mmm i paid 17.5k 3.5 years ago, manual '96 VTi-S which had 160k on it when i bought it
Teeheee, thats the reason it was so cheap. 215,000kms with 60,000km supposedly done in the last 18 months (guy was from Orange and did alot of travelling to sydney etc).
Had new discs/pads and brand new tires when i bought it, and in decent condition. As soon as i bought it, i changed the timing belt, only to find it had been changed not long ago - the car had been maintained properly...
paid 14.5 g's 4 my 96 VTI (manual) special ed. a year ago now with bout 109k clicks
$7250 for my 92 cord 140k on the clock
$8000...manual exi...80,000 ks
The holden dealership had $14,990 on my 94 accord vti when i bought it 2 years ago ( september 2002) but i happened to work at the same car yard as a detailer so i got it for $11500 with 163,000km on it. It needed a clutch but as the car had travelled over 160,000km so they were not obligated to sell it with a 3 month warranty. And for the price i negotiated for they said they couldnt afford to put a new clutch in for me. So i would have to replace the clutch with my own money after i had bought it. Lucky for me they gave me the car for a few days to test drive it and the gearbox got stuck in reverse so bad that i had to get it towed. I wasnt going to buy a car with a gearbox that would jam in reverse. Any way the Motor Dealers Act states that a car at time of sale must be able to pass a pink slip and my accord couldnt do that in the state it was in. So they had to fix it :-)
They sent it to a gearbox specialist and it ended up being the clutch that was causing it. The dealership payed them $800 to fit a new clutch ( i saw the reciept) and i was on my way in what was then ( 2 years ago) a cheap accord.
i bought mine 3 years ago. 94 vti with 160k on the clock manual bone stock for $10.5k
Was a very cheap buy. I should of kept it stock though!
I bought mine early this year 94 vti with 95000km on it. it came with all the books etc and it didnt seem like it been tampered with becasue i got all service history.. these people seemed that they did not dive it too often.
ohh how much did i pay--- they wanted like $16000 for it-- i said bollocks, ill give you 13k cash now-- and i got it for 13 with 6 months warranty
all wat was wrong was that the shockers were hammered.. so i just bought new suspension for the car- all good.^_^
I got my 95 VTI back in Aug 2002 for $15500 with 118km, lowered 1.5inch.
Has anyone seen the trading post lately? There are plenty of 5th gen Accords now under $10k... They all started dropping in price around May/June from what i could see (when i bought mine in April you would see one $10k accord every couple of weeks, and it would be gone by lunchtime of the day it was advertised!).
I was a bit annoyed, because i didnt really get much choice at my price range at the time (<$9k), and i wanted white, but the car i got was better than a few of the $11-12k cars i had test driven, so i was happy.
I nearly bought a '98 VTi for $10k, but it was VERY gutless, and my friend figured there was something wrong with it. When i called back and said for them to fix it first, they didnt want to know me (had $11.5k on the sticker)
$1950 for a 1983 stock Accord 2dr.
Man, the more i see, the more i feel mine was a good buy
yeah the accords have dropped in price i just had a look at da trading post, when i was looking all for my car all da 5th gen accords were above 10k, the better ones with less kms above 13k but now u can get a good 5th gen accord for around 10-12 k or even under 10k,
and pimping ur accord is a very good buy
i think mines the cheapest...so far
$5000 white auto fully optioned (xcept leather) accord exi 1990

got mine for $10500 with 70000k's on the clock. But the best thing is I got 3 years warranty with it by an official honda distributer, since I bought it, that's saved me about $7000+ worth on fixing the car - all covered by warranty.

had 150k on the clock when i got my hands on it.
170k now in less then a year :(
great ride though
This is off topic, but I own a white cd5, has anyone actually seen one which is well maintained?
It's like every white accord has a dent, or is really badly in need of a decent wash, im talking dirt all over it.
all the other colours seem to be pretty decent, however i've seen some shocking accords which have been badly looked after....mainly around cabramatta.
hi all
just wondering, just picked up a brand new accord VTI-L 2009 (complianced) for $38300, it comes with additional accessories such as tinted windows, fitted floor mats, and window visor. Did i get a good price or get rotted?
Thanks
RL

ur mum ripped you off?
I bought mine VTI-L, tinted, floor mats, park sensor for $35000, last year Nov
i see.. not ur mum..
wah jauh lebih murah dari punya gue, i definitely got ripped off hard! DAMN!!
Yes, got ripped off again didn't you?
Just like the Jazz you bought.
Nice to know my mum can still sell you an overpriced car.
Think twice before writing something like that to someone who was trying to help you dumb ass.
Checked my books - actually got it for $36K.. I pity you RL
Don't know what it is but all the accords I see for sale are well over the quoted price of redbook?
Can anyone tell me what they think a 2000 honda accord vti-l with 120,000kms on it is worth :S?
Mate your just nicking yourself in the head asking. I sell Honda's for a living $38300 is a good price for an 09 VTi-L
So many reasons for discounts, old stock, older complience dates, crappy colour combo, demo pricing ect ect.
Take what people say with a grain of salt;)
08AccordVTIL
My opologies for being rude on the comment. However, your comment on previous message " I THOUGHT THERE WAS A FINANCIAL CRISIS WITH CHEAP CAR" really got me upset. If you think accord/Honda is a cheap production car, then i do not think you belong here.
Greetings all, be kind to the noob! I am looking for 96-98 Accord, about $5-7K, but have been spooked by the auto problems.Does this mean I should only get a manual?? cheers!!
hey mate,
your year which you quoted 96-97 is referencing to two different models.
firstly, the cd5 which was produced between 93-97 (yes 93 not 94) does not have a definite problem with automatic transmission, they are not known to fk up anymore than the manual...or at all really.
the other model between 98-02 CG auto's are pretty much known to fk up, and the worst part is the cost to fix them would be double if not triple that of a cd5.
my opinion- cd5 is a better car, looks better, has less problems and is cheaper.
Just my 2cents.
Thanks mate, that is exactly the sort of info that I was hoping for. There is a 97 Vti Limited edition on carsales at the moment, but its service history sound a bit sus, vs. a CG5? 98 vti one owner, all log books etc, that had a burnt valve replaced 3 months ago! and this car has been babied!
SO- no CG autos, at least that is settled, cheers!!
I have a 96 Accord, 290xxx Clicks on it now, and i am slowly starting to notice my auto tranny give way. But its only noticeable when it changes from 1st to 2nd gear, every other gear is still smoooooooooooooooth.
i paid 3500 for my stock 1987 accord since then 4 years ago...been an amazing car bought rims stero 2 12s subs 6 inch speckers all round kepted nice and clean no stuipid mods just making it clean as full exhaust 2inch all the way threw with a twin tip at the end {loud} last week brand new gear box and radiator goina put more money into it keep it clean and respect the honda way :)

Just bought an '04 Accord Euro lux manual for $11K, has done 178K but still pretty cheap especially in Perth I thought.
Ollie
