Well sorry for the long delay of updates on this Beat..
Have been busy working on my other toy.. the K20 EG race car.
cant juggle 2 project at one go, when technically only have 1 or 2 day a week to work on cars... such is life.. LOL.

Still be focusing on the civic for a couple more weeks, then I'll be starting to mocking up engine mounts for the beat.
I just finish putting the ITR Torsen LSD from the Civic K20 to the Beat Ep3 K20 Box.
The Civic received a new Spoon 1.5 Way LSD.
Talking about recycling parts...
any one wants an open diff from the EP3? ... hahahaha.
Checking up Snychros and gear sets...

Hello LSD

Box now, been assembled ready to be put back with the engine.
will ramp up this project as soon as the civic is finish, Not long...
I'ts sad coz the beat has been sitting on the corner under car cover longer than i drove it...
what arch flares are they?
Very cool.
Little help offered here for folk looking for jdm parts.
I used to import jap performance cars to UK.
I used a Japanese bloke called Ido Kats.
He is a Yahoo.co.jp middle man and can get you anything at all...
He's on Facebook but I moved to oz so no longer do the parts and performance parts game.
hnnngggg
Just a short update.
Engine and box are back together now.

a little tight there i think.

Test fitting, see how much space i have..

Dummy position. and it still needs to move up 150mm up more.

I have lots of rooms to move the engine back and forward, the not side ways.
I have to create a notch on the left chassis frame to accommodate the gearbox.
The gearbox are bigger than what i expected to be.
I'm trying to keep all the suspension geometry as is and not too much mucking around with it.
but i think i might have to fabricate a new rear left trailing arm / swing arm. as it might faults the lower of the box.
from Frame to Frame i could clear all the auxiliary belts and shifter linkage system on the box.
and once it clears 150mm, the lower point of the engine is roughly the same as the lower point of the floor of the car.
Cross finger... :p We see how we go today, and how much i can work on it. I should have an mock up mount in and getting a rough fix position where i want to be.
consider making up a "beer case box" ( cardboard from cases cut and taped into the rough shape of the engine and box)
I did this and it hugely helped with a B into a mini. Back and forth - worked out dimensions / firewall cutting etc
2 months on! and finally I got some momentum going with the project for the past 2 weekends.
I score this RS-mach Hard top from Yahoo about a month ago. Completes with mounting kits etc.

TBH They are very hard to come by with the Multiple humps. I did pay for a fair price for it considering the conditions of the gel Coat etc. Nothing a lick of fresh paint cant do.
And these hard top price has gone up to the roof on Yahoo auction... I did not want to spent up to $3000 on a Mugen one...
Car worth less than 5k and a Roof that worth 3k? Must be joking....
Well! now as the engine taking to "final" mock up position

Hanged with top engine craddle with a makeshift support so it would give a bit more working space underneath it.
we did more cheese cutting through the metals etc and finaly have some idea where it will be sitting and how it would clear the subframe etc.
with the engine supported from the top and now the nd engine is adjusted with gearbox jack into the position.
this allow us to bolt back all the subframes and arms to positions. (ignore the arm angle, coilovers are set on the lowest possible setting)
https://scontent-hkg3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...fa&oe=55E69BCC
Sub frame have to be spaced out to clear the hump of the gear box (final drive) and we make shift a couple piece of woods, one on each side. (this would be made out from a correct steel thickness and laser cut on final product)

https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...b44db4ba2831ff
So close but not close enough. I still need to raise the suspension up by the end of the day to compensate the increase height of the subframe. also this would give me more clearance on the rear trailing arm and most importantly to give me more clearance for the SUMP!.
Now I'm going to back to the drawing board, and making task before the next step:
designing some Plates to be laser cut for this to have the Subframe to be Fixed in place and properly bolted
Suspension to raise / utilise stock shocks for time being
Arms to clear gearbox cast housing.
Re strengthening the Subframes (fully boxed, stiffen and welded)
Re strengthening the Chassis rail that has been modified to clear the engine (Tubed, gusseted, Thicken wall)
one all of that above is done,
We will start looking into the Engine mountings
Drive shafts (OH!! This is going to be nightmare...)
This has becoming real! glad I only have to do it once! LOL.
Bump any updates
Sending to drive shaft shop in 2 days. ;)
Final placement of engine is done.
Engine is supported by its own mount.
Once the drive shaft is good to go, pulling out the engine and start tiding up the engine bay.
Grind off welds, rubber coated the weld and paint...
Slow progress 😂
