Take off the gearknob and there should be an hole at the top of the gearstick. Get a two litre bottle of gearbox fluid and pour it in the hole. You will also need a funnel.
ure joking right
serious responses please
why are you changing the auto fluuid?
you realise when you do this you are spose to take the whole tranny sump off and clean it out
i lost some when taking out the radiator.
red fluid spilled out 2 pipes which are conected to the box.
now i know they are a auto stock trany cooling system.
well i mean, you have to.
there is no drain plug to drain the fluid, so you have to take the whole pan off.
most auto gearboxes will have a dipstick in them.
Pretty sure from memory that the ek has a little 10cm or so dipstick that you can get to from the top, you will probably need a light to see it. If there is a dipstick there, pull it out and check the fluid level, or to check it properly-
Start the car
Run it to operating temp
With the gearbox in PARK check the level on the dipstick at the hot level (it will prob have a cold and hot level)
i think he just wants to top it up because he lost some when changing the radiator.
or else yeh if it has no drainplug you would have to take the pan off to change the fluid, and even then this does a pretty dodgy job because most of the auto fluid is still sitting in the torque converter and valve body
follow the pan...you should see where the dipstick comes from follow it up..
thanks for all the feedback guys
