thats awesome... getting closer to the double ones :D 11secs here we come 8)
Awesome stuff! That is amazing for an N/A car...
Anyone got specs on the car? Pics?
You had me worried the tittle says "Australian"
Much props to Hayden for what he has done in his drag car
good stuff...
u better change the title though!
LOL - I thought I almost saw Chuck cry ;)
No but you almost saw Chuck spend 5 grand hehehe
chuck , u will hold the NA FWD record for a while i guesss....
it aint easy to beat ur record ;)
are u gonna race at drag combat on 17th jan 04 ?
My car is pre 86 and therefore doesnt qualify for drag combat
LOL - anyone got an '87 Civic body that chuck can borrow? ;)
If I find a gen 1 CRX, my car is for sale
I've heard the chassis isn't as stiff on the 1G rex as opposed to the 3G civic - that's just from US autocrossers though. It has to do with the hatch design.
I reckon I could get one down to 660kg's tho
LOL - I don't doubt it.
If not for the short wheel base, I'd suggest trying to dump it all into a first gen Civic - they weigh in at a base weight of 660 kilos ;) I was actually contemplating an EW2 12 valve drop into one of these - they can be made to produce 150bhp with moderate mods such as I/H/E, bore, headwork and twin webbers. Drop Fi into the equation and a (insert dirty "T" word here) could be bolted up to it fo a bit more fun. Re-looking at the wquation, the SOHC VTEC motor will also fit ;)
Yeah shame about the wheelbase.......and engine bay room.......and front suspension........and chances of finding a rust free specimen
the kerb weight of the base EF civics is only around 820 kg...
(although the VTEC ones are over a ton fully optioned)
Yep - the Aussie spec ones with power all and aircon are about 950kg as I recollect but the JDM bottom spec are over 100 kilos less.Quote:

sorrie if this has been asked before
but whats ALB?
and how exactly would you know if a 2nd hand teg ye got has lsd or not?
anti-lock-brakes
teh tranny should have LSD stamped on it - or next time you have the driveshafts out - look through where tehy go in and if you see a shiney steel bar - you dont have LSD...
Another option is to jack the car up (front wheels in the air) and give one of the tyres a turn with your hand. If the other turns in the same direction you have an LSD. If it turns in the opposite direction, you don't .......I think I got that right......Quote:

so in this sense, ABS and ALB can be used synonymously, however, if you wanna get specific - then the individual vehicle types do have different acronynms for their respective braking systems...
o ok ...
ive only ever known it as ABS.
I'll take your word on it tho as im sure you are aware of the two acronyms :)
check the back badges of any 83 to 87 Preludes...
(old school! LOL!!)
Ummm... no    Go look at an EF8/9 with itQuote:
