I think Honda will do an awesome job and I don't think they will have as much trouble as VW.
For what they are, small engines and all that, Honda IMO is generally above the mark compared to other manufacturers with equivalent setups. For example I have never driven a 1.6 N/A engine that feels and goes as well as a Honda does, for mainstream engine that is (not custom tuned ones).
Don't think Honda will drop the ball here. They'll do well I reckon.
