How many Litres does your jazz do per 100 km???
I checked mine and it's on 6.7
depends on how i drive it
mine returns 6.7-7.0 if i drive like a granny
and about 7.7-8.2 if i drive like a maniac
it doesnt want to go past 8.2.....
maybe i'm not trying hard enuff
on my stock's VTi-S rims i can do 5.8-6.2lt/100.
on my 17" rims, i now do 6.4-6.7
those figures are somtimes hard to follow..
practically one full tank will allow me around 550kms, normally no more than tat..if get there, very lucky.
anyone find this the same? cause i think most jazz should do better than tat.
sad :(
One full tank i only get 500 kms :(
damn ..the official figures are so so wrong..
lol
460km is what i average from a full tank of fuel until the fuel light comes on......550km what is that driven till it's empty ????? or is that mostly highway driving
same as me...:DQuote:

how big is the jazz's tank?
cause i get around 460 on a full tank of synergy 8000 (tegs have 50lt)
which isnt too bad...
quite disappointed with you jazz boys hehe revving too hard aye...
unless its like a 30 lt tank then thats understandable...
a full tank is 42 lt form the manual.
i get 550 kms somtimes when really emtying the tank :) its like i fill up 40-41 lt
fuel light comes around 500kms.]
quite disappointed since jazz is so called the 'fuel saver' but turn out not true :(
guess civics tegs + jazz all drink about the same....
are u sure man???Quote:

42 lt . am very sure. u can check the jazz brochure.
its not unusual tat i fill around 38- 40lt since hav done it many times.
never tried fillinf up 42 lt though. :)
think u can still go a bit.
take the tank out and measure it
is just right under the front seats made of plastic hehe.
everything is plastic these days.
lol
i still think it is very very good on petrol compare with my previous ride
i never feel disappointed on that but some other stuff
i get my light on at 550kms... i drive to 600kms and then i fill up...
er, not too sure how u guys drive ur Jazz.
if possible, i try to keep it below 3K rpm. not too difficult once u get used to it.
i get 600kms EASILY. if the light comes on, you can still do another 50kms at the very LEAST.
the tank capacity is 42 ltr.
based on my car's computer, i averaged 6~6.3 when using the stock 14" on my Vti. after changing to Lenso 15"s, i'm getting around 6.5~6.7. but i'm still confident of hitting 600kms on a full tank.
i think the jazz has one of the better mileage for a car of its class. definitely better than say, Fiesta or Mazda2.
I agree there, are all you jaz owners hitting the 600km mark using just normal unleaded or Preimum ? i have just switched over to preimum recently yo see the difference and well it's an extra 10kms from normal but i'm only on my second tank so can't say for sure...:D but compared to my REX it's miles better and way better then the lancer 1.8 also.Quote:

I change gears at 2.5 RPM or lower... It's actually not that hard to get use to hehe... Only rev higher with FULL car of fat asses on a hill hahaha
I seem to average more than 8L/100km.
VTi-S Auto.
What have you got that little reading down to?
I've seen 3.9L/100km on the highway from my gf's Jazz...
3.9L/100km?? WOW .. is that on the GLi (1.4L)?
btw, i use regular unleaded :D
The light according to the manual indicates that you have around 7l of fuel leftQuote:

I've just came back from a 3 days trip, I've done 1200km all together..... the lowest I've seen is 5.7L/100km..... (first time).... but since I was cruising at about 130km/h, it shows about 6.5L/100km..... also because in rural areas, there is no BP Ultimate available, I've been adding Premium Unleaded......
but from day to day city driving, I've never went below 6.5L/100km, the light usually comes on about 500km mark...... 600km? I don't think I will ever achieve that.....
hmmm..driving up sydney tomorrow..wonder how much petrol it'll cost me
just on my first tank of premium just hit 500km's and got a bit more to go, big difference over unleaded i usually only get 460km's on unleaded only. Now i gotta wonder how BP Ultimate will go
on the dashboard, there's a trip computer that records distance per trip as well as mileage (in terms of L/100km). i'm not sure how the mileage is calculated though - whether it is a running average (and if so, calculated over how many kms or L??) or average for the whole trip.
the fuel tank has 42L.
so theoretically/mathematically speaking, if you get your mileage BELOW 7L/100km, you should get at least 600kms. (eg 6L/100km = approx 700kms)
7L/100km is the threshold (theoretically).
anything above 7 and your total distance per tank is below 600kms.
er, makes sense?
mine was showing 5.9L/100KM yesterday for a while on the hume hwy...now it's on 6.5L/100KM
yup i do 600 kms as well but then again i get 500+ on my em1 so must be my granny driving
hey Francis... baby arrived yet? did everything go well?
u have to drive like a granny or nanny now.... got to take care the little one... :)
On PULP I get 5.2-5.8/100 normal driving, hilly area 6.2/100
on ULP 6.2-6.8/100
Premium is worth it
really depends if you floor it or not? lol. srsly normal granny driving ull have excellent fuel economy otherwise it may drink especially if your a rever.
my eldest brother and i both have a jazz... i do normal city driving everyday occationally driving like a maniac and i get usually around 500 before the fuel light comes on, my brother drives highway everyday for about an hour there and an hour back he told me he got approx 650kms and when he filled up it had 5L still in it (we both use Vpower)... the figures honda tells us are true i guess its just a matter of how you drive it :) thats what i think anyway
specify whether its manual or auto cos im sure the auto would use abit more. maybe thats why some are getting 460km/tank???
i get a fuel economy ranging for 5.7-6.5, car is running on 17's with BBK & turbo :) & i've checked the range i get out of a tank & done the maths the fuel economy checker isnt screwed up :)
I got my fuel economy down to 5.6/100km. But that only happens after long trips. It slowly goes up as I do short trips to pick up people from nearby etc.
Love fuel consumption while cruising on the highway 8)
5.6?! what the hell..
my 'normal' drivin gets like 8.3L/100km..
wtf is wrong wit my car? its pretty much bone stock and its manual not to mention
prob cause u do alot of stop start driving. i know at least for me i just hit the highway & cruise at 80 all the way there :)
Yeh when I first got my car it was at 10/100km because all the trips i did were jsut 1km trips where there were heaps of stops.
i go on the m5 east alot..
yeah i guess the traffic to uni sucks, and i always have a habit of warming the car up before i go anywhere.
i still believe its quite high compared to other people
lol dude, are u running on 2nd gear on m5 or something?
I assume you're going to UNSW
Even with peak hr traffic, i only get 7.3 max.
But otherwise, 6.2 on average
My best record would be 5.2L with ultra granny driving. But it's really no point since it really inaccurate
180km a tank for my rx7.... (60lt) 500km+ for my civic (45lt tank)
PULP on both ;)
My new jazz is throwing up really high consumption. I have ran 450km so far and my fuel tank is now empty. So it is actually using slightly more than 10L/100km! I can't see how I can get it down to 7L/100km...oh, and I am using BP Ultimate.
whats the best way to calculate the fuel consumption (L/100km) for a vehicle which doesnt have the trip computer?
i've been told to use this formula: litres filled into tank (ie. 39L) / mileage (ie. 450km) x 100 = 8.6
lol...is this the correct way?
Well, the computer on my Jazz was recording between 7L to 10L. But I did my own calculation. I pumped up full tank with BP Ultimate on my Jazz and took note of the mileage. Drove happily till yellow signal came up...drove for another 25km with yellow signal on and took my calculations from there. So I have clocked 450km since I last fuel and divide that by 42 litres (full cap for VTI Jazz) and I got my L/KM.
quite wierd for me now..
my old EG --> petrol light comes on at approx. 430km
my current EK --> petrol light comes on at approx 430km
wierd..
My Jazz when new was giving really bad mileage, until about 2,000KM on the odometer, but as it's aged, it's really settled down. A friend consistently gets 5.0L/100KM, I consistently get 5.5-5.7L/100KM, and have done the maths.
North Brisbane to Gold Coast return 5 times (1 return per day, approx 125KM in each direction, totalling 250KM) was giving me 5.2L/100KM, running at 110KHM, just over 3,000RPM
I estimated a 42L tank could potentially travel 800KM, but that would be absolutely running the trank dry (they're not THAT heavy to push, right?)
Two important factors :
1. an un-modded 1.3L iDSI motor
2. Standard grade 91RON unleaded fuel
Cheers,
Blip.
Friend of mine had a Jazz for about 2 years, and got about 6.0 to 6.5 L / 100km, doing mainly city driving ie lots of short trips in heavy traffic.
I get around 8L / 100km with my Integra.
I just run my tank down and refueled with Shell VPower last night. Hope it will somehow improve.
i had my work car (jazz vtis) up to 122.soemthing per 100 KMS LOL but i was in first gear all the way down nepean HWY, dont tell my boss. its one of them 7 speed jazz's with panel shift
During the 2007 Queensland Queen's birthday weekend my wife took a drive from Logan City (just south of Brisbane) to Noosa and achieved 4.8 litre per 100 km.
Normally however just around the city to and from work we only get 5.9 litre / 100km.
1.3 litre engine CVT no mods to body or mechanicals 5,000 km on clock.
Windows up for better aerodynamics and air conditioner on all the way.
6.1 for VTI is possible, 6.7 is when you sometimes wait within a jam (manual), word is said that with a VTIS it never reach as low as 6.1, maybe its slightly higher weight triggers it, but fuel efficiency of this car isnt a problem at all, 6.3 means you can drive for more than 600km with one tank of petrol, how exciting is that?! more importantly, you dont have to go with 95, that saves too.
Oh, and the computer's kinda stupid, the read of your first quarter tank or 1/3 would determine the read of the rest unless you got a long enough highway to go or jammed up really bad.
anyway the computer together with a lot of other features are nothing you would expect in a such small car, and they are just what to encourage you to pay more than you should, play with it, but dont really lay your faith with it, hehe.
I've done a series of high octane fuel tests with my 1.3L engine, minimum of three full tanks to ensure all the old 91 ron is flushed out, and run 98 ron premium shell fuel
From what I could see, made virtually NO difference in either performance, or actual mileage distance.
Previous car (Commodore) got a marked improvement on distance, but not in performance. I think the 1.5L Vtec motor may get a better result, given it's tuned to give higher perfromance.
Next thing i'm going to try is three tanks of 10% ethanol blend, so see what difference it makes on mileage, my bet is.....not much
hrmm i only do 6.7l/100kms, but i mainly commute to work and back and most of it is highway, my worse is 9l/100km
mine is about 8.9 - 9.6 /100 kms. Not too sure why it drinks lots of petrol.
I just ran my Jazz to Hervey Bay and back clocking around 600km on Shell VPower. My result - 6.6L/100km. Now when I travel around town to work and home, the most I get is 6.9L/100km.
test drive me jazz to wollongong NSW, it was running 6.4L/100Km.... I also run it with BP ultimate.... Engine is more responsive and fuel consumption is more efficient...
I noticed when I put a drop in K&N panel filter I got a lot more distance out of my car (avg 50km). Its re-usable so u wont need to change it ever again, Which is a fair bit of saving in the long run IMO. Not a bad investment of $100.
Just joined up today ( see my intro on main page ) and have only had my factory standard 2005 VTI-S CVT for 2 days but on highway cycle on the 270 KM one way trip home when I picked it up it was returning 5.5 litres per 100 k's along variable straight and mountainous terrain.
Wasn't driving at Granny speed but not on leadfoot speed either.Happy with that sort of economy if it keeps around that figure.
Getting 6.7 around town but thats with a couple of minutes warm up time as well ( I like to warm up my cars before driving off )
JAZZGO.
for my usual driving, mix of highway and local roads, it usually end up with 6.3/100km, kms I usually get from a full tank is around 550, but I've reached 630 couple times, especially just after service, oh, and also, I'm using Shell's E10
just wondering figure your all are quoting from trip computer or did you go with ODO and calculated?
some people say that trip computer 6.6L/100 is not correct, and it varies a lot with your current driving sitution.
Around Brisbane, down the Gold Coast and out past Ipswich I get about 6.2L/100km
The most I did was about 500km before the light came on then another 20km around before I found another BP to get Ultimate which is the only fuel put in this since I got it.
I have the manual version.
Yeah I have a manual VTi. It really senses what type of driving you're doing. If you dolly it and not rev above 2500rpm it will sit between 5.9 and 6.1L per 100km with ease.
Best fuel consumption - 650km of pure hwy driving sitting on 110km/h the whole time. Got it down to 5.3L per 100km. From memory the fuel light only came on just over the 600km mark.
Worst would be about 7.2L per 100km and barely scraped 500km out of a tank but that was after 5 days of traffic jams to and from work.
The car has about 5000km on it now, is it true that once you put a few km on these motors they drink less fuel?
New guy in the forum and I currently own a VTi-S manual.
Fuel economy seems to always be hovering around the 7.0l/100 mark if used for city driving (Sydney's traffic is no good).
It improves to around 6.3-6.5 when combined with highway driving (I used to drive back and forth the M5) with 30% highway 70% city.
I drive conservatively (read: turtle's pace) most of the time.
Ed
haha wonder how come mine is skyrocketing. If i drive at turtle pace i get 7.2 - 7.6/ 100 mark. Normal Driving + Jam in city is around 8.4/100 mark. Speeding get me up to 9.2/100 mark.
I got a vtis auto with top fuel intake. Gee.. how come you guys got so nice millage~
I have a 2004 VTIS and I'm always sitting on 5.7 and 5.8 if I do any city driving.. not sure why you guys are so high...
mine is around 7.5-8L /100km. i-DSI 2003 AT.
my bro has a vti-s auto.. I cant stop pressing that tiptronic button.. and the engine just go nuts.. lol.. I pressed that computer button when I drove to pancake parlor at donny.. it was like 11.3 lmaoz. hAHAHa.. red lining it all the way.. lmaoz
that jazz engine can take such a beating.. revv's twice as hard as my fd1.. =(
i filled up the Jazz (1.5, VVTi- S Auto) we had done 560km's and I put 34 litres in it. It was full as I always try a few clicks more as I think it should be putting more into it.
My 5spd manual '07 VTi now has 12k on the clock and the fuel consumption has gotten a whole lot better.
If you rev its **** off, will drink a bit though. But its just so much fun :)
I'm still yet to check based on kms and litres to refill, but based on the trip computer we seem to be averaging 6.0L/100kms with city driving for a 2003 Vti manual with 60,000kms on the clock.
When we first got it I refilled and reset trip. I then drove to work 2 days in a row as economically as I could and managed to average 5.5L/100kms for city driving :)
Not sure how accurate the trip computer is vs recording number of kms travelled and litres to refil.
Hi, I am new here and I am in Hong Kong driving a 2005 1300cc i-DSI Jazz.
The gas mileage of my Jazz is:
Without a/c on: 14-15km/L
With a/c on: 12-13km/L
With my jazz.. for a full tank 40L i normally get around 400 to 450kms running at 7.0- 8.5L/100km...
but u can resist not VTEC it at times.. small jazz needs to zip around!!
lol i think the GD3 is more thirsty than other jazz... Same i got around 7 - 8.5..
BTW whats the v-tec point??? i heard 6k RPM???? that way i never got my V-tec started before... 6k is close to the red!!!
I believe, for GD3, the vtec will be activated at around 4800rpm.
i got a 2002 JAZZ gli 1.3L auto
filled with normal unleaded from caltex
i usually do city drive with 6.7L/100km on trip1
on a full tank til the E lights up i get 450km
reving goes to 4-5k max at times but mostly 2.5k
