My passenger door won't lock or unlock itself when I press the remote.
-Is this common fault in the euro where the part is getting old and tired?
-would it be a actuator or do I need some sort of locking motor to be put in?

72155 SDA A01, LHF door lock actuator will fix your problem id say.
Unfortunately it will also magically empty your wallet by about $165 if youre out of warranty.
yeah its an 04 euro
$165 sounds like its a genuine honda, am I able to buy a generic actuator?
Amazingly this happend to me a week ago as well. But the internal central locking button doesn't lock the passenger door for me either. Got to manually lock the door now.
Mine about to happen soon.
Does anyone know if the spare part for it is the same for the wide body accord?
Cheers
Same issue on my 04 Euro but on the drivers side door.
Pressing the unlock button it tends to stick and not unlock first time (all the other doors are working as normal). Pressing it again it will usually open second time around. Getting very annoying.
how ironic, this is starting to happen to my euro as well, the front passenger's side lock is very slow to unlock either using the remote/interior central locking button.
I was quoted $180 by the dealer when I took my car in for service last Friday, unfortunately my car is outta warranty already
Is the actuator the most likely part that is causing this problem?
I am about to spend $180 for the actuator (from Dealer) and get my local mechanic to install, the last thing it to buy it and too find out that it could be some other part in the door.
yeah my 04 acutator just died on me like 2 weeks ago and i got it replaced as i just bought it 2nd off a dealer and it was replace free.. anyway they showsed me the reciept and it was a wooping $320 for it.. can believe it... honda parts are expensive..
yeah common as, saw it happen when I was in dealer land. Mum's did it under warranty. Mine has played up a few times. Waiting for it to die before I replace it
Rob
Just a question, does it have to be a genuine Honda actuator?
My passenger door has died on me...:(
My driver side acutator months ago. Unfortunately the warranty on the car already expired. Honda in Perth quoted me approx $320 incl installation. Since then I have been using the key to manually lock/unlock the door. Too expensive from dealer.
Anyone in Perth know of a good installer if i get the part separately and does anyone know the part number of the actuator for the driver's side?
Tony but you can help me! :D
Im in Sydney and im after a reliable auto electrician/alarm installer to do the fix. I had an aftermarket alarm installed a few months ago but the installer isnt available so i need alternatives. So, can anyone recommend any auto electricians? =)
^can anyone suggest any good alarm installers then? Im located in the inner west, Lidcombe/Auburn area so within 1hr drive im ok with lol
both my fronts are dead now. $180 (actuator) x 2 + $90 (install) x 2 = expensive christmas present for my euro :-|
my driver side door actuator stopped working aswell.
Luckily I purchased the extended 5 year warranty so it cost me nothing.
My drivers door wouldn't open on 3 separate occasions last week. This week its been all good tho. It just had to lock it and unlock it again to work....quite annoying. but hopefully this problem wont come back....hopefully.
Hi got same issue with central locking on the driver side. Have to unlock, lock then unlock it again to make it work.
Question is, can I just buy aftermarket actuator (master) like the one advertise by JayCar below for $11.95 or it has to be HONDA OEM actuator.

Cheers,
Mine just died today as well on the drivers door.
Gonna have a look at it over the Xmas break see if I can fit an aftermarket one in instead as the factory one is way too much.
Does any ones actuator make a groaning noise? Mine does occasionally and I was able to replicate this last time with the dealer. They acknowledged the problem but said they could not do anything until it actually fails.
Mine died early this year too and it is also a 04 Euro.
This sounds like a known fault. For us that the car is already out of warranty; Just wondering, should we group together and sign a patition and make a complain to Honda asking for a recall to fix this issue.
how much to replace it by honda i think mine is on it's way out soon.
Honda (Osborne Park) quoted me $320. Too expensive so i had to put it off and use the key to unlock the door which i find quite annoying when there is central locking for the car.
better choose to see your honda dealer to ask quote.
if you think outside the square, acura dealers in canada sell the acutators for $45CAN. If you know someone who lives there, postage is $20CAN, so for $65CAN you can have the part delivered. :-)

I would consider supporting such a petition if it was worded better and didnt have spelling mistakes...and if the signatories didnt include such names as "anonymous 7" and "fat sl*T"...no respect and credibilty will ever be given to a petition with such signatories
