Replacement key for FD
Hi all,
I would like to pick your brains a bit here. I lost one of my FD keys a few months ago and I want to know if anyone knows how to get a replacement key.
I couldn't find the little tag that came with the keys so is there any other way to figure out the code?
I found a few uncut honda keys on ebay but I don't know if they will work with my FD without the immobiliser code and they do not come with the remote part.
Any help would be appreciated..:D

Unfortunately i think it's a case of going to the dealership :(
-
Do you know how much the cost is to get a replacement key from a dealer?
This don't worry me much, having one key... but does anyone have any issue with selling a car that only have one set of key?
-
Not sure of the cost but be prepared for a lot :( Try call around and ask anyway.
A lot of people tend to sell cars with one key only. i have no clue why
-
300-400 me thinks for replacement key, the key itself isnt expensive, its just programming the chip
-
It's really not an expensive procedure to perform for them, it's just an another avenue for the dealer to rape your wallet
-
if you have a working key that is already programmed, it will be cheaper. They pretty much just do a copy and paste onto your new key. But if the remote or battery is dead on your current key, they're going to need to re-programme everything which will cost more. That's my experience with my dad's camry anyway. I dont think Honda will be too much different?

haha something honda dealers excel at. they should make it a performance criteria :P

that won't work.
Buy a key over the net, that's fine, get the key cut locally, and for the programming of the transponder to the immobiliser, you'll need your dealer
