigger injectors and a good tune will see some really good power increases whilst not risking any damage.

If you look hard enough, you would find heaps of second hand supercharger stuff from the states for real cheap too. Don't get me wrong, I would turbo over supercharger but any would be great.

this is interesting...supercharging Honda engine...my mind is with turbocharging though..try to get a copy of High Octane Overboost edition video..it features a CRX SiR with a turbocharged mods in New Zealand...very interesting...

which ever one u buy you have to think of what you will have to do to the internals of the engine, because itll wear alot quicker with a super or turbo

I would go with the turbo as well due to it having lots of potential for further modz or up grades i.e. Winding boost up! don't get me wrong the supercharger is a good idea more, drivable I would say theres even some kits that you can turn the supercharger off if you wanted to, maybe you can do both???? Low end power of a Supercharger and the top end grunt of a Turbo???? I've seen it it has been done before just too complicated.Quote:
