yeah i got 5.5 shoved in the same hole man, just cut em and stuff
yeah, cutting is possible... but if u dont want hassle then go for kicker 4inch splits... used them before
and they come with a cross over where opposed to many other brands do not give u a cross over for
4inch splits... retails about 150 max...
6.5 will fit without too much trouble if you're willing to make some custom spacers

arent civic speakers 6 inch anyways?
my cousin has a civic vti and his car speakers are 6 inches...

hmmmmz.. dats strange...
his car is 6 inches with and without the brackets man...

better off if you just get the right size for your car man... = )
I've got JBL GTO 5.25in splits in my eg (hatch) and they sound really good, very clear mid-bass and nice transparent highs, good for funk :)
I modified the original 4in mounting cups by attaching a spacer ring made from 12mm mdf and mids fitted in there perfectly (good because it maintains original clearance to the window when its down and clearance to the door skin). Mounted the tweeters on the sail panel (the piece of plastic over the wiring for the electric mirror), sounds nice and wasn't hard to do, got that and a deck installed without much help in 1 day.
