Hey guys,
called up 2 Honda dealers the other day and I got quoted that the service that will be carried out on my car would be roughly 1.3k to 1.5k. I got told that every 40xxxkm is a major service. Is this correct?

yes every 40,000 is a major
off topic, but JN7, you have an s2000? I thought you had a euro?
thanks for the confirmation!
euroman, yeah man. we still have it.. my old man is driving it now.
I can see you've upgraded (downgraded? :P) to an s2000 too!
The best way to find out whats a Major and whats a minor is to check your service log book. But yes every 40 is a major on all hondas.
it's been serviced every 10xxxkm.
looks like it has to be carried out then!
vtek; when you said major at 40, what exactly does a major service involve?
i always thought a major service was things like timing belts, water pump etc..
and things like oil changes were carried out every 5/10
ps. i'm a fat newbie, so just asking
valve clearance adjustment is a big one every 40,000
Blergh, way too much.
Call other dealerships, shouldn't be anymore than about $1000.
really? i'll keep calling then.
$1300 would be MAX cost.
I'd seriously expect to pay no more than $1100.
But maybe its different in Sydney than it is in Brisbane?
i'm from melbourne. i'll see how it goes anyway
