I degreased the engine and noticed there is oil on the block under the Valve cover gasket,cleaned it off,went for a 10 minute drive and it's come back,so the gasket is obviously not making a good seal,it is an old gasket...
So I'm gonna replace the gasket tomorrow,should I use a gasket sealant? Can I take the cover off and on if I use the sealant?
Anything else I should do?

when you replace the valve cover gasket you're meant to use sealant in the corners of the cam holes at the dizzy end.
if that makes sense. lol
Just to help the 90 degree bend in the gasket seal around the corners of the cam area.
So both ends in the corners?
Any recommendations for the sealant :)
hondabond or loctite gray stuff
yeah. there might even be sealant in the places that theres meant to be so use that as a guide.
Ultra grey or hondabond (i use ultra grey ;))

Yep what jason said is correct, always use a sealant, also what people seem to look past is, removing and refitting the gasket and not thinking about replacing it, exposure to heat / cooling down, removal and re-fitment, the gasket warps and stretches and doesnt seal as well, should replace your gasket atleast once ever 2 years considering you're not pulling the cover on and off every 2 months (only occasionally). Look into that also, because I warped gasket wont seal no matter how much sealant is put on :P

Yeah as above, you should see where the sealant has been used before.
And yeah you'll be able to take it off and put it on, but best to clean the sealant off each time and use new stuff.
yeah clean the old sealent off as it will get in the way.
Also, don't forget to put the o-ring seals around the spark plug holes when you reinstall the cover. Leave one of those out and you'll have oil in the spark plug holes lol.
That's what happened...I didn't know.I had oil in the spark plug holes,over the leads etc.
What the order of install?
You just lay the cover upside down, put the seals in the grooves and put it on the engine. Apply the sealant in the correct places.
make sure the seal around the edge isn't twisted or pinched anywhere and torque it down in the correct pattern.
So you put the sealant on after the cover goes on the engine?
