The holden dealership had $14,990 on my 94 accord vti when i bought it 2 years ago ( september 2002) but i happened to work at the same car yard as a detailer so i got it for $11500 with 163,000km on it. It needed a clutch but as the car had travelled over 160,000km so they were not obligated to sell it with a 3 month warranty. And for the price i negotiated for they said they couldnt afford to put a new clutch in for me. So i would have to replace the clutch with my own money after i had bought it. Lucky for me they gave me the car for a few days to test drive it and the gearbox got stuck in reverse so bad that i had to get it towed. I wasnt going to buy a car with a gearbox that would jam in reverse. Any way the Motor Dealers Act states that a car at time of sale must be able to pass a pink slip and my accord couldnt do that in the state it was in. So they had to fix it :-)
They sent it to a gearbox specialist and it ended up being the clutch that was causing it. The dealership payed them $800 to fit a new clutch ( i saw the reciept) and i was on my way in what was then ( 2 years ago) a cheap accord.

I bought mine early this year 94 vti with 95000km on it. it came with all the books etc and it didnt seem like it been tampered with becasue i got all service history.. these people seemed that they did not dive it too often.
ohh how much did i pay--- they wanted like $16000 for it-- i said bollocks, ill give you 13k cash now-- and i got it for 13 with 6 months warranty
all wat was wrong was that the shockers were hammered.. so i just bought new suspension for the car- all good.^_^

Has anyone seen the trading post lately? There are plenty of 5th gen Accords now under $10k... They all started dropping in price around May/June from what i could see (when i bought mine in April you would see one $10k accord every couple of weeks, and it would be gone by lunchtime of the day it was advertised!).
I was a bit annoyed, because i didnt really get much choice at my price range at the time (<$9k), and i wanted white, but the car i got was better than a few of the $11-12k cars i had test driven, so i was happy.
I nearly bought a '98 VTi for $10k, but it was VERY gutless, and my friend figured there was something wrong with it. When i called back and said for them to fix it first, they didnt want to know me (had $11.5k on the sticker)
